Dark Star is the secret location of Dark Million, Black Shadow's organization. It was featured during the Japanese dubs very late in the F-Zero GP Legend anime, Falcon Densetsu. Such members that hang out there are Black Shadow, Zoda, clones of Blood Falcon, Octoman, Bio Rex, Baba, Haruka Misaki, Death Soldier, The Skull and occasionally Pico. There was also Don Genie and Deathborn; however, they were disguises, or shadows, made by Black Shadow. It can be a powerful ship next to the Falcon Flyer and the Galaxy Runner. Often times, Zoda's starship would be seen, till much later in the anime where you'd often see the Emperor of Brutality. Some people might mistake it as a planet of sorts, and it is the same place where the Dark Reactor was made (Black Sun in the fandub).
At the heart of the lair is the Dark Reactor Core which utilizes the power of the three Dark Reactor Mights, as well as the Light counterparts Black Shadow's been looking for. Combined, it can incinerate the universe and help him rebuild it in total darkness. The mechanism spins rapidly and the track widens in an attempt to make Captain Falcon and Rick Wheeler fall into it. Fortunately, as Zoda gave him some encouragement, he used a Full Power Boost Fire which utterly destroyed the Reactor and the fortress from within! Black Shadow and Capt. Falcon were demolished on impact.
Ikran's F-Zero timeline[]
Same thing applies here, excepting for the Core. Yes, Black Shadow or in the case, Deathborn, desired for all 6 Mights, but there were some alters. After the split victory at the Lightning Championship, Falcon noticed the shadow from Black Shadow, or rather Deathborn who was still in control of Jody and Dr. Stewart from the Mobile Task Force; which the latter was developing an irreversible solution from his experimental formula from Light Reactor Mights, to which it turned corrupt. Desperate to search for the remaining Light Mights, he captured Tinsel who was distraught of her rage with Jody and quitting the team. With Jody reunited with Burt, Rick went with Falcon to Dark Star!
The Duelists, Yami and Joey, infiltrated the base, complete with bullets, plasma forcefields, and having the lair be shrouded in thick clouds of energy. Thanks to the Swords of Revealing Light, and the heroes' advances, they made it thru, though Deathborn already decimated a planet, Uma-51, with orbiting sensors. Yami encouraged the crew aboard the Falcon Flyer to rescue Tinsel and save the universe, but the Galaxy Runner was unable to. Rick, Gomar & Shioh, Draq, Leon, and Beastman were drugged by the Skull's umbrakinesis, though they'd survived their worst nightmares. Yami used one of his ancient black arts and shattered Sterling's bones! Then, Black Shadow ambushed the group! Rick came across an imprisoned jellyfish alien and freed it, then he was at a three-way crossroads; with deep thinking and remembering the elitists' advice, he figured the middle wasn't an illusion, and he found Tinsel in a scrimmage with Miss Killer! He saved the former, as he recalled Haruka's advice, then the Galaxy Runner caught her corpse, and Rick then went to the secret laboratory!
Octoman was able to activate access to it, then he, Tinsel, and Rodney found a comatose Stewart! The tanks were filled with inactive Blood Falcon copies, and the garage had the Golden Fox, Death Anchor and a cluster of Hell Hawks. Stewart suggested to use the Anchor for its original purpose, a missile made by the Galactic Federation! With it, Rick destroyed the lab and allowed the Galaxy Runner access. After a passionate kiss, Rick gave Tinsel his memos and went straight to the Core. He followed Deathborn's evil presence, and he and Falcon were at a standoff, even when Blood Falcon got involved! Joey summoned his Red-Eyes then merged with Yugi's Summoned Skull, into the Black Skull Dragon, destroying the remaining clone! Yugi then merged the 3 Blue-Eyes into the Ultimate Dragon, then sacrificed it for the Shining Dragon! With the power of Yin and Yang, they disabled the Core, then Rick utterly destroyed it with the Full Power Booster Fire! Rendering Falcon's sacrifice and Deathborn's demise! The evil lair was never seen again since!
