The Cybernetic Heart Unit is the artificial heart of the Red Dragon clan's loyal operative Hsu Hao. It first appeared along with him in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.
Many years ago, Hsu Hao had been part of a covert division of the Chinese Military that experimented with cybernetic implants to enhance physical performance and endurance. The same surgeon that operated on Hsu Hao later worked on Kano's eye implant.
In Mortal Kombat X, Kano's heart implant has a similar appearance to Hsu Hao's, although it is unclear if the heart is physically implanted within Kano's chest or merely being worn over his chest, due to him visually removing the unit's power core.
Ikran's MK Khronology[]
It was first mentioned in Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Part II when Aiko was unable to disable Sektor's artificial chest cavity; the self-destruct function was there, but she was too overwhelmed by the clangs and the fact there's an explosive! Kung Lao and Nightwolf helped her concentrate her energy weakening the assassin, before he activated the bomb as Smoke made him decimate in the air! In MK: Vengeance, Aiko was too frightened to affect Hsu Hao's artificial heart since she felt it was an explosive, luckily Jax was able to reach into his chest and tear it out! The traitor was still desperately chasing after it before they were caught in the blast! Somehow it was still attached to both assailants during the Battle of Armageddon, although they were both permanently disabled and destroyed in Blaze's firestorm.
