Kaplan (d.2002) was an Umbrella soldier and computer technician, who served as part of their Sanitation team during the Hive raid. He ultimately perished during the incident.

In Man of Destiny, Chad was one of those unfortunate souls taken against his will and worked for the Sanitation Unit as they investigated the T-Virus outbreak at the Hive. Kaplan was able to hack into some of the Red Queen's defenses, although he lost several other men in the process. He was also infected by a large swarm of the undead, and Rick, as Young Capt. Falcon, arrived to assist him, Alice and Rain and escort them out before the Hive should explode! Kaplan was able to fight the infection long enough to receive the cure aboard the train, along with Rain, before it had the chance to mutate. He couldn't start it up, till Rick powered it using a desperate move using his Light Reactor Might from the Blue Falcon GT. By the time the Hive was incinerated, and collapsed, he nearly lost his helmet and thru Kaplan, he was surprised on how young he looked; like his age when he was with his sister before she got mutated and died. The Umbrella Corp ambushed the trio, but the Federation held them back! Returning the favor, he decided to share his antibodies via blood transfusion into Rick, which worked along with the 3 Light Mights. He couldn't wait to see him race as he hunts down other illegal activity in other planets.
