Argus is the father of Taven, Daegon and Rain who makes his first appearance in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
Argus is one of the Gods of the realm of Edenia, as well as its great, divine Protector, assigned to defend it from threats of outside forces. He is also the husband of the powerful Edenian sorceress named Delia.
Final Kombat[]
Millenniums ago, he was first seen in the prologue with Delia as he assured her visions of Armageddon were accurate. He doubted that Kahn would be interested in Earthrealm and thus focus on Edenia in his conquest. Since then, both elders constructed their temples in Earthrealm for the quest, while Argus put his sons into a sleep state for millennia. Argus then decreed that the Pyramid has been prepared with Blaze at the brink of Armageddon and prayed to the Elder Gods and their guardian dragons to watch over his chosen.
Argus then met Taven inside a monolith within the Botan Jungle, giving him some training exercises against some Red Dragon agents. He too saw Argus inside the temple hoping he could find the weapons and armor designated for his and Daegon's quest. Unfortunately, the weapon located in the temple was already taken (presumably by Daegon) and he ended the reception just before Taven was attacked by Sektor who demanded answers of his transmission.
Argus was then brought up by Orin that he presumed him to be dead, perhaps both parents were slain by Daegon upon his outrage involving the quest, as Orin confessed to Taven the journey was a setup to rile the brothers against each other. Taven grew irritated over his and Delia's corruption. Since Argus and Delia were killed, it became easier for Edenia to lose in Mortal Kombat, up to ten victories, before it was taken over by Shao Kahn, thus having Delia's and Argus' temples stationed in Earthrealm.
He was also brought up by Bo' Rai Cho during the Edenian soiree as he explained to Taven that Argus had an affair with Amara, thus the birth of his unknown older half-brother, Rain! Argus became an infidel, much like him and Daegon, as he abandoned the bastard and soon taken in by commoners. Rain and Daegon became rogue and corrupt due to their rough upbringing and statuses, and only Taven and Delia were considered as the innocent ones by Bo'. Taven became angered for all the wrongdoing against his old man and his brothers.
There was some assurance by Li Mei, Bo' and even Chameleon that if Taven's successful on achieving the quest and defeating his brothers and Blaze, he shall be Edenian's next Protector God taking Argus' place!
Kontentment[]
Argus was seen along with Taven, Daegon, Orin, Caro, and Delia as they defended Edenia from Shao Kahn and his forces in the first Mortal Kombat tournament. He was mighty impressed on Kitana's, but mostly Fire God Liu Kang's, prowess! So aspired that he escorted him to the hall of the Elder Gods in the heavens! He was there when they made Liu a new member of the pantheon and granted his request ascending Kitana to goddess status! He was also their wedding officiant.
