Episode 11 of Nightwing & Batgirl.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Amanda Waller and Col. Rick Flagg along with her bodyguards visiting Arkham Asylum. They asked the Asylum's guards to release selected villains, namely Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Poison Ivy, Killer Frost, Killer Croc, and King Shark. They were now accompanied by Waller and her company outside the asylum.
"Um, are we supposed to thank you guys?", Deadshot asked.
"Hey! What's the meaning of this act?", Harley asked them.
"Don't thank us just yet. Your sentences are still not done.", Amanda told them.
"What do you mean?", Captain Boomerang asked.
"We're just transferring you guys to another prison.", Waller answered.
"Man, that sucks.", Killer Croc said.
Now, the villains are told by Waller's guards to enter the truck. The villains did so. A few moments later, they reached Belle Reve Penitentiary. Now, Waller introduced them to their new prison.
"Welcome to Belle Reve Penitentiary, the highest security prison in United States, primarily dedicated to metahumans.", Amanda Waller told the villains.
"Metahumans? Do I look like a metahuman to you?", Harley Quinn exclaimed.
"And criminals with superhuman abilities.", Amanda calmly replied.
"No way we're staying here!", Killer Croc said.
"Come on, guys. You're overreacting. This place isn't so bad. The food is good and the cells here are wide enough. You're in good hands here.", Rick Flagg told them.
"Yeah, that's cool. But what about our sentences? Is there anything we can do to reduce it?", Harley asked them.
"Damn, right. There must be something we can do for you to shorten our sentence.", Captain Boomerang agreed.
"I'll think of it. For the meantime, My guards shall send you to your cells now.", Waller replied.
"I hate this place!", Killer Frost said, as they are now being brought to their cells.
The guards paused as Amanda Waller received a call from one of the prison's guards, saying the prisoner from cell 105 was now gone.
"What? How is that possible?", Amanda Waller exclaimed. "Never mind! Search for him, and get him back here quick!"
"Come on, Waller. We thought you could use some help.", Harley said.
"Harley's right. If you wanna get that prisoner back here, you certainly could use our help.", Poison Ivy agreed.
"King Shark is a shark", he said.
"Okay, fine. We shall monitor this prisoner's location and we'll send you the coordinates.", Amanda Waller now agreed.
"Sweet!", Harley exclaimed.
"Now, we're talking.", Deadshot said.
"Guards, stand down. I now got a special team for this particular operation.", Waller told the bodyguards.
"And what team is that?", a guard asked.
"Task Force X.", she answered. "Colonel Flagg, lead the way.", she told Flagg.
"Alright, Ma'am.", Flagg replied.
"Just one question, Ms. Waller. Who is this prisoner actually?", Captain Boomerang asked.
"Oh. It's Kirk Langstrom. Better known as Man-Bat.", Waller answered him.
"Oh, great.", Killer Croc said.
"This is gonna be fun.", Harley said, as she burst in laughter.
"Task Force X, hop in.", Flagg told the villains.
They all now hopped aboard the helicopter along with Col. Rick Flagg.
"You know, Colonel. Task Force X sounds cool, but you know what's cooler?", Harley asked him.
"What?", he asked her back.
"Suicide Squad!", Harley exclaimed.
"I like that.", Captain Boomerang agreed.
"King Shark is a shark.", King Shark said.
The villains high-fived each other, as they now headed away from Belle Reve. Meanwhile, Dr. Kirk Langstrom has been kidnapped by masked men and is inside a car.
Talia al Ghul talked to him on the phone and threatened him, "I hold your wife hostage. If you don't bring me the Man-Bat serum in time, you shall say goodbye to her precious life."
"Who the hell are you? How did you know about me? And my wife?", Kirk asked.
"That doesn't matter. Your only concern should be bringing to me the serum.", Talia answered.
"What do you want with it anyway?", he asked again.
"No more questions! If you want your precious wife to live, better do as I say.",
Kirk was now terrified and finally agreed, "Alright. I'll get you the serum right away!"
The scene moves to Batman, Nightwing, and Batgirl getting to Belle Reve. They went to investigate cell no. 105, where the prisoner Dr. Kirk Langstrom has escaped.
"How did he possibly escape from here? This cell is high security.", Nightwing said.
Batman took a look at a vent on top of one of the cell's walls. He looked at it using a flashlight and found fingerprints on it.
"There's fingerprints on it. Must've been his escape route.", Batman said.
"Whoa. That seems to be a smooth escape. How was he able to get away? Aren't there any security cameras or alarms in here?", Nightwing asked.
