This ancient golden scepter called the Amulet Staff, which is also known as the Staff of Shinnok, was the only weapon of the fallen Elder God Shinnok. This Amulet Staff is used to amplify the already great power of the Amulet of Shinnok. The amplification of the amulet's powers increases to the point of pure and virtually unlimited power, omnipotence even. This, for example, will cause the following chain reaction:
- A man can teleport in a vicinity.
- The Amulet allows the wielder to teleport anywhere.
- As the amulet is still placed upon the Amulet Staff, the wielder can teleport anywhere, even in time.
The Amulet Staff's actual origin and history is linked to those of the Amulet of Shinnok. The Staff of Shinnok was another treasure considered as sacred by the Brotherhood of the Shadow since it was created by the evil Elder God himself.

Mortal Kombat: Shinnok's Uprising[]
When Shinnok was facing Liu Kang, Raiden, and Fujin in the Fire Well at the Netherrealm, he wielded it. He nearly lost his prized amulet from Liu's strong Flying Kick, though thanks to Kung Lao, one of his new pawns, he retrieved it and attached it to the tip of his staff! He intimidated the heroes, claiming his powers shall be infinite and rule all realms! He fought off the Champion of Earth as Raiden escorted Kung Lao and Aiko to the Jinsei Chamber. Liu was at Shinnok's mercy!
That was...until Hanzo and Kuai were successful on bringing the real amulet back to the Temple of Elements! The actual artifact was sealed in Raiden's sacred settlement millennia ago, and by the time it was again, the Staff became instantly powerless as the duplicate darkened! Desperate, Shinnok still attacked with the ominous staff, but Liu Kang managed to back him to the Well! Raiden conjured as much power as he can muster forcing Shinnok into it Fujin finished him into the fatal spikes below with a microburst, and the Staff was inactive while the fallen Elder God reduced to a skeleton!
