This was a crossover fanfic created by TheIkranRider. She came up with the concept for it ever since Summer 2002 after she managed to see the first 2 episodes of Daemon Rising, Season 4 of ReBoot; she never saw the last 2 till she discovered Kaaza. Around the same time as The Bouncer with the official decision with Dragon Ball Z, she'd been brainstorming which fighter from Super Smash Bros Melee would have their way against the Word. Ever since 2011, it was created but was unfinished until 2017.
Chapter 1[]
Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Parts 1 and 2)
It was soon after the events of Mainframe's restart from its system crash as Samus was leaving Mainframe and seeking another bounty. She suddenly received a distress call from Dot in which she alerted her that the Guardian Collective had turned rogue and the rumored supervirus, Daemon, was the culprit. The signal soon went dead as they took over the control tower and opened a Door to the Net!
Chapter 2[]
After brief scrimmages with hordes of Web Creatures, Samus reached Mainframe then signaled Akari who was evacuating from the Stadium and is also on the midst of growing pains wanting to give her Pokémon to Mewtwo full-time. She confirmed the rumors of the supervirus were true and Samus took her up to her ship via tractor beam. They've observed the assault even when a Game Cube landed. Samus recalled that Bob may be in trouble due to his broken merged Key Tool...
Chapter 3[]
Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 3)
As Bob was weakening while containing his kind in energy bubbles. Hex caught him, went to the Kitts Sector, and Hex's relaxation was interrupted by the irritating Mike the TV! Bob was caught by a Zoom Room set by Daemon after her associate, Daecon, informed they've locked on the remaining clean Guardian's icon, the Messenger so that he'd form portals with his merged Key Tool and spread the Word and her viral infection.
She made her first catch of the day, although Hexadecimal used her viral abilities to switch Bob out with Mike which he arrived at the Super Computer and its Clock Room. He was nervous meeting Daemon, even creeped out by the Sentries, before she spread out her infection onto him! He declared he's heard the Word and kept begging that Bob was there. Unbeknownst to the enemies, Mr. Game & Watch was spying on them from an upper portion of the Tower; Samus wondered who sent him, and he made charades it was Master Hand. She was also complacent on Mike being caught as Akari chastised he can be the blabbermouth revealing the heroes' weaknesses, so she'd gain the homefield advantage. Samus recalled Dot's advice on concealing Systems with a Firewall to save them from infection, so after the Guardians were ejected from the System by Hex, she sent Akari down while she cloaked her ship as she'd head to the Smash System to gather recruits, before their world'd meet the same fate. Mainframe was immediately sealed by a Firewall. Things went awry as Hex transformed into a Sprite and the Nulls were acting erratically encasing her in a Null Cocoon. As Bob tried to save her, his energy was immediately drained and Akari hollered the medics to take them away!
They've went to the War Room of the Principal Office and Phong wanted to show Young Enzo a file consisting of his life. Akari was about to go with him until they were startled the Cocoon taking form as Welman Matrix, who was once the Null, Nibbles. Meanwhile, Samus was heading en route to the Smash System in a race against time as Matrix and AndrAIa were sealing Systems.

Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 4)
This is where Daemon Rising ends and Cross Nodes starts.
Back at the Super Computer, Daemon was having a sermon about her chorused by the Sentries and having Mike express his gratitude. Mr. Game & Watch was holding his ears in irritation that his black stature has turned into red and black, and that his teeny ears were being covered. Nanos later, the song ended, and he observed lines of Guardians holding some weird objects which turned green upon Daemon's infectious contact. Daecon was about to brief her bad news.
Meanwhile, Matrix and AndrAIa were activating Firewalls around sealed Systems in the Net, while Phong, Mouse, and Bob were monitoring their progress deleting her infection of the pathways. Dot was preoccupied with her father being involved with the Null Cocoon although Bob and Mouse were curious as to why Guardians were entering Systems thru Doors instead of portals. Dot mentioned it's a weakness they must exploit, but she was summoned by one of her Binome troops to check on the Cocoon with Bob; little did the group knew that Akari was monitoring everything to Samus. The bounty hunter already knew that the Key Tools must've abandoned their Guardians upon infection.
Nanos later, Samus arrived at Peach's Castle, where Mario, Luigi and Peach were fighting off Bowser. Mario had the upper hand although Samus fired at the Koopa and knocked him off with a plasma cannon. There was a stretcher held by Goombas but they were squashed by his weight. She landed and discussed the war at hand, until Master Hand abruptly appeared. She mentioned they must recruit as many Smashers as possible before their System is sealed or worse if the whole Net should be under her thrall. According to Game & Watch's surveillance, Samus receeived a pic showing the Guardians holding egg-like items. She then wondered to Master Hand what they were...
