Cloyster (Japanese: パルシェン Parushen) is a Water/Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is a mysterious Pokemon that is always inside its spiked purple shell. It is the evolved form of Shellder.

Cloyster evolved after Mewtwo delivered a Water Stone from the Pokemon World to Hyrule in order for Shellder to survive. It was able to adapt in both water and ice, though he was soon frozen in the Ice Cavern till he and the other Ice-Types were saved by Link and Zelda II. He then assisted the heroes as they trekked thru the Water Temple, having Cloyster as a tank offensively and defensively, especially against the Spikes, Shell Blades and Morpha.
