Bartz Klauser (known as Batz in Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals, and Butz in Japan) is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy V. His mother died when he was young, and his father died three years ago, but on his advice Bartz decided to explore the world.
Before the player names him, Bartz is known as ?, or ??? in the Advance version.
In Dissidia, Bartz appears as a Warrior of Cosmos and stands as the hero representing Final Fantasy V, opposing Exdeath.

Bartz met Cecil at Order's Sanctuary as he was trying to catch Zidane while the other warriors watched.
Dissidia Shadowgate[]
Bartz was seen with the original 9 warriors as Chaos was finally defeated! They'd been teleported to the Cornelia Isles, and he soon questioned the Warrior if there were other allies with them. It stated there were, but they fell during the 12th cycle as they were sealing the Rift. Soon, he and his team, minus the Warrior, wound up at the woods of Stormhaven, heeding Cosmos' last words on stopping the warlock lord from raising the Behemoth that'll destroy all worlds. He took on the adventure as he reunited with Laguna and several others. He was indeed the warrior with gusto, always exploring and sometimes goofing around with his partner, Zidane, despite Squall having some annoyances with them and should take the war seriously. After he assisted Vaan, Zidane, Squall and Laguna against the firedrake, he retained his memories on his Chocobo partner, Boko, and one of his eldest partners, Galuf. He also assisted Cecil mimicking his Dark Flame and Soul Eater and decimated a troll, even assisting Kain against a wyvern and finding the missing talisman. Before the party faced the warlock, Bartz retained his deeper memories, even the adventures with Boko. He died trying to fight him and the Behemoth, though his Crystal revived him after Firion finished the job! He then got Teleported out of Shadowgate, went back to Stormhaven and returned to the Forest of Moore. At first, he worried it'd be Exdeath, but he noticed Boko and a wind drake! He also saw Lenna, Faris and Krile.

- Bartz has been one of Ikran's favorite fighters in Dissidia along with Tidus, Cloud, Terra and Zidane.