Matrix and AndrAIa chased a Guardian into the Satellite System as she intruded the control tower and deleted everyone in it. The pair made her halt as she reached its core, AndrAIa never wanted to hurt her, and the Guardian never cared while being obsessed with the Word being with her. Matrix was growing irritable about to set Gun, till the Game Sprite decided to interrogate her about the supervirus. The dastardly Guardian only just dropped the unusual object into the Core and deleted herself. Daemon and Daecon were spying on the pair's progress protecting hubs, though the archnemesis looked at her Hourglass saying it's already too late. Daecon convinced carrying out her function'd be impossible without a portal, in which Daemon replied to the Messenger should help them. Daecon declared that Mainframe must fall, and Daemon suggested to lock onto their icons to make them have the time to hear the Word. Angered, Game & Watch finally abandoned his post as he saw Guardians board their fleet ships; he leapt and used a black parasol to help him glide safely. He landed then blended into the opaque underside as one lifted off.
Meanwhile, in the Read Only Room, Enzo was busy watching a File about him losing a Game against Zaytan. Hack and Slash became emotional feeling sorry for him being trapped in the Game and for Dot's mourning. Akari was just munching on data chips and Enzo convinced everything was alright as he compiled up, though the bots argued never to mention Megabyte's name out of fear. Phong went in on the conversation, but due to him addressing as Young Enzo the kid grew irate to stop calling him that, as he watched everything he did, declaring he's a Guardian with a cool gun, and that no one should call him Little Enzo again but rather Little Matrix. Phong was fazed but not the group, not even Akari. She asked who his father, Welman, was, then he flashed back to the incident when the Twin City's destroyed with him. He, Dot and Frisket felt the shockwaves and the edges of Mainframe were destroyed; little did he knew it was the birth of Megabyte and Hexadecimal! There were Tears around, but no Welman, then Bob appeared as a Guardian wanting to help. Struck by her loss, Dot blamed Bob for the damage. Enzo became distraught never seeing her dad again nor have many friends and have him churn to a Null. Akari wondered when this is over, Samus may find a way to restore him, she was a bounty hunter after all. Another Game Cube was about to land, and while Enzo pursued it, Akari alerted Samus once more.

Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 5a)
Samus was discussing with Master Hand how he knew what those Seeds were. He hesitated before he described himself as the official Guardian of the Smash System! A while back, he enlisted himself when the Academy was going on at the Super Computer, as he wanted more power and attributes at his disposal. While he did pass with flying colors, he wanted to do more as a hand. He actually stole one of the available Key Tools then merged with it before he left, thus being capable on mending Tears, forming portals, the like. Samus was alarmed that Daemon can be after him detecting his Code. The deity assured she doesn't know that, and he ordered the quartet to find fellow warriors, then declared those who won't fight shall continue the tourney, much to Luigi's dismay fighting off their enemies. Samus shall go to Cornerian City and recruit several fighters, while Mario'd go to Hyrule and Big Blue as Peach shall travel with Luigi. They declared, Go SMASHERS! before they were off, and Master Hand depended on them.
Samus was the first to gather the most Smashers as she first headed to the Great Fox soaring thru the city. Wolfens and Arwings were periodically firing onto Fox and Falco sparring with each other, that was until her ship landed and she shouted over the ruckus there's work that needs to be done with their System being infected by a supervirus; the duo seemed intrigued. They rushed down the corridor to the cockpit and spread the word to Peppy, Slippy and ROB who grew just as determined. Fox and Falco decided to follow Samus and gather more recruits to save their System!
She then headed to Onett where Mewtwo was sparring with Ness and training him to absorb energy thru his Psi Magnet to heal himself. He was struggling to understand it when Samus landed. The bounty hunter alerted the duo and hearing Akari being involved, as well as Matrix, the mentor didn't hesitate to help out and save the grown Sprite as he failed before against Zaytan. He hoped that Ness would master his technique. She had the 2 warriors go in the cockpit before she went to Dream Land as Kirby was combatting the Whispy Woods Tree. Samus warped Kirby up before he was gonna be blown away.
Mario went to the decimated Hyrule Temple and observed Link assist Zelda defeat Ganondorf. The Hylian pair agreed to help their System but not until he finds his younger self in Termina. So, they headed to the Great Bay and found him on the docks near Turtle Island. The isle actually shot out the trio via Warp Pipe! The boy was overcome by nostalgia seeing his older self and an older Zelda! They explained they'd need his assistance during the Net War.
Luigi and Peach wandered into a jungle where the Super Happy Tree stood and then found Yoshi munching on a honeydew melon from it. Luigi asked if he remembered him saving the dino from Bowser, to which he'd no recollection; Peach concluded this can just be a different Yoshi. They decided to bring him along, coincidentally he had nothing better to do.
Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 5b)
Mario and the Hylian trio wound up at the Big Blue track, and the plumber noticed the Star they picked up was a Warp Star than the Power Stars he's familiar with. Little did they knew, there's a race going on and several machines were heading their way! They immediately hopped onto a floating platform before they'd get run over! By then, the coast was clear, and Mario mentioned they must find Captain Falcon, with his machine consisting of an elongated hood and the numerals 07. He jumped onto the track much to the trio's alarm, although Falcon just finished his victory lap, and they rushed over. The champion was irritated he won't receive his winnings since there's a war to fight. Since Samus was involved and they'd rendezcous at the Mushroom Kingdom, he wouldn't mind having his winnings delivered to his hideout and relieved it wouldn't involve Black Shadow.
In the Archanea desert, Marth was still lamenting over his losses from Link, and his jealousy that the snarky Hylian earned more fame than him. But his negativity burst as he saw and reunited with Roy! Luigi wished his brother'd be just as fond of him. He broke the reunion explaining they've a war against the supervirus, but Marth was perplexed. Instead of making people sick, Roy said that she'd infect everyone in the System and soon the Net, to bend to her will like how they lost Lycian. That made Marth had a change of heart since he'd have his chance to prove himself and he found and flew with his wyvern who'd find his way back, while Yoshi followed after growing wings by holding a blue shell in his mouth.
Fox's Arwing headed north to the frigid Ice Mountain as Nana and Popo were ascending to the summit in a friendly race. He had to hurry while he shouted over the arctic air, and the Ice Climbers, who thought it'd be another great adventure, decided to tag along.
There was one more fighter left, and the Blue Falcon headed to the Kongo Jungle. Mario checked out the upper floor of his treehouse and Donkey Kong was sound asleep. Mario tried some fireballs but were swapped away like flies, even his fighting stance never got his attention. Falcon had an idea to wake up the big ape, then he was startled as he noticed the fragrance of his bananas fading away! He chased after the scent which was the Blue Falcon taking away a bunch of bananas. DK made the machine screech to a halt as he landed in front of it, then pushed and thrown it back a few feet! He chastised what they're gonna do with his precious fruit and wound up for his Giant Punch, although Falcon was quicker as he landed a strong Falcon Punch onto him, knocking him asunder causing a beehive to fall onto him! He'd gotten stung and begged not to do anything with his bananas! They assured it was a decoy and they needed to wake him up for the upcoming war to protect their System, and his food supply and his clan. DK was reluctant, but he rode atop the fuselage to the rendezvous point.
Chapter 6[]
Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 6)
All the Smashers united at Peach's Castle, and a lot of them were anxious on waiting for Master Hand to give them further info. Unfortunately, he came too late for Mario, Fox and others noticed there was a sphere of dark fire in the sky forming; sure enough, the System was encased in a Firewall. The team grew hopeless with no way out, until Master Hand shown up; as a living Key Tool he can form portals from Tears in which they became skeptical. Samus scanned for one and there was volatile energy inside the steeple; Peach accepted if they must save the world, she won't mind. Master Hand formed a portal, but it can only go into the Net, as Mainframe was already sealed away. Before any of the heroes boarded their vessels, the deity stopped them and sensed something was awry.
Matrix and AndrAIa were in the Desert Port System following the trashed port as the Guardians calling card. The Game Sprite hesitated heard a power buildup from the control tower, but it was too late as it was still functional and sealed the Door aloft. They were then ambushed by several Guardian ships with Game & Watch observing in one.
Back in the Principal Office, Akari was so distracted by the data Samus was sending her that she'd failed to notice Enzo leave for the Game Cube. She shortly heard his cries for Mouse to put him down, then Phong informed her that Bob and Dot are trapped in a Game, he's unwell, and there was a countdown reaching 0 on Matrix and AndrAIa being trapped in the Net. Curious, Akari headed out and as she followed to the Kitts Sector the Game was already over with no nullified sector! She spotted Hex looking drastically different and unaware of the Null Cocoon. Bob was still wavering, and Dot was desperate for her to make a portal; unfortunately, as a Sprite, she lost her powers. Akari pointed to Bob's defective vehicle though her driving was as bad as Dissidia Duodecim's plot.
