The Bridge

The Bridge (MK3)

The Bridge, as it's simply called, is another urban area turned into an arena and it is located in a city somewhere on Earth, and normally it is a regular city bridge found in every city and other populated urban areas on the planet. It first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3.

Description[]

True to its name, the Bridge is a barren city bridge with wind constantly howling in the background and papers flying about. And it is all happening during Shao Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm. The Bridge leads to another arena: the Street.

This area was inspired by Wacker Drive in Chicago.

In Mortal Kombat (2011), a new 3D design of the Mortal Kombat 3 arena appears. In the background, there is no sunset. A new design of the background is morning or daylight. Also shown is a large monster destroying a building, as well as a flying dragon chasing a boat. A billboard displaying an advertisement for Johnny Cage's film Ninja Mime is also viewable. This arena can be seen in the background of Chicago.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Part II[]

Jax, Sonya, Liu Kang and Kitana traversed thru it during one early morning as they were heading en route to the massive portal; they couldn't take a Dragon Jet since it'd be shot down by Kahn and his army. They needed to pursue on foot and were ambushed by Mileena, Baraka and the Tarkatan army, with the mutant declaring it's the "Emperor's highway." Liu fought off Baraka while Kitana, albeit intimidated by Mileena's reveal of their mother, too her on. Sonya and Jax had their hands full until the female agent muttered for Kitana to aim for Mileena's legs but was unsuccessful. Liu knocked Baraka off the Bridge and into the lake below, while Kitana slaughtered Mileena and Jax made the group head for the end of the Bridge. With his brute strength, he made some of the structure fall decimating the Tarkatans.
