Edge, real name Edward Geraldine, is a player character in Final Fantasy IV and its sequel, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. Various sources offer conflicting information on Edge's name. The gallery in Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection lists Edge's artwork as "Edge (Edward) Geraldine", while other sources, including collector cards included with the game, give his name as Edward Geraldine with Edge as an alias or nickname.
He is the prince of Eblan and a skilled ninja. He is brash and has an inflated ego, and frequently flirts with women. He is kind with a strong sense of right and wrong and defends his kingdom no matter the price.
Conquest of the Blue Planet[]
Edge, the Seneschal, and the remaining four benevolent ninjas were under attack by the Injukhal and their lethal condors. They were almost at their mercy till Kain and Yang showed up! With the help of their fellow Monks and Dragoons, they mopped the floor, but the brainwashed Ninjas and their masters vanished via Smokescreen! Edge was pissed off that Eblan fell to the savages which he thought were extinct! Kain informed him that Cecil has gone to Tenebre to stop them, and they'd stolen the World's Crystals. Edge couldn't stand his foolishness and so he enlisted the help of Gekkou, Izayoi, Zangetsu, and their novice Wind ninja, Kaze! Edge was reluctant to involve him, but he was determined to save his people, and his wife who was with child.
So, Edge and his gang boarded the airship and were part of the Fleet of Hope. He was also surprised to see Rydia again after several months, still bashful to express his feelings... They soon crashed at Tenebre thanks to Domin's umbra shockwaves from the Injukhal drums! He recovered and assisted Cecil to fight the brainwashed Ninjas and fry more condors. Until he noticed Kaze mortally wounded. In his dying breath, Edge wanted to keep his dream alive on becoming a father. And since the Injukhal were more peaceful without Domin's thrall, he never planned for revenge. Eventually, Ceodore was born, as was the new Wind ninja, Tsukinowa!