"They were disabled.", Batgirl told them as she noticed that the security cams and alarms were off.
"There's no way Kirk Langstrom would be able to escape this by himself. He must've been pulled out by someone else. Must be the work of a ninja.", Batman said.
Later, Amanda Waller comes in.
"Excuse me? Did I give you a warrant to investigate here, Batman and company?", she asked.
"Why would we need your warrant?", Batman asked.
"Come on, ma'am. It's our job too.", Batgirl added.
"First of all, it isn't. Second of all, I already sent my own team to search for the prisoner who just escaped.", Waller told them.
"You did?", Nightwing asked.
"Was that even legal?", Batman asked.
"They are being overseen by Task Force X, a government intelligence agency. Of course, it's legal. What about you guys, barging into this prison without my warrant?", Amanda Waller exclaimed. "Stay out of this, and do your job, while we do ours."
"We won't allow it. It's either we work with your team, or we take them down.", Batman replied, as he hit Waller with the Bat-glare.
"Fine. Go ahead. I'll send you the coordinates.", Waller finally agreed.
"You better do.", Batman replied.
Now, the three heroes left Belle Reve. Meanwhile, Kirk Langstrom and the henchmen now got to a League of Shadows mansion. Kirk now brought what Talia wanted. It is the Man-Bat serum.
"I got what you wanted. Now get my wife back.", Kirk told her.
"Well done, Doc.", Talia replied.
Later, Talia's father, Ra's al Ghul called.
"How's it going, my daughter? Did you get it.", Ra's asked.
"Yes, father. The serum is now in my hands. Everything's going according to planned.", Talia answered.
"Very well, my daughter. Proceed to the next step.", Ra's told her.
"Of course, father.", Talia agreed.
"Now, can you bring my wife back?", Kirk asked, losing his patience.
"Oh, right. Follow me.", Talia replied.
Dr. Kirk did so. He followed Talia and her men to a room where his wife was imprisoned. Talia opened it for her.
"Kirk!", his wife Francine yelled.
"Honey!", Kirk replied. "It's alright. I'm here now."
As Kirk got inside the room, he was pushed by Talia and they were both locked inside.
"No! You woman! Are you out of your mind? Let us go, bastard.", Kirk told her, but they already got away. Now, Kirk untied her from the chair.
"Kirk! You didn't give her the serum, did you?", she asked.
"Actually, I did.", Kirk replied.
"You idiot!", Francine told him, as she slapped him. "How could you do that? I can't believe you!"
"It's not like I had a choice. If I didn't, she'd have injected poison on you.", Kirk told her.
"And you were dumb enough to trust her? I can't believe how much of an idiot you are! Now, look at us, stuck in this room", Francine said.
"This wasn't part of the deal.", he replied.
They were surprised that someone broke the door. It was Talia and her men, who were now transformed into Man-Bats.
"Who said I don't fulfill my part of the deal?", Talia told them.
"See? She's not so bad after all.", Kirk told his wife.
"This woman. I still don't like her. Her looks and aura just screams pure evil.", his wife replied.
"I feel the same towards you.", Talia told them.
"This bitch! I'm gonna hit her!", Francine replied, but as she was about to go at Talia, two of the Man-Bats grabbed them by the arm.
Talia now also rode one of the Man-Bats and they flew outside the mansion.
"Hey! This isn't part of the deal!", Kirk exclaimed.
"I must've forgotten to tell you.", Talia replied.
"What?", Francine asked.
"We're taking over Gibraltar. Me, my father, and the League of Shadows.", Talia answered. "I want you to feel the consequences of your actions, and it's all your fault, Dr. Kirk.", she told him.
"As much as I hate this woman, I have to agree with her.", Francine told Kirk, angrily.
Meanwhile, the Suicide Squad are still on the chopper.
"Are we there yet?", Poison Ivy asked.
"Unfortunately, no. We got a major shift in course right now.", Rick Flagg, the pilot, told them.
"Where are we heading now, then?", Deadshot asked.
"To Gibraltar.", Flagg answered.
"Gibraltar? Shite, it will take us ages to get there, mate. Count me out.", Captain Boomerang said.
"Don't you want a shorter sentence?", Flagg asked him.
"How long does it take us to get there exactly?", Killer Frost asked.
"It'll only take us 8 hrs.", Flagg replied.
"8 freakin' hours? Are you crazy?", Harley said.
"Hey, it's from the other side of the globe. What do you expect?", Flagg replied.
