The Eternal Palace is a mysterious location in the Mortal Kombat series in which only the pantheon dwells within the heavens. It's been mentioned in Mortal Kombat Annihilation when Shao Kahn and Shinnok were hatching plans and it's likely the Elder Gods' arena from Mortal Kombat 4 was within it. The place is sacred that only members of the pantheon are allowed to consult with the creators of the universe, and it's rare for mortals to tread, such as Liu Kang being transported by Raiden during Mortal Kombat 9.

Ikran's MK Khronology[]
It was first seen in Shinnok's Uprising when one of the Elder Gods discussed with Fujin that he'd be the new protector of Earth and Raiden appeared confirming he's now an Elder God. There was also a glimpse of it during Caro's flashback in Kontentment that Argus escorted Fire God Liu Kang to the outer chamber of the Elder Gods granting him full godhood and no longer having the weakness from lack of worship while also requesting Kitana to be a goddess without dying as a reward for defending Edenia from Kahn during the first tournament; alas, Liu Kang erased those deeds after Great Kung Lao succumbed and died to his injuries after winning over Goro.
The Tribal Ceremony and Unaliving War[]

Unaliving Liu Kang shall lead the fourth ceremony atop of the Eternal Palace, gathering old and new recruits for the upcoming war against Darkseid. After the Elder Gods War, he and Aiko soon became their more active replacements, though Liu quickly turned it down to only be the protector of Earthrealm; he requested only her to lead the new order with Kung Lao by her side. Although she still felt empty as she figured Elder Gods be isolated and no longer be directly involved with the realms... But Liu visited her during her loneliness, and he assured with the new order, they can set their own rules and have more freedom. He actually heard from Nightwolf on the annual Tribal Ceremonies during November, the International Month of the Drums, gathering new recruits and expanding their tribe. So, he took this opportunity then chose all his Elder God champions, even decided on that exact location, to war against his nemesis, Darkseid.