The Sprites were hit, and Game & Watch followed them to a sealed garage. The Guardians were awaiting their surrender. Hex was able to park atop the Principal's Office albeit poorly, but Bob was still too weak to make a portal. The pair figured out a way to deal with the 78 Guardians (AndrAIa counted) without using Gun and they were on a search-and-retrieve mission rather than deletion, she actually found an exoskeleton in which she and Matrix used, then he noticed Turbo amongst the fray! They began their attack though the renegade was outraged on his betrayal working for Daemon; he coaxed him to stop fighting as he did all his life, and The Word should soothe him. Daemon ordered Daecon to lock onto Turbo's icon and send a Zoom Room before her cronies'd get deleted. AndrAIa was overwhelmed by the melee, but just as when the Zoom Room was coming down, AndrAIa shoved Matrix, with Turbo and Game & Watch in tow, into the new portal back to Mainframe. The portal closed with AndrAIa taken, then infected, in the Super Computer, and Akari thanks to Game and Watch's touchpad saw it all! Akari chastised Turbo's screwed without his Key Tool, Copland, and served him right. Mouse analyzed the situation as each of the sealed Systems were re-infected, courtesy of the Seeds the Guardians planted in their Cores!
The situation seemed hopeless, even for Master Hand. He actually had a change of heart and coaxed the Smashers to never fight back as they'd be infected easily. They must never leave the System, then he dissipated. The Smashers then reminisced on their past failures, but Falco wasn't buying it and was eager to fight back, and wondered what Daemon looks like. His fiery determination convinced them they must head to Mainframe, and there was a large audience of their allies cheering them on the pavement below! Slippy offered to use his cloaking prototypes, the Toads desired to protect their kingdom, the Sages wanted to lend their power to the Hylians, Ike wanted Marth and Roy to never let their civilians down, the Pokémon grew ecstatic on combatting again and even Pikachu talked! Peace, prosperity, freedom and for their loved ones is what they truly fight for rather than in shabby tourneys against each other! With a united front, everyone boarded their vessels and went thru the Net!
Chapter 7[]
Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 7)
This was when Cross Nodes ends and What's Love Got to Do with it? (Absolutely nothing!) begins.
Akari downloaded the data from the Principal Office Archives as she ripped a DVD for the Smashers to discover who Daemon was. This actually started with Matrix and Marill's mission to retrieve Glitch from a thief Binome and soon met Turbo within the saloon of the Desert Port System. The two Arwings, piloted by Fox and Falco, the Falcon Flyer with Falcon and Ness, the Warp Star with Kirby riding it and the telepath, Mewtwo, also received the intel. Samus vowed to break the Firewall that Mouse set over Mainframe, but her top priority was to halt Daemon and her cronies at all costs while protecting her dear friends, Bob and Akari. Nanos later Akari described each of the Mainframe warriors, so the Smashers'd know what they're dealing with IF they'd get infected. They've exchanged info and probable strategies, but unfortunately, Game & Watch's monitoring over the Super Computer didn't give them much luck on how to deal with Daecon and the accompanying Sentries...
All the sudden, Samus' alarm in her ship went off, and the team spotted the Guardian Fleet! They fought them off seamlessly with everything they had, and they knew their war was just beginning. Alas, they panicked as they'd noticed the green aura close in on them, with a neon shockwave at the end; Samus knew already it was Daemon's infection that already consumed other Systems and the startled to break formation, never letting it touch them! The Falcon Flyer managed to split and wound up inside another System for cover!
Meanwhile, Akari and Game & Watch observed Turbo being imprisoned but was still smiling eerily for his so-called savior. He was trying to convince Mouse that Ray heard the Word too and wants her to fly into his disgusting arms! Dot intervened believing it never to be true! Bob was behind her. Mouse was too impatient to stand by idly as Dot'd interrogate Turbo and she stormed out with Matrix to pursue Ray and AndrAIa. Turbo was ecstatic as he described him as Daemon's Messenger, to make portals to the sealed System to become infected and it proved that his theories were correct on viruses being good. Akari was pissed trying to believe that and also relate to Matrix. Dot asked if he's secure, Mouse did a thorough search and never had his Key Tool; it was no doubt it was abandoned, and since Glitch was merged, Turbo stated Bob's the ideal Messenger. Dot heard enuf and wanted him to try and erase the infection with his Code, but...only partially. Game & Watch slapped him several times. Turbo stated Bob was needed to complete Daemon's function and bring unity to the Net which Akari never believed.
Akari contacted Samus and updated her on Turbo's condition, as Bob can only heal partially. Samus sighed he can only do so much, and she lost the Falcon Flyer and the infection's on their six en route to Mainframe. Akari prayed for their safety. Upset by the disdained report from the Guardians unable to hack the Firewall, he suddenly saw the long ship land. Falcon and Ness headed out but were soon ambushed by Sentries. Falcon took up the brute against their longswords, even Ness at times with his bat, Yo-yo, and sporadic psi energy. They had to be conservative as there were no healing items, nor projectiles to convert to healing energy, much as those stamina tests. Their teamwork did pay off, until Daecon pounded beside them! He was impressed on their fighting prowess, and it'd be a shame to delete them, so he suggested to join the Word, but they were quizzical. He demonstrated as he tapped his rod to make the infection spread. Recognizing it and Samus' warnings, the pair evacuated to the Blue Falcon and sped away, even leap off the Tower! Falcon snapped a finger signaling the Flyer to catch them in its maw! They already flew away from the System!
