Back in March 2010, TheIkranRider has beaten Final Fantasy IV, the DS version. Because of that, it has inspired her to make a two-parter centering on her favorite character, Cecil Harvey. Without doubt, these take place soon after the events of the game and highlights an upcoming war of the Blue Planet. There were also some elements inspired by other means.
Takes place several months after the Interlude. As Rosa goes into labor then falls into a coma, Cecil's in a race against time and must find a cure located in the discreet island settlement, Tenebre. He reencounters the tribe dwelling there, realizing they have become more aggressive and domineering than before. It is a fatal war that determines the Earth's fate in either Cecil's hands or those belonging to an enticing evil.
Chapter 1[]
Conquest of the Blue Planet (Part 1)
This was during Rosa's completion of her final trimester. Cecil had been suffering from night terrors almost every night, each one he saw Rosa dying from her delivery of their new heir. He soon woke up and snuck out the bedchamber to relax at the throne room.
Meanwhile, Cid was discussing with Biggs and Wedge on any future preparations for their upcoming future king/queen, as well as who'd take over as new Captain of the Red Wings. The engineer roughly came to the conclusion to both of his shipmates.
Nine months pregnant, Rosa met Cecil down at the throne room, concerned on him having a lack of sleep. She offered for him to talk, but he just shrugged it off as just nightmares. She knew it was something serious, but Cecil just wasn't sure if they'll be ready for the arrival of their kin. Rosa assured they would, and Cid had been on top of everything. He barged in, saying they're late for their meeting.
A lone aboriginal wearing feathers marched up to Baron and approached the castle, Cecil somehow sensed something was wrong, and he stepped out. The guards denied any whereabouts of the Paladin, as Chieftain Domin will be pleased to see him. He approached and they gave him an arrowhead crusted with blood; he knew what it meant. He then raced to the town and arrived just before one of the Injukhal was to launch a burning spear! He fought several of them, though one discreet warrior retreated. Cecil discarded the ignited spear into the lake, and Cid was impressed on cleaning their clocks. He too was alarmed the enticing tribesmen had returned!
Suddenly, a Black Mage alerted the duo Rosa became gravely ill! They raced into the bedchamber finding her unconscious, and unresponsive to any of the healing spells! Even her mom, Joanna, was upset by her bedside. Cecil hoped to find a cure, then one of his guards alerted someone was wounded and carried into the infirmary. He then took a look.
It turned out to be a tiny midget hailing from Mythril! He was the governor of the place, and he stated to Cecil the Injukhal attacked, massacred, and torched the village. He also said that, because of Rosa's plight, he figured the only way to cure her is to find the sacred Greens, to which he had a patch at Mythril! Cecil got right on the case, let his colleagues know he's leaving for the cure, and headed to Mythril in the Enterprise!
Chapter 2[]
Conquest of the Blue Planet (Part 2)
Cecil arrived at Mythrill, only to find it completely ablaze!! He automatically came to the rescue, saving as many of the hapless, tiny inhabitants as he could! He then saw a pig, frog, and midget race into the forest, and he headed out! They'd been trapped in a ring of fire by a fallen tree! Then, Cecil, using the Dwarven Axe, caused another to fall and function as a bridge to run across!
The Mythril Brothers were saved and thanked the giant. He soon met up with the short salesman from the Grotto close to the town and he offered him the small patch of Glamour Greens...only to find it incinerated by the fire!! Cecil's hopes on curing Rosa were shattered, although the salesman suggested to head to Tenebre, as that was where the healing plants came from! This was a shocker to the Paladin, as he needed to return to enemy territory! But he had no choice. However, he also wanted to save other nations if they'd be dominated by the Injukhal!
He first arrived at Mysidia, and the village was deserted, having no Mages nor children frolicking around. He headed straight to the Tower of Prayer, yelling for the Elder, only to find the Water Crystal stolen and him lifeless! He came to his side and casted Raise, causing him to stir. He stated that the Injukhal attacked the village, brainwashed the Mages, and captured his children Palom and Porom. Cecil was alarmed and he promised the Elder he'll save the kids, though he should head to Baron via Devil's Road. The head refused to leave, not till the kids are safe. Cecil went underway, and the Elder was lucky his prayer Crystal hadn't been compromised.
