Charred Mountain is a location in Earthrealm that held a hidden cavern which served as the base for the Red Dragon clan. It is also where the Krimson Forest is located.
Taven went there to find out why the Red Dragon clan was pursuing him after Sub-Zero of the Lin Kuei clan of assassins told him of their location. Taven also fought Fujin here.
Final Kombat[]
Contrary to the game, it was Bi-Han who informed Taven on the Red Dragon headquarters.
Thru the Krimson Forest, Taven managed to reach the hidden headquarters of the Red Dragons. He actually found a few relics scattered throughout the caverns, and then surprisingly met up with his lost brother, Daegon, who looked older to him... He was awakened earlier on the same quest Taven was taking, and HE was the one who organized and led the Red Dragon hunt onto Taven in order to kill him and attain the so-called prize from Blaze. Awestruck, Taven fought off Mavado, but the base itself was soon under fire by a nearby fallen bomb!! The lair collapsed into shambles, and even a few stragglers managed to escape in the neighboring room. Caro was still stuck within his captor amongst the electrical chains until a mysterious Oriental arrived and broke him free! Taven and Caro escaped with their lives, with the latter to a tropical island, and the former back into the forest!