"Then you better drive this thing quick before I throw up.", Harley told him.
"Then you better stop giving me orders, mate.", Flagg replied.
Now, Harley and the Squad stayed quiet. Flagg now drove the chopper faster, as Harley wished. Batman, Nightwing, and Batgirl are now also at the Batplane, headed for the same coordinates. Meanwhile, Talia, along with Kirk, Francine, and the Man-Bats already reached their base at Gibraltar. She once again placed the two in a cell. After, she told one of her henchmen at their base to start replicating the Man-Bat formula.
"What are you doing out there?", Dr. Kirk asked.
"Oh, nothing. We're just replicating the Man-Bat formula.", Talia answered.
"What? No! What you're doing is illegal! The formula is patented to me. I can sue you for that!", Kirk told her.
"Actually, you can't. I have diplomatic immunity due to my connections with the League of Shadows.", Talia replied.
"Why are you doing this?", Francine asked her.
"The reason's simple, actually. We wanna turn Gibraltar to our colony. That will increase our power and influence.", she replied.
"You're a real psycho.", Kirk told her.
The scene moves back to the Suicide Squad still at the chopper.
"Are we there yet? Cause I'm about to..." Harley asked, as she opened the choppers window and throws up.
Her vomit falls on a Man-Bat.
"Squad, I think we're here now.", Flagg told them, as he pointed at several Man-Bats in the sky.
"My goodness! Those are Man-Bats!", Harley exclaimed, as she panicked.
Rick Flagg pressed a button and placed the chopper into stealth mode.
"Relax, Harley. We're in stealth mode. They won't be able to see us.", Flagg replied.
"You know Bats have enhanced senses, right?", Poison Ivy asked.
"Trust me, they won't be able to detect us.", Flagg replied, "As long as you shut your mouths", he said, looking at Harley.
The Batplane was following closely.
"I wonder what team Amanda Waller sent to recover Dr. Langstrom?",
"Whoever they are, I don't feel particularly good about them.", Batman said.
"Wait, is that Gibraltar already?", Batgirl pointed, as they saw the island infested with Man-Bats.
"No way! Man-Bats spread all over the place.", Nightwing said.
"Dr. Kirk must be abducted and blackmailed into giving up the formula, and it fell into the wrong hands.", Batman said.
"Oh, great. Now things just got more complicated.", Batgirl replied.
Now, Batman placed the Batplane into stealth mode as well, while the Suicide Squad now reached the League of Shadows base. Flagg now opened the door at the bottom of the chopper and the Suicide Squad jumped down, using parachutes to glide down. They now entered their hideout from the rooftop then down, while Flagg now landed down his chopper. Later, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Batman also made their way to the base from the rooftop. The three heroes and the Suicide Squad are now both inside. However, the inside is dark. Nightwing attacked someone, but he was surprised it was Killer Croc. Nightwing, Batgirl, and Batman had a little battle with some of the villains.
"Why are you guys here?", Batman asked.
"Relax, Batsy. We're sent here by Amanda Waller to recover the escaped prisoner.", Deadshot said.
"What about you guys?", Killer Frost asked.
"What? You guys too?", Batgirl asked.
"Why? You too? You're after him as well?", Harley asked.
"Yes, we are.", Nightwing answered.
"But why you guys?", Batgirl asked.
"Come on, heroes. You would want them to actually serve a purpose instead of rotting in jail.", Flagg said, as he also showed up.
"Damn right.", Captain Boomerang agreed.
"They must have other reasons.", Batman said.
"You're absolutely right. There is. They agreed to this mission in exchange for a shorter sentence.", Flagg replied.
"I knew it", Batman said.
"But then again, at least they're being useful. Besides, this operation is 100% legal and overseen by us, the Task Force X, a government intelligence agency.", Flagg replied.
"Fair enough.", Batman finally agreed.
"Then we better start working. Because it won't be long before,", Harley said.
"They start to appear.", Killer Croc continued, as they were surrounded by Man-Bats.
"We only got one rule.", Batgirl said.
"No killing.", Nightwing agreed.
"Are you guys crazy? They are basically mindless monsters now! What are you gonna do? Heal them?", Deadshot asked them.
"Maybe. Maybe not.", Batman replied.
"Do you have a Man-Bat antidote for them?", Captain Boomerang asked.
"No. I don't.", Batman answered.
Harley laughed. "For the first time, Batsy. You were not prepared."
"Got no choice but to shoot them down.", Deadshot said.
"Mmm. I like bats for breakfast.", King Shark said.
