The Fantastic Four is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The team debuted in The Fantastic Four #1 (cover dated Nov. 1961), helping usher in a new level of realism in the medium. It was the first superhero team created by artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby and editor/co-plotter Stan Lee, who developed a collaborative approach to creating comics with this title.

The four characters traditionally associated with the Fantastic Four, who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space, are: Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards), a scientific genius and the leader of the group, who can stretch his body into incredible lengths and shapes; the Invisible Woman (Susan "Sue" Storm), who eventually married Reed, who can render herself invisible and project powerful invisible force fields and blasts; the Human Torch (Johnny Storm), Sue's younger brother, who can generate flames, surround himself with them and fly; and the monstrous Thing (Ben Grimm), their grumpy but benevolent friend, a former college football star, Reed's college roommate and a good pilot, who possesses tremendous superhuman strength, durability and endurance due to his stone-like flesh.

Since the 1961 introduction, the Fantastic Four has been portrayed as a somewhat dysfunctional, yet loving, family. Breaking convention with other comic archetypes, the members squabbled, held grudges both deep and petty, and eschewed anonymity or secret identities in favor of celebrity status. They are also well known for their recurring encounters with characters such as the villainous monarch Doctor Doom; the planet-devouring Galactus; the Kree Empire's ruthless and tyrannical enforcer Ronan the Accuser; the Negative Zone's ruler Annihilus; the sea-dwelling prince Namor; the spacefaring Silver Surfer; and the Skrull warrior Kl'rt.

The Fantastic Four have been adapted into other media, including four animated series and four live-action films.

Fantastic 4 OC series[]

Ikran has created a series of fanfics way back in 2009, and, aside from her OC, Terri Thatcher, they were the main focus. They pretty much went thru the same misadventures as they did in the 2005 film and Rise of the Silver Surfer; from going on a space mission with Victor von Doom, to attaining their powers from a cosmic storm, and the quartet saving some doomed civilians and firefighters from chaos on the Brooklyn Bridge, until finally molding with their team's name as exaggerated by Johnny.

Terri, however, took a longer time to recuperate and suffered from amnesia of the incident, though the quintet stayed within the Baxter Building if Reed should develop a cure. Terri was training herself with her new telepathy/telekinesis, till the team were nearly broken, though reunited to freeze Victor! A cruise was made in their honor, and Terri would become an unofficial member while still training her powers.

Later on, the quartet separated from flareups between them thanks to the side effects of the cranberry juice tainted by a mysterious crimelord. Reed and Terri were unsuccessful, till he sacrificed his mind to prevent Sue being brainwashed by an unknown sorceress. Reed, at first, was led astray to the Mutant Island, till the real Sue managed to patch things up, as an imposter named Mira disguised herself as Sue to keep the couple at bay and force Reed as hers.

Two years later, it was time for the wedding of the century for Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic; unfortunately, things were compromised by the "anomalies" which were soon caused by the Silver Surfer, who at first disabled Johnny's flight and pyrokinesis. At times, his abilities went haywire while Sue made contact, as did Ben. The team since made a pact to never make contact with Johnny. They also saved civilians from the collapsing Millennium Wheel but failed to catch the Surfer as he dried the river Thames. Gen. Haeger then enlisted Victor, the archnemesis, and the guys developed an ionic pulse separating the enemy from the board! Sue was about to reason with him, until he became powerless while chasing a missile.

The quartet were captured and taken to Russia, though John Myers sneakily took Terri away and dressed her up to rescue them. Sue interrogated the Surfer, working for Galactus, and Terri knocked out the guards and made the dogs fall asleep with her new hypnosis. Victor retained the board for himself, and the quintet were halted by Frankie. Johnny and Myers convinced her, and Reed summoned the FantastiCar! They headed to Shanghai and they crashlanded! Sue sacrificed herself to save the hapless Surfer, since she reminded him of someone he knew.

Johnny merged their powers onto one entity, and he easily got rid of Victor with assistance by a finishing blow by a crane operated by Ben. Sue lost her life; Norrin revived her and blew up Galactus from within using the Power Cosmic! A 2nd wedding was planned, and the team decided to stay together, even have a family since normalcy was underrated. They received a distress signal from Venice and headed there, with Myers tagging along for the ride!

A couple years passed and Terri kept sensing unusual activity... She borrowed Reed's telescope and felt a familiar feeling; thinking it'd be the Surfer again, she sent out her AstroWing. Its central computer, Lucille, detected it and after it crashlanded, the Surfer was able to save her! The quartet reunited and received tragic news that Norrin was trapped in the solar system. Reed and Terri agreed to bring his loved one, Shalla-Bal, back to him. Reed was chosen as her copilot since he won the test simulator, and they even agreed to colonize Mars with the Zenn-Lavians. Norrin escorted them thru the galaxy, till he was unable to progress further...

They eventually made it to the Deneb Galaxy, and soon to Zenn-La. Jartran and Elmar were disheartened since Shalla was abducted by Mephisto. They were unfortunate they didn't know her whereabouts, though each denizen had a different vision leading to separate planets. Fennan and his second-in-command, Trake, took on the mission. The FantastiCar docked in the mothership, though Myers, Alicia and Frankie stayed.

The journey was on, and each member took turns on each location: Ben assisted Terri and Norrin in Reptilyx and killed Reptyl, Johnny helped the couple against Firelord, Susan was saved by possession from Kamo Tharnn, the quintet infiltrated the Skrulls' fortress and still no luck on Shalla. This all came to a head when they decided reluctantly to land in Mephisto's lethal world! They fell during the scrimmage, even after merging powers with their fearless leader, and the AstroWing crashlanded! Norrin volunteered to give up his life in exchange for Shalla's soul, though Fennan took the blow! The team narrowly escaped and managed to retrieve Shalla's...astral form! They headed to the Magik Domain, where it was the Deneb galaxy's graveyard, and Colossus kept Shalla's hapless body imprisoned. His last resort was to churn himself into a black hole, and thanks to Norrin's Power Cosmic, they escaped! The body and soul merged and Shalla reunited with Norrin!

At the start of the mission, Reed suggested to head thru the Aurora Borealis at the Arctic Circle, thus bending the limits of Norrin's exile, and by the time it was over, Norrin was able to head home with the other Zenn-Lavians, and wondered if their allies would soon return...
