Brian Griffin (ブライアン・グリフィン, Buraian Gurifin) is a White Labrador Retriever under the ownership of Stu Griffin. He has a son named Vinny. In his debut appearance in Flame Icejin: The New Frontier, he and Vinny started out as robot dogs and were given designations "BRI-N" and "VIN-E".

One day, while Stewie and Brian were busy setting up a street hockey game, Brian got run over by a car, and he almost died. Horrified that he would lose his friend, Stewie took Brian up to his room and successfully downloaded his spirit into a robotic body for him to live in. Since then, Brian has never been able to age. Seven and a half years later, Brian, known under the robot alias "BRI-N", requested a son for him to be made, since nobody could date a robot. With that, Stewie built him a son, and named him "VIN-E", and a father-son relationship was born.
Within the fifteenth year, BRI-N, VIN-E and Stewie (who then went by "Stu") were called upon by Zero and Pisces to travel back in time to stop an intergalactic pirate named Chilled from destroying the world and stealing a crown and five jewels. However, since Stu no longer had a time machine, the three managed to find one at the Quahog Science Lab and travel back fifteen years to after the time Brian got run over. There, they made friends with the Torrentuff Animals of that timeline and decided to help.
After many battles, BRI-N and VIN-E, who have fused into a humanoid robot dog named KNS, finally defeated Chilled, but at the cost of their lives. However, their passing was brief when Princess Celestia used the power of the crown to revive them, and their wish came true: they finally became real dogs (again for Brian, first time for Vinny). Before they would go home, a young boy landed behind them. It was Brian's student, Lelouch vi Britannia, whom he had trained to control his Geass when he was still a robot.

Brian as he appears in Family Guy
- Brian is pretty much based on his Family Guy counterpart.
- In the show, he already has a son: a thirteen-year-old human boy named Dylan Flannigan, who later became a TV star.
- Unlike his Flame Icejin counterpart, he dies in "Life of Brian" after being run over. However, his death was prevented in "Christmas Guy" when Stewie saved his life.
- Being a robot, he kept his eight-year-old dog-like appearance throughout fifteen years, since he wasn't able to age.
