Chikorita was Zelda II's Starter Pokémon, as a resident of Johto. She was soon found in the Sacred Forest Meadow with the other missing Grass and Bug-Types, minus Bulbasaur and Scyther. She did participate on getting the other 2 Spiritual Stones; she performed better inside Jabu Jabu than in the Dodongo's Cavern.
Chikorita, much like Zelda II, was Akari's Starter Pokémon. She became an instant friend to her, and she named her Freya. One actually evolved into Meganium, but Akari wanted to keep the entire line; she managed to find a Bayleef and Mewtwo helped on breeding another Chikorita. The entire line was involved in Mainframe's liberation from Megabyte; Chikorita teamed up with Bulbasaur and Matrix as they fought Megabyte. Seeing the young 'uns gravely wounded, Meganium gathered energy and formed a Tear beam onto the virus. They soon recovered from the retrieved sundries from the abandoned Stadium.
She also functioned as a brief summon during the Net War.
