This is a multi-chapter story that was based off of F-Zero GX's Story Mode. Instead of just Captain Falcon, it also involves Ikran's OC, Tinsel Steelus, as well as some elements from the original Yu-Gi-Oh series. Through fascination, she, Yugi, and Joey go on their own odyssey as Falcon fulfills his duties as a bounty hunter and Grand Prix champion. Combined with their racing skills and their abilities in Dueling, the trio assist the elusive pilot to save the universe from omnipotent threats created by villains beyond their wildest imagination.

There's a fanfic/podfic marathon available with better sound/video quality.

Falcon's Followers (Lap 1)

Previously, Tinsel relived her traumatic past since her accident at the last Queen League course, as she failed to cross the 50-foot gap at the second White Land circuit. Since then, she quit F-Zero racing and has been on hiatus for over 12 years. In the present time, she has finally decided to give her long-dormant Silver Comet a test run, and she found herself on a distant island that was hosting the Battle City tournament and is soon on the verge of exploding! She came across a group of escaping Duelists and escorted them to safety. She introduced herself to them and then decided to take on a new hobby, Duel Monsters. Since then, Yugi and Joey became close friends as they taught her how to do it!

Because of that, she began to ease up and she offered to bring the two heroes along on her personal adventure revisiting the places she encountered in the original F-Zero. They said yes, and their first stop was of course Port Town. They actually crossed paths with a punk who challenged Yugi and Joey to a duel, which was a special treat considering its rare on another planet. As they got into it, Tinsel witnessed an old, tall warehouse take shape into a racetrack and the Blue Falcon whizzing on it! As the fight ended, with the 2 heroes winning, Tinsel was unable to convince them what she saw; even Joey thought she was losing it.

Lap 2[]

Falcon's Followers (Lap 2)

As they were hanging out in a hotel at Port Town, Tinsel was describing about what she saw last nite. Suddenly, they saw the same cerulean machine speed away, and the Duelists were surprised. And so, they eventually decided to follow the mysterious pilot. And that was when they wound up in enemy territory, specifically Red Canyon, the home turf of Samurai Goroh and his band of lethal space pirates! Tinsel herself hadn't seen the place since the Queen League, and she knew Goroh was a brutal rival and enemy, especially to Capt. Falcon!

They eavesdropped on Goroh's rant to him, on stealing the prize money from him last race, somewhere near the X competition. Goroh challenges Falcon to a race; if he loses, he'll have to surrender his machine, according to the law of the land. The samurai mocked he'd never back down from a challenge, and of course he accepted. They were involved in a fatal death race complete with no guardrails, no Dash Plates, no healing pads and the deadly avalanches from the mountainside! Falcon won just by a hair, and the trio cheered! They were able to hightail it outta there as Goroh's machine exploded!

Lap 3[]

Falcon's Followers (Lap 3)

The guys escaped thru a Warp Gate back to Mute City, Earth, and Falcon went to a nearby bar for a quick refreshment. Meanwhile, the Duelists tagged along, and Tinsel was startled at the sight of the neon sign reading Bet Race...! She despised casinos and games based on luck, contrary to Joey. Even Yugi said he'd prefer strategy than the luck of the draw, much to his best friend's dismay. Tinsel offered them to go for a bite at a diner joint beside it. From there, they watched the Bet Race of 12 million space credits.

Meanwhile, Falcon was interrupted by an old desperado, Silver Neelsen, begging him to win the Bet Race to solve his debt! He dragged him away and made a pisspoor disguise and registered him as Famicom! It was an embarrassing sight and a lousy effort since the machine never had a makeover, as stated by Joey. The race started and it was quite a hassle! There were so many 90-degree turns, the Casino Palace had creepy clowns wishing the racers good luck, there were distracting machines/lights everywhere, and the ruthless pilots kept on rocketing passed the Blue Falcon! Even some of the spectators in the diner became skeptical on who the disguised man was and whether or not he'd win. So much for grand theft auto, Joey muttered.

By barely winning, Falcon emerged victorious! Much to the shock of the trio! Neelsen awarded him with the heavy sack of money, but Falcon was interrupted by a newsbreak saying that citizens must evacuate the Lightning area immediately as the Televid shown Black Shadow wreaking havoc!! He dropped the dollars and sped toward his next destination with the trio close behind; although it was difficult to get Joey's attention since he was still eating snacks wholeheartedly.

Lap 4[]

The Comet spotted the Falcon go thru the highway in Big Blue, which was a sort of bad idea since the water vapor may make the vehicles susceptible to lightning strikes. There was a gang that ambushed the latter, and Tinsel analyzed them as the Bloody Chain, while their leader, Michal Chain, ordered his cronies to hammer Falcon! During the melee, the Comet sped away, with the criminals barely noticing it. Near the gateway to Lightning, Yugi unloaded a couple of his Cards. It was the same tactic Yami used in the Virtual World as a way to infiltrate the Castle of Dark Illusions and rescue Kaiba; Kuriboh was loaded into the Catapult Turtle's turret and was launched toward the group while it Multiplied! Each Kuriboh ignited and blew up their machines, as the henchmen turned away from falling meteors!

