Australia is a country comprising the Australian continent, as well as surrounding islands such as Tasmania and Fraser Island. The countries which surround it include New Guinea, New Zealand, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Australia's capital city is Canberra, and its largest city is Sydney. Australia is also home to a variety of animals, many of which live nowhere else in the world, including kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, emus, kookaburras, dingos, cockatoos, lorikeets and possums.

Australia was first mentioned as a fresh new location and start for the Shokan race; they were growing weary from all the constant battles and stress living in Outworld and Edenia and so Goro and Sheeva eventually decided to settle in a distant continent in Earthrealm. After Armageddon ended, they worked out with the Prime Minister and several world leaders and left Kintaro to take their place as a bodyguard for the Edenian Resistance.
