Benjamin "Ben" Tolbert was the first Green Hippo Ranger, the 6th Ranger of Power Rangers Gear Beasts.
Character History[]
Ben is one of the popular employees at the Davenport Animal Biology Physics Corporation. He is the boyfriend of the CEO's daughter Bree & is underappreciated by her younger brother Chase.
During a battle, Ben took the enemy's blow in order to save Chase & Bree's lives; unfortunately, this left him badly injured & unable to fight. After some persuasion by Leo of the main universe, Ben passed his powers down to Leo Dooley. Afterwards, Ben retired to become Donald's lab assistant, all while recovering from his battle injuries & continuing his relationship with Bree.

- He is the first, & currently only, Hippopotamus-themed Ranger.
- He is the only member of the Gear Beast Rangers who does not have a known counterpart, superhuman or otherwise, in the main Lab Rats universe.
- This is similar to how Beet J. Stag doesn't have an alternate reality counterpart, since his was presumably destroyed.
- His successor, however, is the alternate universe counterpart of Leo Dooley-Davenport.
- His helmet is a repaint of the helmet of Adam's Gear Beast Mode/Blue Gorilla Ranger, with added ears.
- He is similar to Tommy Oliver from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in that they are both green sixth rangers.
- Also, unlike their Sentai counterparts who have both eventually died, both are still alive.
- He is the second Green Ranger to pass his powers down upon retirement, the first being Adam Park (Green Turbo Ranger I).
- When Tommy Oliver passed his Green Ranger powers onto Jason Lee Scott, the Red Ranger, Jason only received his Dragon Shield & Dragon Dagger.
- He's also the first Sixth Ranger to pass his powers down since the Magna Defender from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.