"I don't like where that's going, King Shark.", Nightwing said.
"You know these guys? They don't need to kill. They beat their enemies badly they'd wish they were dead anyway.", Killer Frost said.
Killer Frost froze the Man-Bats, Poison Ivy tangled them in vines, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Batman hit them with Batarangs and other weapons, Deadshot used his wrist mounted gun, Killer Croc and King Shark were ripping their bodies off, Captain Boomerang of course hits them with boomerangs while Harley and Rick Flagg shoots them down with her handgun.
"Others go find Dr. Langstrom already. Suicide Squad, focus on your goal.", Rick Flagg told them.
"Let's go boys and gals.", Harley told them.
"Alright.", Captain Boomerang said.
Nightwing, Batgirl, Batman, Killer Croc, King Shark, and Rick Flagg are left to hold off the Man-Bats while Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Poison Ivy, Killer Frost, and Harley went to search where Dr. Langstrom was imprisoned. However, they encountered more Man-Bats. After taking down few of those again, they finally found a room. They heard people screaming help. They got there and Harley Quinn pounded down the door hard with her mallet.
"There you are, mate.", Captain Boomerang said.
"Thank you.", Kirk and Francine thanked them.
"Don't thank us yet. It's time we bring you back to prison, Dr. Kirk.", Harley said.
"You better do. He deserves it.", Francine agreed.
"Come on now. If I hadn't given her the serum, you would've been dead by now.", Kirk said.
"Who's her?", Harley asked.
"Talia al Ghul.", Kirk told them.
"The demon's daughter?", Harley gasped.
"No way.", Ivy said.
The other heroes encountered ninja assassins this time. The assassins were good and were able to make them bleed. But later, King Shark and Killer Croc were able to rip their bodies off.
"Wait. These ninjas look familiar.", Batgirl noticed.
Later, Batman finds two scientists and then asked them, "Tell me who's your boss!".
"Talia al Ghul!", one answered.
"And where is she now?", Batman angrily asked again.
"She's at the house of the Prime Minister now. Threatening to kill his wife if he doesn't give her control over Gibraltar.", the other answered.
"No way! That bitch, I'm gonna go after her!", Batman said.
"What about us?", the scientists asked.
Nightwing and Batgirl tied them up.
"Wait, Batsy. What about us?", Nightwing asked.
"You look after these villains.", Batman told them.
Now, Batman headed for the house of Prime Minister.
"Batman's really something, huh.", Rick Flagg said.
They now met with the other villains at where Kirk and Francine Langstrom were found.
"What's the plan now?", Killer Frost asked.
"We take down all the Man-Bats around this island.", Flagg said.
"Are you crazy? That'll take long.", Killer Croc said.
"Hey, genius. Think you can make an antidote to this disaster you made?", Harley asked Dr. Langstrom.
"I could. Unfortunately, there's not much time. You gotta get going now.", Kirk told them.
"Still, you try.", Nightwing said.
"I will.", Kirk replied.
"I'll go assist you.", Rick Flagg offered.
Now, he, Kirk and Francine went to a lab and started working on developing an antidote.
"Let's go, boys and gals!", Harley said, as they, Nightwing, and Batgirl went outside the Shadows base.
Killer Frost, using her powers, helped her teammates get in the air and take down the Man-Bats. Nightwing and Batgirl used the Batplane and struck down the Man-Bats with rockets.
The scene now moves to the house of the Prime Minister, where Batman and Talia al Ghul faced off. Talia threatened the Prime Minister by pointing a gun on her wife's head. But a Batarang hit her hand and the gun was knocked off. It was Batman. Batman came swinging and kicked her from behind. Now, Batman and Talia fought. They were evenly matched but later, Talia was able to hand him quite a beating.
"Tell me, Talia. Why are you doing this?", Batman asked her.
"Because this is what I am. This is what the League of Shadows do. Conquer nations.", Talia replied.
Batman tied Talia's hands behind her back.
"Do you love what you are doing? Or are you only doing this because of your father's orders.", he asked.
"I already told you. This is what I do.", Talia replied, as she broke free from Batman's arms.
"Are you really this heartless? Using all means just to get what you wanted?", he asked.
"You ask too much questions.", she answered, as she took him down.
"Look at them. They're already old. Are you willing to take their life just for control of a small nation?", he asked, pointing at the Prime Minister and his wife.
"I just hope you realize, you don't have to live up to your father's name just because you're the daughter of the demon.", Batman told her.
"No, it's too late for that.", Talia said.