With the Bloody Chain decimated, it was smooth sailing for Falcon, and the trio immediately headed into their next shocking destination.

Lap 5[]

Falcon's Followers (Lap 5)

They finally arrived at Lightning, a different world from Earth, and they surveyed the damage Black Shadow left. The Federation was no match for the emperor of brutality, and the Duelists never saw that much devastation; having that in an endless thunderstorm was like a freaking nightmare!! Falcon spotted the Wonder Wasp with a wounded pilot, begging for someone to save Jody trapped in a power plant! He headed toward it and found a disoriented Jody. He escorted her inside the cockpit leaving her White Cat behind, and a wall of flames were chasing them!

Meanwhile, Yugi transformed into Yami, and he strategized to use his fastest Egyptian God Card, Slifer the Sky Dragon! He went thru the corridors avoiding the doors that were left semi-closed in multiple directions. Yami assisted Falcon blowing any of the poles in their path! And they were barely able to escape, even Falcon and Jody as they hit a ramp! Tanaka, Joey, and Tinsel watched the horror as the plant exploded in a towering inferno!! Luckily, they were alive and well, with the pharaoh having his coat full of soot. They then saw the same black demon reveling in his own destruction as they watched Falcon confront him.

Joey riding his Red-Eyes as they chase the Blue Falcon in Lightning in an attempt to dismantle the speed-sensitive bomb

The trio questioned where the demon came from, perhaps it was another Duelist straight from the Shadow Realm. It turned out he was another F-Zero racer as he was grateful to see Falcon, not wasting his time looking for him. Falcon said they should settle this in the GX Grand Prix coming up. The enemy disregarded it, as he wanted to eliminate anyone who stands between him and the prize, just that simple. He tied up Falcon in some strong energy bands and summoned his clone, Blood Falcon, to activate a speed-sensitive bomb on top of the Falcon's fuselage!! He made the machine speed away, and the Comet went after it!! Everyone escaped in the cockpit, excepting Joey! He actually rode on his Red-Eyes Black Dragon in a risky attempt to dismantle the bomb while the hapless Falcon mingled thru traffic, never allowing the bomb to go off! Joey wanted to draw out his Dragon Claws Card, but the velocity and sudden turns always caused him to slip! He soon used up so much energy, that an alarm was sounded! Joey was frantic to rescue him if he should run out of power, or worse...

Luck was on their side as he slammed thru a deserted construction site and leveled the Falcon underneath the hook from a convenient crane! Red-Eyes was ordered to balance it, then it and Joey were all washed up! The Comet also made it across the gap, but there was no sign of Joey! Moments later, he emerged, soaked to the bone, and his Monster gone! They quickly headed back to Earth when they feared for their lives as the storm got worse!

Lap 7[]

Falcon's Followers (Lap 7)

The trio were wiped out and Tinsel ranted she doesn't want to follow Falcon anymore! She figured he was too busy saving his own hide and not noticing all the valiant deeds they'd done!

It turns out Falcon WAS aware of all the risks they took together, even escaping from the power plant and latching the speed-sensitive bomb! He was actually grateful for their assistance, and Yugi confessed they didn't mean to be his stalkers. He actually recognized Tinsel and her Silver Comet, from the last 12 years! He remembered each other as rivals since the first Grand Prix, although he may need her help on defeating Black Shadow and Blood Falcon. Unfortunately, she needed a crash course to upgrade her skills, since she missed out on the X competition and the Horrific Accident. They queried what it was, and he said it took place in the last challenge of the King League, Fire Field! She never heard of a place, but while it was rumored to be Pico that rendered Falcon hospitalized and some pilots dead, he believed it to be Black Shadow! As a result, the demon stole his DNA and created his own clone, then the Grand Prix was suspended for seven years! It wasn't until Super Arrow convinced the Congress to bring it back, then Falcon thwarted evil by becoming champion! Now, he's back with a vengeance!

Tinsel and the Duelists volunteered to help, though the 2 heroes would have to be put on standby. Baby Dragon and Curse of Dragon kept an eye out, while Falcon gave Tinsel a crash course! Mr. Zero announced the race and the battle was on! There were some lethal lava pits, the pilots were persistent, and the demon and clone had little to no difficulty defeating the pair! At the Final Lap, Tinsel made her move on the Hell Hawk, rendering it to lose control and pass the maniac! She also intervened Black Shadow causing her to boost and spin out!! This accident actually crippled the Bull while the Falcon managed to cross the finish line!!

