Cosmos is the goddess of harmony who opposes Chaos in the original Dissidia Final Fantasy and its prequel Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy. She is one of few completely original characters to appear in the Dissidia series, the others being Feral Chaos, Materia and Spiritus.
Cosmos (Dissidia Final Fantasy)
Body of Dark, Heart of Light[]
Cosmos was seen with the Warrior at Order's Sanctuary. She saw Kain and Yuna take Cecil to her and she granted them permission. She sensed the troubled Paladin of his dualities, and he can become a full-fledged warrior and key to victory if he can control both sides. She purified Cecil which gave him confidence and comfort.
She was also there when Cecil and Warrior were doing a tough spar between them, until Cecil in a desperate attempt to win over the Manikin, transformed to his Dark Knight form nearly killing him! Both Cosmos and Firion halted the duel!
She was then seen during Cecil's night terror as he met her at the top of the Edge of Madness where Chaos sat! Cosmos reprimanded Chaos as he demanded to have Cecil join his ranks even when his intentions were already purified by her! To make him suffer, Chaos incinerated Cosmos in a wall of flame!
Dissidia Shadowgate[]
Cosmos sent the remaining 9 warriors, minus the Warrior, to their final mission at Shadowgate to prevent the warlock lord from raising the Behemoth and wreak unrepairable havoc on all worlds. She was also seen in the heavens as she gave Firion a choice: to either stay with the endless fields of roses and with perpetual peace or fight on and defeat the Behemoth. Firion eventually decided on the latter, and Cosmos wished him luck. It turned out that with her powers divided to the 9 Crystals, as well as the spheres and diamond ring, the energy combined to revive Firion, assemble the Staff of Ages, and put the warlock and Behemoth out of their misery! They soon revived the other fallen warriors. At the end, Firion thanked Cosmos for all the encouragement/support he'd gained from her and his friends, even when trying to fulfill his dream.
Revelations of a Warrior[]
Her name was mentioned here, as well as the Goddess, when the Warrior regrets/regresses over its actions as a planet destroyer and a tool for Chaos.
Trivia[]
- Ikran really despises Cosmos, as she considers her to be a paperweight, especially in Dissidia 012 how worthless she was in the main story, and how preachy she was in the original. Considering she's just a Manikin, modeled after Cid of the Lufane's wife, she never considers her to be a goddess, nor the equivalent to Chaos.
