Animality

An Animality is a Finisher that debuted in Mortal Kombat 3, that allows the victorious player's character to turn into an animal to viciously maul the defeated opponent.

Animalities are presented as the character morphing into their spirit animal in which a Mercy had to be performed in the third round of the match in order to be able to perform the Animality.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Part II[]

Nightwolf made a hasty effort to introduce Kung Lao and Aiko to their own Animalities, in which he described as awakening their own spirit animals to assist them against their battles with Shao Kahn and his extermination squads. The shaman stated it won't be easy as the user has to go thru a sleep state and fight their inner demons. Kung Lao watched his friends age rapidly and remain powerless against threats to Earthrealm. He began to distract the malicious shades, until the bailed. As they did, Lao gave chase gaining speed, to the point on gradually morphing into a cheetah before he dove in for the kill!

Aiko, dubbed as Aiko the Ankylosaurus, was back in her dystopian time and confronted a horde of undead whom she recognized as her fallen friends! She used a club which wasn't a weapon, but rather attached to herself! In her rage, she also performed a few charges, and the sober bystanders, Nightwolf, Kiba and Kung Lao, noticed her churn into an Ankylosaur, her favorite dinosaur since she was young; she had a tough decision on being that or a fox.

There was an army of Animalities done by each of the Kombatants as they fought off Kahn's extermination squads.

Mortal Kombat: Shinnok's Uprising[]

Liu Kang transformed into a dragon temporarily in order to decimate the astronomical wave of the Army of Darkness; he commandeered Kai in Chinese to hide behind a hill before he unleashed it.