Meanwhile, AndrAIa was discussing the day she first met Enzo, a boy wanting to impress the girl as a so-called Gaurdian; she knew he was exaggerating but it was love at first sight. Daecon returned and Daemon asked if he loves her, he replied yes since she's the Word, in which AndrAIa said it wasn't the same. He informed the supervirus of his failure to catch the 2 intruders, she asked what of her Messenger, to which he sulked that he failed... Daemon announced, Cron, 101.
Daecon counted down, 101, 100, 11, 10, 01...0. in which his Code dissipated, and the evil wretch absorbed it!! Samus updated Akari, to which she was relieved of Falcon and Ness; however, the 2 Arwings separated... She suddenly saw Mainframe be online for a short while, as a ship escaped with Matrix and Mouse inside. Both females worried of their fate as they'd hack into the System for sure.... Samus then changed the subject asking Akari when Bob merged with Glitch, as a way to combat Mouse's Mainframe defenses over Web Creatures. She believed Glitch was broken by Megabyte and not fully functional, so if Bob'd use too much of his energy, he'd die suffering from deletion by complete defragmentation... Both females were bewildered and must somehow cure the infected differently, until then, Akari checked on Fox.
Matrix breached the Tower and loaded Gun to aim at Daemon, but the female in front was actually AmdrAIa. She wanted him to meet Her Lady who was awaiting him from above. Matrix shot a bullet which stopped, exploded, and was blown to dust. Mouse made an aerial assault with her katana, but it shattered on her shoulder. She touched the floor spreading the infection onto the failing heroes! Mouse and Matrix were subdued, Mike met up with them reunited, and Daemon suggested for Mouse to break thru.
Turbo was miffed Bob was too peaceful for his own good sympathizing viruses; Bob stated Hex had changed, despite Mainframe being a failed experiment. Turbo argued it's the entire Net than a sealed System and Bob hadn't changed since Kilabyte escaped to Mainframe destroying Dixon and the Twin City! That was when Enzo and Dot met him. Bob couldn't believe so much has changed since, but Turbo thought the Net changed too much, to be policed was the Guardians' function and unity was a way Daemon can help. Bob said it was the infection talking, as the Net's supposed to be diverse. Turbo was anguishing why didn't his cure worked...
Chapter 8[]
Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 8)
This was when the events of the final episode, Sacrifice, and the official Net War begins!
Samus was still traversing to Mainframe with Mewtwo and the Warp Star still with her. She contacted Dot of their progress, and she grew alarmed that Mouse'd hack open Mainframe's Firewall as Mouse, Mike, Matrix and AndrAIa were heading en route. Samus assured she's bringing reinforcements with her there and shall make her move when the time comes. Unfortunately, the infected cronies were ahead of them, courtesy of the split from her infecting the Net, making Dot and Specky frantic. Outside the hectic War Room, Enzo was playing catch with Welman Matrix, known as a humanoid made of Nulls, thanks to Hex manipulating them albeit slightly as a Sprite. She was able to have Nibbles, who was Welman, be the brain of the figure. Enzo admired it, then played with Frisket, and Akari met Welman while wondering of the Gateway being built; he explained it's to evacuate the city once Daemon entered, and it reminded her of the time after Electrode was destroyed and Charizard, Dratini, and Dragonair followed Megabyte and the first Enzo to the Silicon Tor testing out the Gateway if it'd lead to the Super Computer which was successful. Her reverie was interrupted by a second Firewall activated by Dot to bide them more time and Akari was contacted by Samus saying she's on her way from a lightyear behind.
As they entered Mainframe's view and spotted the Guardians, Falco and Kirby offered to deploy and shoot them down. Which resulted in Samus making the decision for Link to enter Falco's Arwing where Marth and Roy were still onboard, much to the former's dismay. Kirby stayed with the mothership and Daemon prompted the Guardians to go after the bird and make him hear the Word. The way was clear slightly and Samus awaited her to enter Mainframe once the Firewalls are down!