He then headed to Fabul which the outer premises were deserted. No monks around, until he got close to the throne room where they were beating their Master and Grandmaster to a bloody pulp!! Cecil immediately intervened and fought off the brainwashed brawlers; recently he attained an augment from Rosa, since they got intimate, known as Rosa's Love. It allowed him to utilize White Magic he couldn't use before, only for a short while. With that, he stood a better chance!
Yang and Sheila were thankful, though alarmed at the damage. He cured them, and they came to as their normal selves. They recalled them listening to distant exotic drums, and they slipped away. Luckily for them, the Wind Crystal hadn't been stolen. Thinking of his welfare, Cecil offered for everyone to evacuate to Baron. Yang thought it'd be a bad idea, especially since they were attacked by Leviathan, though the Paladin doubted since he's a guardian for Rydia. Yang then offered to help Cecil fight the Injukhal and save Rosa, but the Paladin refused as assistance would cause more victims. Instead, he offered him the Master Key; the one he had as he been chosen as the Captain for the Royal Guard. They took baby Ursula and left for sanctuary. Cecil retrieved the elemental Crystal while the Grandmaster stayed with the civilians.
Chapter 3[]
Conquest of the Blue Planet (Part 3)
This takes a detour to a subplot, as Cecil flew to Tenebre while Yang arrived at Baron. He met up with the Elder who has shown him Rosa's ill fate. They happen to notice some commotion downstairs, and the Dragoons were ecstatic to see their Commander, Kain!! They caught up, and even he was awestruck by Rosa still inanimate and pale. Yang explained Cecil's on his way to search for the Glamour Greens to heal her, though they're at Tenebre, home of the dreaded Injukhal. Kain and Yang immediately took arms, along with their fellow warriors.
They took another airship, and wondered if other nations had been conquered, mainly Damcyan, Eblan and Troia. They also wondered what the elemental Crystals'd be used for. They first went to Damcyan and as they sailed over the desert, they heard the enticing drums causing the monks and Dragoons to flee toward them!! The guys stopped them and knocked them back to their senses, then fought of the tribesmen. Unfortunately, a shiny orb was seen, then they fled as they'd already stolen the Fire Crystal!
Meanwhile, Cecil finally headed to Tenebre, though just to be discreet, he landed the Enterprise at a distant, small isle with a Chocobo forest. He caught a wild Black Chocobo and landed within the forest. He slowly wandered thru it, hoping to find the Glamour Greens, though he still kept getting ambushed by the Injukhal. He soon came to a sequoia tree with a hole at the base of its trunk. He went in and made camp to rest.
By daybreak, he resumed his expedition and wound up in a cave. There were some patches of green, only they withered and died. Some Injukhal warriors and condors challenged him, and using Rosa's Love again, he was able to mop the floor with them! There was another warrior who applauded for his success, and he was not loyal to Domin; he was just a defective from his clan as it was overrunning the island. He offered for Cecil to help him as he knew where the Glamour Greens were. The Paladin accepted, and he walked out leaving the REAL Domin behind, snickering that his found pawn shall serve them again!
Chapter 4[]
Conquest of the Blue Planet (Part 4)
Things hadn't boded well as Kain and Yang were heading to Damcyan, only to notice it had been devastated once more since the Red Wing assault, and the Fire Crystal was indeed stolen. They then checked Troia, only to have the Epopts and the guardswomen missing, and the Earth Crystal gone! They're last chance was to head south to Eblan, although the kingdom was still under attack by the Injukhal, their condors, and the brainwashed Ninjas! Edge, Seneschal, and four more Ninjas were getting mangled till Kain, and Yang helped out! They were successful, but the men gave them the slip using the Ninjitsu and Smokescreen!
