Bi-Han and Sareena's relationship can be traced back to Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero; after the assassin was pursuing Shinnok's Amulet within the Netherrealm, via portal conjured by Raiden, and after he bested Hanzo in battle, he came across Sareena and the Brotherhood of Shadow. By the time he defeated the demon in kombat, he reluctantly decided to spare her life and help her be freed after he should confront Quan Chi and Shinnok. Unfortunately, he failed as Sareena was ambushed by the fallen Elder God and never escaped while Bi-Han did.
In Ikran's MK Khronology, specifically during the rise of Onaga, Sareena stumbled into the Lin Kuei Temple in Arctika. Seeing Sub-Zero, then recognizing him as his younger brother, she informed him that Bi-Han's soul was tainted, and became an eternal resident and specter named Noob Saibot. Sareena and Kuai traversed thru the Netherrealm leaving behind Frost and Smoke, and she led him to the gear domain. They were both attacked by deadly shadowy magic and Noob was proven to be an actual threat; he was too consumed to reunite with his love interest and brother. That was until Ashrah intervened with her photokinesis which weakened the wraith! As she defeated him, the trio ascended back to Earthrealm. It wasn't until before Armageddon that Sareena found a lost Bi-Han! He was shocked to see her after so long yet too bitter with the demon that exorcised him! Kenshi intervened with the battle between him and Hanzo as hatred rekindled, then bent Bi-Han's mind showing that Quan manipulated them both. By the time he recovered, he assisted Kuai and the cryomancer met up with the fugitive! They were both caught in battle then a firestorm by Blaze but were spared as Fire God Liu Kang made a protective coccoon to save the heroes, then the Elder Gods' tears revived them. The couple redeemed themselves at the Temple wishing the Lin Kuei and Kuai good luck as Bi-Han shall cool his heels in Arctika and Sareena watches over him as they hone their skills in Delia's abandoned temple.