Dot wasn't happy on Bob's plans to evacuate the city, till she confronted Hex playing with Enzo. The Game Cube was about to land, and Dot volunteered Enzo to enter the Game and stay in it until he compiles up to be Matrix like his other counterpart! He gladly accepted, much to Bob's discomfort thinking there'd be another way. Dot wanted Hack, Slash and Frisket go with him, and she depended on him to succeed. The Gateway she wanted to reprogram for Bob to enter it so he could duplicate to multiple targets for Daemon to track, and she hoped the Net'd recover from her infection. Alas, the walls were down, and Daemon broke thru! Dot prompted everyone to prepare the Gateway. Daemon met her messenger, the prestigious Dot and called Hex an abomination, then spread out her infection easily onto the denizens! Everyone was brainwashed much to Samus' fear! Luckily Akari frantically grabbed Mr. Game & Watch, hit the large button and went thru the activated portal! This took her directly to another System, possibly cuz she slipped onto another key...
Meanwhile, inside the Game, Enzo, the bots and the dog weren't affected but wound up in a techy, futuristic city! They shortly saw an Arwing land beside them and out popped Fox and Link Jr. as they met the group. He was at first alarmed they were users, in which they became perplexed but introduced themselves. All a sudden, the quartet rebooted which was new to them, the pair followed, and there were two phantasms, a fox with an arm gun, a tomboy gifted in martial arts, and a boy with a huge sword! There was a boom, and a power plant was activated, so they went to it thinking the User'd be there. The team faced off with the guards and the ghosts were nice distractions till they'd reached the control room where they faced a large Scorpion! Fox was able to take it out before he activated the destruction sequence, summoned his Arwing, and soon followed a dark archangel! Thinking that'd be the User, they proceeded, and Fox convinced Enzo to never stay in the Game and help fight the virus with his allies proving himself his true worth like his brother! Thanks to the Arwing's weaponry, and Enzo finishing the job with an Omnislash, the Game was over! The bots were shocked Enzo chose to win instead of following Dot's orders, as he never wanted to leave his family. They noticed Daemon infected the System and she's making Bob form portals to spread the Word!
Nanos prior, as Mike, Matrix, Mouse and AndrAIa entered via Zoom Room, Samus declared a tourney with her united allies; if she wins, her Messenger shall be prevented, if Daemon wins, she'd be free to infect their System. Samus chose Luigi as Daemon picked Mike to start the infantry, but the plumber was wimpy as Mike irritated him with loud sounds; Mario pitched in for the sake of his brother and easily won, beating Mike away with a star finish!
Chapter 9[]
Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Part 9)

DK combatted Dot, with the fat bazooka on her person, knocked it off and pummeled her till she retreated into the Principal Office! Knowing it'd be a trap, DK caught up and knocked her unconscious and caused a ruckus in the War Room! He went to the top, though Mouse's lacerations from her katana and her brawn was too much; Samus took him to her ship for recovery.
Enzo won the Game and the group spotted Daemon using Bob while Mouse was hacking away DK before Yoshi intervened. Luckily Samus saved him as he was falling and brought him to the ship for recovery. Enzo then changed his format as he grew tired on being called Matrix nor lost in the Games; instead, he double-clicked and turned into Guardian Matrix! Unfortunately, Fox and Link Jr. made way to their Arwing while Slash was sliced apart by Mouse, and Enzo was hapless trying to confront Matrix and AndrAIa.
Yoshi yanked away the weapon and was more merciless and agile. Samus eventually tossed up a Blue Koopa Shell, enabling him to fly and perform aerial assaults, though the eggs were reduced into omelets. He spat it out onto Mouse's face and Samus tossed up a Red Shell enabling the dino fiery breath! He finished her off with a powerful Yoshi Bomb causing her to fall off the roof to the ground below! Samus caught her with her grappling beam and declared she did enough damage to the System double-crossing THEM instead of her being double-crossed by viruses! Mewtwo rendered the hacker unconscious before she lost her cool. Little did they knew that Akari was playing around the motherboard and providing them with items for the Smashers' success! They actually spotted Ness and Falcon there!
Yoshi was blasted off the roof, though the landing was harmless. A Null latched onto Samus and Mewtwo forced it off, Peach was fighting Hex as she countered with a golf club, even using Toad as a shield, but was too hapless, then Zelda, or rather Sheik, intervened and won over her easily. Hex wanted to forgive Daemon, but she just knocked her into a wall! The empress signaled the Guardian to make the final portal at the Smash System!! Akari noticed she cheated! Samus intervened and Daemon tried to persuade that her time was of the essence while the Guardian was wrapped in her grappling beam like a hostage. She hesitated and declared that if she loses to her best friend, Daemon'd infect it. Akari, watching it all, sent a Zoom Room as she learnt to export files, and sent a Zoom Room to the Smash System, in Brinstar Depths! Mewtwo distracted her, the Falco's Arwing shot her a few times.