"It doesn't have to be this way, Talia. There's still hope. If only you'd just look at it closely.", Batman told her.
"Ugh. I hate it when my enemies use such arguments.", Talia replied. "Fine, I'll let you pass this time.", she said, as she pulled out a stick with a button on it.
"Wait, what did you...", Batman asked.
"I activated a landmine underneath this building. Go on now. Time is running out.", Talia said, as she waved goodbye and ran outside.
Batman called. "Nightwing, Batgirl. I need backup. The Prime Minister's house is crumbling.", but Nightwing and Batgirl were already there, riding on a Batplane.
"We thought you'd never ask.", Batgirl replied, as they told the Prime Minister and his wife to hop in.
They did so, and thanked the three heroes. They asked them to bring them to their other house.
"Batman. Did you just let that psychopath escape?", the Prime Minister's wife asked.
"I had to choose between going after her and saving you. I hope you understood that.", Batman replied.
"Oh, yes we do.", the Prime Minister replied.
"Don't worry. We'll get her next time and make her pay.", Nightwing told them.
The two thanked them again.
The scene moves to the Suicide Squad piling up the unconscious Man-Bats. Dr. Kirk just finished creating multiple antidotes for the Man-Bat serum.
"Are you done creating the serum, Dr. Langstrom?", Batman asked.
"Yes, it's done and tested.", Kirk said.
"Then you better start injecting them now.", Rick Flagg told him.
"You got to be kidding! That's like more than 50 of them!", Kirk exclaimed.
"Then you better start now!", his wife told him. Kirk now did so.
Later, after Kirk was finished, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Batman now thanked the Suicide Squad and parted ways with them. The Suicide Squad now also rode their chopper along with Mr. and Mrs. Langstrom. They headed back to Belle Reve.
"Colonel Flagg, how did the mission go?", Amanda Waller's first question as the squad got back.
"Ask him.", Flagg responded, as they showed Mr. and Mrs. Langstrom to them.
"Turns out he's not the only one who's abducted.", Harley said.
"That's surprising.", Waller replied. "Anyways, this is impressive. All your sentences shall be reduced to 1 week."
"Can you believe that?", Harley said, in delight. "I can't wait to share a cell with Ivy!"
"Sorry to say this, but Belle Reve has only one criminal per cell capacity.", Flagg told her.
"Are you crazy? Each cells are too huge for one person! Wait a minute, don't tell me you're a homophobe", Harley responded.
"No, I'm not.", Flagg replied.
"Come on, we just accomplished a mission for you guys. Let us have our fun.", Poison Ivy asked.
"Fine. Go ahead and share one cell. Just don't do anything steamy.", Flagg now allowed them.
"Thank you, Colonel!", Harley delightedly replied, as she and Ivy held hands and immediately entered a prison cell.
"1 week sentence? Hell yeah!", Killer Croc said.
"That's also a good amount of time for King Shark to get quarantined.", Flagg said.
"What about King Shark?", Waller asked.
"Um, during the mission. He ate bats.", Flagg said.
"Goodness. That's horrible. We shall extend his sentence.", Waller said.
"King Shark is a shark.", King Shark said.
At the Batcave, Batman, Nightwing, and Batgirl talked about the previous mission.
"Batsy. How did your fight with Talia go?", Batgirl asked.
"How did you get her to retreat?", Nightwing also asked.
"We had a battle, and I tried to talk things out with her. Fortunately, it worked.", Batman answered.
"Oh, so what did you tell her? Did you threaten her or something?", Batgirl asked.
"You don't always have to resort to threats. Sometimes, sweet words are all it takes.", Batman replied
"Did you really do that?", Nightwing asked. "If that's true, then that might be the coolest thing you've ever done."
"Yes, I really did.", Batman responded.
"Wait a minute. Don't tell me you've fallen for her. That is totally a red flag.", Batgirl told him.
"Don't worry, I won't.", Batman replied.
The scene moves to Talia now back at the League of Shadows main base of operations.
"I'm sorry father. They got away.", Talia apologized to her father.
"It's alright, daughter. We managed to make our presence felt at Gibraltar. We could consider that a victory.", Ra's replied. "However, I just wonder, you looked uneasy today, daughter. Is there a a problem?"
"It's nothing, really. I'm just, feeling unwell. I just need a little rest.", Talia answered.
"Oh, I see. Now, rest well, my daughter. Tomorrow's another day.", Ra's told her.
Now, Talia went to her room.
"Yes, father. Tomorrow's the day, I start a new life.", Talia told herself.
