Carole King, birth name Carol Joan Klein, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and occasional actress. After writing songs for several musicians during the 1960s with her husband at the time, Gerry Goffin, her breakthrough came in the early 1970s with her album Tapestry, which topped the US charts for 15 weeks.