Samus declared she'd rather have him rest in pieces than be at peace with the Word! She fought him with her arsenal, even Kraid intervened as he tilted the grounds with a swipe, and Akari sent Pikachu to weaken Bob rather than him using his powers. Eventually, it was too much, and Samus fired a charged plasma beam at him, then grabbing him and yanking him back before he'd fly asunder. Akari sent the combatants back.
AndrAIa was on the prowl, till Kirby descended from a Star and Akari took them to the Clock Room. Kirby took out his Hammer and it was on! He held his own well with his decent moves, even swallowed and transformed into his enemy, to which Akari warned she was infected and must rid it, even though he mimicked her sharp, piercing nails! Unfortunately, just as he was cornered, Akari loaded him a Warp Star. He took it, with AndrAIa thinking he's a coward, until WHAM! Kirby knocked AndrAIa's code out of her upon impact!!

Daemon Rising with a SMASH! (Finale!)
As they heard the commotion and threats that Matrix would hurt Frisket, as he bit and held his arm, Nana and Popo pitched in but were quickly intimidated and beaten by his strength. That was until Falco ambushed him with a Fire Bird. He was more of a match with his agility and brawn, even deflecting Gun's bullet to hit his icon, which made the cure activated, and Falco finished him off with a charge!
Enzo and Frisket were flabbergasted, then Samus rushed over noticing the commotion. Falco assured he's fine and he explained that as his Arwing was being chased by the infection, he bailed to the nearest System, which was the wrecked Desert Port. He actually dropped off Link, Roy and Marth before the 39 Guardians caught up with them. The swordsmen refused to surrender to the Word and capture, and Marth hoped people would watch him since the hijacked System was still open to the Net. They bashed thru them almost seamlessly, and Akari participated giving the true heroes nourishment items and even Poké Balls encasing Mewtwo's Scyther (another one from his evolved Scizor), and later the Legendary Birds, Articuno and Zapdos! With their help, they were all comatosed. Before Akari left the Super Computer for the lifting Falcon Flyer, she activated a special item and Falco took the swordsmen to Mainframe.
Mewtwo held off Daemon as much as possible until the Zoom Room returned Samus and a comatose Bob. She declared the Smashers had beaten her in her own game, and they shall challenge her and The Word directly, but only in an area of their choosing, in Final Destination! Daemon accepted the challenge, and the Zoom Room took them to the Smash System's grandest arena! The duo arrived, as did Master Hand who didn't seem pleased. He curled into a fist...only to reveal a trophy stand as he gifted it to Samus; they'd strategized that with Daemon weak enough, she'd be immobolized and worthless with the infection stagnant! But the deity was ambushed by her infectious touch! Samus thrown the stand to the hand, transforming him to a trophy as he was the only clean Guardian left with a merged Key Tool!!
Mewtwo and Samus put up an intense fight, finally! As Samus was charging, Mewtwo took the fray against her, then she found a Poké Ball and popped out Bellossom...in which her weakening fragrances did nothing. Daemon eventually threw her away like a useless toy, but luckily was caught by the remaining Bird, Moltres, who unleashed her Sky Attack, then Articuno and Zapdos followed suit! Fearing she'd try to infect them, Mewtwo signaled them to fly away. The fight commenced with the duo, till Samus unleashed Mewtwo's Blastoise with his powerful water cannons. He eventually retreated after he mistakenly sprayed Moltres. Daemon tried to infect more ground by contaminating the smashboards, but Mewtwo flew and made Samus elevate before he released his Charizard with his wild fiery wrath! The onslaughts burnt her, but she was too quick for the Lizard's speed! Although she was distracted long enough for Samus to make a sneaky Screw Attack scarring the Hourglass! With Mewtwo's holler of triumph, Daemon began to strangle him! Surprisingly, she never infected him, just threw him asunder. The Falcon Flyer arrived and lent bullets which were ineffective onto the supervirus, but...Samus unleashed a charged Beam before Daemon's fingertip was about to infect the vessel, and that shattered the Hourglass! She crouched over, then Samus threw another trophy stand given by Game & Watch before the quartet left the Super Computer!! She was powerless, then Samus blasted her to pieces!!
Alas, it still released her viral infection and the Flyer hurriedly soared away!