Edge wasted no time to take the call to arms, and his four disciples, Gekkou, Zangestu, Izayoi, and their young recruit, Kaze, decided to tag along! Edge was uncertain of the new Kaze's skills, and he may not return, but he was willing to show his strength! Seneschal did warn Edge to never lose his cool and be foolish like he was with Rubicante. And so, they boarded the airship!
Meanwhile...Cecil was under Domin's thrall as he declared to his people that all the elemental orbs had been gathered! They had enslaved all nations and made their own army! Everyone arrived, knowing it'd be enough manpower to overthrow Baron. Domin then commandeered his new pawn to offer him the Wind Crystal. The four orbs floated within the firepit, and everyone shall absorb power from them! Domin then began a celebration and each of the tribesmen/women embraced the enticing, evil atmosphere serving their chieftain indefinitely, even Cecil who seemed to be the most enthralled by all this power surging thru him!!
At the Feymarch, the Eidolons were suffering from the antagonizing noise of the drums! They were squealing in misery, even the young Bomb that exploded itself!! Rydia and her friends witnessed the horror, and she and Leviathan came to the conclusion they must fight back and save the world again! The fleet of hope was sailing over Aghart, and the heroes wondered what Domin shall do with the Dark Crystals. Suddenly, Ifirit landed onto the ship with the summoner and Whyt on tow! They offered their help and flew to Tenebre, noticing the empty Enterprise and the dark aura surrounding it.

The Fleet of Hope consisting of our heroes Kain, Yang, Rydia, Edge, her Eidolons and their countrymen
Cecil and Domin settled down with their tribesfolk, and the latter offered the former a golden chalice filled with the Injukhal blood; if he shall drink it, he'll be his forever. He drank the liquid, until he suddenly returned to his senses and was surprised of the bloody faces, and... only to find there was blood inside the chalice! He excused himself, and he wandered aimlessly to a towering limestone structure. He headed in, to find Palom and Porom imprisoned in a shaft filled with exotic drums and bloodstains.

Palom and Porom imprisoned inside one of the Injukhals' death chambers
The twins came to, but they were scared they'd be dogmeat for the tribesmen and the mesmerized Mages. They grew terrified as they noticed someone sneaking onto them. Only it was Cecil freeing them! Porom was tearfully glad, though Palom questioned why he's wearing the enemies' apparel. Porom became desperate, and Cecil offered to Teleport them to Mysidia. He did, just before some onlookers noticed the victims were missing. The Elder was happy to see his kids safe and sound, despite sharing Palom's queries. They then took the Devil's Road, and Cecil sworn to fight back Domin!
Chapter 5[]
Conquest of the Blue Planet (Part 5)
Domin was enraged the hostages escaped, by the Paladin no less. He ordered his countrymen to bring him back alive. Cecil returned to Tenebre, even to the locations he'd been to, only to find no signs of the enemy. His determination grew to stop Domin and save Rosa and the world. Noticing a ruffle in the woods, he followed. Domin continued to rant and search for his pawn, even if it's to use the drums again. Right out of nowhere, Cecil emerged, then the chieftain challenged him to a duel. They clashed, with the Excalibur against Domin's spiked club! As they stopped after several blows, Domin became more intrigued, then he exhaled a toxic gas, causing Cecil to sap away his strength, known as Exhaust.
He then ordered his men to beat the drums, allowing Cecil to succumb to his thrall. Just then, the island was pulsating, and the shockwaves hit the airship directly, causing it to take a nosedive. The crew survived but were stranded. The Eidolons scattered from their angsts, and Cecil made a kowtow to his chieftain... Only to have light shimmer thru as a harp was playing a familiar tune! Cecil realized it belonged to Edward's harp!!
The bard was soon held captive, and there was little for Cecil to do. Till Yang and the others made their mark! War had been declared on Tenebre, and both sides fought one another to the death! Utilizing all their skills, including magic, martial arts, spears, swords and ninjitsu. Cecil's only target remained to be Domin as they duked it out! The Paladin began to have the advantage, and he suggested Domin to run away and never return. Unfortunately, it was a trick as Domin blinded him and forced him off a cliff to the choppy ocean! Luckily, Leviathan caught him in its maw with Rydia riding it! The Eidolons knew of their malice, and they must put an end to Domin's regime!
