Agent Smith is a former Agent of the Matrix. After being initially destroyed by Neo, he became an Exile and manifested as a computer virus with the uncanny ability to copy himself over the minds of Bluepills, Redpills and programs alike. He is the main antagonist of the first three The Matrix films before being resurrected by The Analyst in the The Matrix Resurrections. The resurrected Smith carries strong resentment towards The Analyst and, upon recovery of his memories, pragmatically chooses to let both Neo and Trinity live in favor of prioritizing the downfall of The Analyst.

Agent Smith is half of a pair of government agents who investigate unexplained cases. He appears in The Quest for Beasts episode Legacy (and also appeared in the series finale), in which his voice is provided by Keith David.

Biography in The Quest for Beasts[]

Nothing is explicitly stated about Smith's background. He began working with the government around the 1980s and this where his partnership with Agent Jones spawned. Together the two works on supernatural cases and The Beast Hunter would later use them to help him track down Daniel and his friends.

Appearance and personality[]

Smith is a tall, muscular black man with a shaven head. He sports a black and white suit and tie, as well as wraparound sunglasses. Smith appears to be the muscle of the two, and he mentions that he'd be "more than happy to crush them [the gang] like bugs". He is also mysterious, sarcastic and violent.

Appearances[]

Legacy[]

Jones and Smith attend a meeting held by The Beast Hunter (under the guise of Mr. Bill East), who tells them about Daniel and his friends, and he then tells them that they are based in Cambodia.

The villains travel there and begin spying on the gang. They eventually catch up with them and chase them to Angkor Wat, where Smith and Jones hold them at gunpoint. They are incapacitated by the temple monkeys and later on Sonya uses a sword to cut their clothes to pieces. The two agents are left standing in their tightie whites and the Beast Hunter flies away. Smith and Jones are later arrested, with the former commenting, "This is not the high point of my career."

Fight to The End[]

A reformed Smith and Jones are seen at the end of the episode, practicing martial arts with Daniel. They appear alongside many of the gang's former enemies in the vision.