Meanwhile, all the infected Binomes and Sprites were counting down, Bob mentioned to Dot weakly she turned into a cron virus erasing everything in the Net! Hex, as her chaotic self again, celebrated dancing with Bob. She was a bit delusional though she never felt more alive with the Core energy in her! Bob was still hopeless as Daemon activated the countdown that nothing'd survive. Hex demanded Phong to stop it, he stated there's a cure but they're unable to administer it in time. Welman chimed the only thing fast enough would be a virus; Hex volunteered, much to Bob's dismay she'd be defragmented while spreading throughout the Net... Hex asked Dot to take care of Bob, whom she always loved, and she gave Little Enzo a change over his icon, then shoved Matrix away and dropped his icon as a virus hater. With her control over Nulls intact, she took over Welman's body to enter the function and the Gateway, spreading herself out and cured everyone at 1 second! Unfortunately, it was barely enough for the Falcon Flyer to crash onto the Gateway. The Smashers headed out and celebrated their victory in the Net War, though Akari grew irate on everyone's treachery, wishing they'd be deleted and forever labelled as viruses. She even broke Mike as he interrupted her rant. Mewtwo calmed her, reminding her to present the Smashers. She took the podium and announced the true heroes, even Hex's sacrifice, and Enzo's valiance. Samus activated the movie file, and everyone watched it with stunned silence, even with short scenes on their battle against the Mainframers. By the time it was over, the denizens applauded for them, Akari went with the Smashers in Samus' Gunship accompanied by the Warp Star, 2 Arwings and Flyer to only the User knew where...
Nanos later, Ray arrived thru a portal along with Bob who was his former self before being launched into the Web. But the rest was history, as Akari, Samus, and the Smashers' fates remained unknown...

Trivia[]
- Ikran had been brainstorming on which Smasher should fight which infected crony; it wasn't until she saw the last 2 episodes that she made it official.
- Just like Akari, she was suffering from intense growing pains at the time as her stepmom had been cracking down on her hobbies and things that'd give her a lot of stimuli, mostly involving Showitious. She had to give up on Pokémon since 2001.
- The fic itself had a bittersweet ending symbolizing them as Akari never wanted to see the Mainframers again due to their treachery and giving up as a Pokémon Trainer. There was a plot synopsis highlighting the Conclusion based on the web comic, Paradigms Lost, where she reprises her role as a Trainer collecting Pokémon in the other regions and reuniting with her old comrades.
- She was always jealous that Link was chosen for Soul Calibur II instead of Marth and at the time, she was so sick on constantly losing in the Event Match, En Garde. While she had to surrender Pokémon, Zelda went with it despite her hate for Majora's Mask.
- Due to conflicting ideas, along with her long hiatus, Ikran eventually finished the series with four more chapters in 2017; it was the same year she completed other works such as Dissidia: Shadowgate, The Bouncer trilogy, and F-Zero.
- The way Ikran described Hex's driving was as bad as Dissidia Duodecim's plot was an expression how flunked up the game's story truly was; especially how Kain and the Puppet of Light were backstabbing traitors and how six warriors perished while sealing the Rift to staunch the Mainikins from multiplying. Since 2011, her opinions has NEVER changed...
- This death of Daecon can be similar to the death of Cetrion in Mortal Kombat 11, as Kronika dissipated her body while taking in her essence, while Daemon did the same after Daecon did the countdown!
- The title of the sixth chapter, What is Love Good for? Absolutely Nothing! was an outrageous expression to the title of Season 4's 3rd episode, as a pathetic nod to the biopic of the same name about Tina Turner being abused by Ike Turner, courtesy of Ikran getting curious on Laurence Fishburne... And also, a nod to the oldie, War!
- The Game that Enzo was in was never shown internally, so Ikran had to come up with something. In 2017 when she was finishing the story, she brainstormed ideas for the sextet to reboot into. Even though she wasn't a fan, she figured FFVII was the ideal choice for each combatant. Cloud was never included in Smash till 4 in 2014, so it wasn't a shabby decision. He was Enzo, Frisket was Red XIII, Fox was Barret, the bots were the ghosts of Aerith and Zack respectively, and Link Jr. was Tifa! It's most likely it was inspiration from Dissidia then Advent Children.
- The special movies, the original and one made by a fan with the unlocked Smashers, was featured during the finale. Although due to circumstances, the clips and order were different. It presented as followed:
- First Mario, then DK, and then Yoshi followed by the signature short.
- Second, it'll skip over the Trophy segment and go to the presentations of Link, Zelda/Sheik, and Capt. Falcon.
- But instead of Bowser having a moment, since he was excluded, Mr. Game & Watch would take his place.
- Then, it'll resume normally presenting Samus then Fox.
- Since it'll feature the unlockable characters, Young Link would be next with Saria's Song playing in the background, and then Falco.
- Then, it'll feature Mewtwo and then the Ice Climbers with the Poké Floats theme, along with the random Pokémon and items used in battle.
- Next, it'll play Kirby then Ness, shift to Marth and Roy with the Fire Emblem theme, and finally present a quick recap featuring all the new warriors.
- Akari's, and the Smashers', fate remained unknown until the plot synopsis Ikran made to conclude the ReBoot Multiuniverse.