Eventually, Domin met up with Cecil again, only to use Exhaust to stun him and the drums to use him as a puppet. Rydia casted Stop onto the men, disabling the spell. Though he was still vulnerable. Until a special someone ambushed Domin from above, Kain!! They vowed to put an end to him and save Rosa together, just as they did against the Mist Dragon and Zeromus!
Finale[]
Conquest of the Blue Planet (Finale!)
Cecil and Kain planned to put an end to Domin, only to have him transform into his altered form, the beastly winged demon, Deimos! They gave him everything they had, despite his Exhaust, Firaja, and other ailments. Cecil activated Rosa's Love as protection and healing. The Excalibur was also knocked from Cecil's hands, leaving him vulnerable. At least Kain sill had his Abel Lance. Soon, his attacks bounced back including Firaja, as only Cecil heard a soothing voice belonging to Rosa! As if she was watching the battle from inside him! She activated spell after spell including her own White Magic. She was just buying them time to conjure her might, allowing her and Cecil to use Holy. Kain came to the offensive while Cecil and Rosa were conjuring it. They soon did, and Domin was down!
Moments later, he stood, only to find his human vessel wrecked. Cecil reprimanded he had lost his power over his slaves, and he must free them! He undoubtedly refused, and Cecil pitied him, telling him to surrender and the stakes were clearly against him. His hotheadedness got the best of him, only to be entangled by a long, dark tail belonging to a serpent, the Shadow Dragon, Golbez's creature!! As if he was controlling it, he literally entangled Domin, and bit him down with his own Black Fang causing instant death and dropping him into the ocean! Rydia, Kain, Edward, and the others were aghast to see it, though in Golbez's voice, it assured Cecil he was here to help him out. He then faded saying farewell.
They observed the ground sparkling brightly and became lush. Cecil knew right then they were the missing Glamour Greens. One of the shamans volunteered to use them and heal Rosa, before he and his people shall fade from existence. Cecil immediately led everyone back to Baron!
Meanwhile, Rosa's vitals were starting to fade, and Cid was alarmed of allowing a red devil to come. Cecil offered he's only here to help. He made the brew as he borrowed Sheila's tea and grinded the Greens. Rosa drank the solution, and moments later, she finally came to!! Cecil tearfully reunited with her, only to find the shaman had disappeared before his eyes! Then, Rosa's delivery was kicking in!
Everyone was standing by at the courtyard, awaiting the baby's cry, while Kain was atop of one of the steeples. Soon enough, there were some murmurs, and Joanna announced they have a son, the prince of Baron was born!! Cecil and Rosa then gave him the name, Ceodore! Rydia and Cid welcomed him into the world, then Rosa rested while Cecil carried him to his crib downstairs. He was finally able to fulfill his promise to Rosa and raising their heir in a more peaceful world.
Trivia[]
- This is Part 2 of Ikran's two-parter epic for Final Fantasy IV, taking place after Trials of a King.
- Just like the last epic, this has the Injukhal, as well as a few references to State of Fear (created by Michael Crichton), Peter Pan (1958), Lion King, Mortal Kombat (1995), and the Sesame Street African Dance in the Park.
- It's possible that Rosa suffering from the delivery would be inspired by Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.
- This takes place after the Interlude, and ironically this was made way back in 2010, before it existed! Then, later developed more after the Interlude came to be.
- Ikran had a couple collaborators backing her up from DeviantArt, BloodofCerberus and Azurelly. Especially when the latter helped her on creating Deimos, which was similar to the undead Vayne!
- Some trolls keep bringing up the questionable term, redskins, as offensive, which wasn't Ikran's intention. She still likes the indigenous anyway, and it had no malicious intent. No better than people being described as blacks, whites, etc. So, she had grown bitter over the flame wars and made sure she wouldn't use it again due to others stirring up drama, even though it was only used as a description for her OCs since they'd never been in a Final Fantasy game to begin with.
