A common type of character who is overconfident, has huge ambitions, refused to give up and has little to no tolerance for failure whatsoever. They try to prevent the heroes from foiling their plans and if they do get defeated, they would often act in rage, killing or violently abusing their minions for failing to carry out their orders. Such villains also tend to warn their minions of the penalty if they fail them which is most likely said punishment. These villains often go hand-in-hand with cruel and oppressive tyrants and leaders. Some of them are also known to be sore losers or have a "Succeed or die" policy.
However, some of these villains can have a redeeming feature if they see one of their minions do something so evil, they see it as a failure. Some villains simply fire their minions instead of killing them. Some particularly brutal failure-intolerant villains may not stop at punishing their minions for their failures but may also target their minions' loved ones as a means of punishment.
Since these villains generally don't accept defeat, similar to cowards, they often die (should they indeed do so) in disgrace and rarely with honor. Often it is done both on incompetent minions and scapegoats due to the fact they failed their said goals foiled by heroes and end up punishing their minions more than they should. However, there are exceptions that can be made for some failure-intolerant villains who actually do die in honor and accept their defeat, but said exceptions are very rare.
