Brendan, full name Brendan Birch, is the male protagonist in the games, Ruby and Sapphire, Emerald, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
He's also a main character in Pokémon Emerald: The Story of Max.

Brendan is the son of Prof. Birch, and his dad told him everything about battling. When Brendan reached Age 11, he received his first Starter, a Mudkip. He is famous in the Hoenn Region, and loves competing in tournaments and Battle Towers. He came back to see his dad and check up on the Pokémon his father is taking care of for him, but he stopped at Oldale Town and helped Max and Leaf Green save the town from Beni and Julie. After this, he contacted his dad and decided to help Max and Leaf Green out in their journey.
