The Buddhist Temple is an essential location in the VR Troopers series. Every episode begins and ends with Ryan reflecting on his father's teachings at a Buddhist Temple where his father trained young Ryan in martial arts and in other lessons in life. Kaitlin, JB, Jeb, Tao and Tyler visited it at the end of the episode where Tyler's finally been found!
We Are VR Troopers![]
Just like with every episode, after the prologue and backstory of the Mutants, Ryan narrates within the same Buddhist Temple he reflects on about his missing father. Only this lesson describes how important humanity is, the last lecture he learnt before Tyler left Ryan as a boy, and one he will never forget. Near the final episode and epilogue, Ryan takes his new girlfriend, Ling Yu, to visit the place since it's actually similar to her family's Buddhist temple excepting there's no koi pond nor cherry blossom tree. Nevertheless, she loved the place, and Ryan then reflects on Tyler's last crucial lesson:
"Humanity. It can always be our greatest virtue. We must never underestimate the power of the human spirit and what it can do, whether it'd be by blood, used through love, kindness, and social intelligence. It can be our most powerful weapon, or it could be our greatest curse. But it can always help to get us through, even during our darkest hours. My dad said that all our past experiences, even our turmoil, our actions, our morals and values, and our personal desires determines who we are. And I realized it can be used through anyone, no matter how old or how young. Or whether we'd be a subspecies such as a Mutant, a robot, a higher mind, or even man's best friend. We all have some degree of humanity inside us, it just depends on how we use it. It all comes from deep within, it pours from the mind, body, and soul. There was no doubt in my mind when Razor Kidd once uttered this,
"We. Are. VR.
"And that was one of the most treasured lessons I will never forget."