The Duelists rushed to her aide, though she was just disoriented from the impact; the Comet needed some extensive repairs, though. Falcon retrieved the Champion's Belt, and Tinsel offered half of her prize money to 2 unfortunate pilots, Leon and Octoman; she researched each opponent before the race and felt sorry for the animals who had their homes/people torn by war and poverty. The Millennium Puzzle reacted and the voice of Yami warned Yugi an evil presence is near. Leon and Tinsel, as well as the heroes, witnessed a cybrog emerging from a dark portal electrocuting Black Shadow and killed him!! He introduced himself as Deathborn, the Grand Prix Champion of the Underworld, and he challenged Falcon to race him tomorrow and he must accept as an elitist! The trio were alarmed at the thought, and Falcon invited them to visit his Fortress.

The trio were astonished on what they saw, from the garage to his trove of trophies, to the station of the Falcon Flyer! They were still worried on Falcon's welfare for the challenge tomorrow with such an omnipotent opponent!

Lap 8[]

Falcon's Followers (Lap 8)

Before the heroes woke up, Falcon was already gone, Flyer and all! Worst of all, there was no way on leaving Port Town since they were stranded without the Comet. Heck, he even ordered them the night prior they must stay in case Blood Falcon shall plot revenge on losing and having his master killed. Still, Tinsel booted up the supercomputer and it has shown the Flyer's destination to a red planet. Both Tinsel and Joey decided to chase after him and make sure he's alright, but Yugi refused to go, until Yami convinced him otherwise; that they're both elitists in their own sport, and they should cooperate to save the galaxy alive.

Tinsel figured maybe they should take a galaxy cab, and a good Samaritan informed her she can still catch it in a nearby station. She payed the fare with her prize money and they headed to Earth. From memory, she found Dr. Clash's grungy garage, as he was repairing the Crazy Bear's underside, and muttering how he lost to Falcon again. Tinsel wanted to offer his help, but he shooed her away thinking she had an appointment; she just wanted her machine back, and it was good as new!

She and the Duelists took the Warp Gate to Fire Field, but she was unable to cross the endless pools of lava! The Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress airlifted her machine to the exact spot! A sealed cave leading underground!

Meanwhile, Falcon approached his enemy and two of their corresponding belts were lifted and circled above them very fast! Deathborn informed something to him before he should perish: Dark and Light are the forces that govern the universe, and with its power, they can be unbeatable; they're contained in each of their belts, one Dark, one Light. At the moment when they merge, it's possible to use that power, to which Deathborn would incinerate the universe instantly! He has waited so long to singe the world into total darkness! Falcon challenged to destroy before he should do so! And the race was on!

The Falcon competed against the menacing Dark Schneider; while it was powerful offensively/defensively, its grip was subpar. Its recklessness kept him in the competition, continually trying to ram Falcon into oblivion! Despite the fatal magma pits and mines, as well as his wrath and tight turns, Falcon STILL managed to get on top!! The Duelists were constructing their secret weapon that was said to even rival the Egyptian Gods, the Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon!! There were 3 Blue-Eyes, they merged into the Ultimate Dragon, then Yugi sacrificed it and preserved its essence from the Graveyard as it shaped into the magnum opus!

Before it was about to unleash its Shiny Nova, Deathborn fell off course and plunged into the magma! The belts merged and Falcon was the one who retrieved it!

"The evil forces shall never get their hands on this Belt! I'll keep winning!"

The guys were ecstatic for his victory, and they all headed home!!

Final Lap![]

Falcon's Followers (Final Lap!)

Falcon declared his prize as the Ultimate Championship Belt, merged from the Light/Dark Belts. It was unknown on what it can do, but Falcon offered Yugi to help him display it! They were about to go underway, until...

Three phantasms mocked Falcon as they flew around him and re-entered the Belt!! Falcon queried who they were, and they introduced themselves as the Creator. They were astonished he defeated Deathborn, their best creation, as well as made the whole world! Falcon denied they'd created Earth and such, but he was pissed they invented his greatest adversaries! They said there are no universal forces; it was a ploy for someone to win both races and attain both Belts, just so they can use him after they take his soul and make him stronger/surpass Deathborn!!

The heroes were furious, and Joey was the first to step to the plate with his Red-Eyes! Yugi followed unleashing his Dark Magician, and Tinsel took out her borrowed Blue-Eyes! Unfortunately, they did nothing as the Creator Ghosts imprisoned the Duelists inside their Monsters' Cards! Falcon was alone as he dealt with them on their own turf, the Phantom Road! As well as their own illusionary copy of his Blue Falcon!!

He challenged them without hesitation! And it was a very tumultuous race with sharp corners and no guardrails! As he studied the course and the Booster was activated, he accelerated while also desperately attempted to keep himself steady! It was a race not just for his life, but the galaxy and the Duelists were weighing on his shoulders! And he won against the Ghosts as the nose of HIS machine reached the goal inches away from theirs!!

In defeat, the Ghosts screeched and disappeared, and the Fortress returned to its normal looks. The Duelists emerged from their confinements unscathed! They were a little confused, but once they returned, they embraced their new hero!! They appreciated him more than ever, and Tinsel reprimanded him that he must have someone to watch his back, instead of tackling every crisis alone. He vows to do that as long as the Duelists keep their part of the bargain, by not unveiling his bat cave's location. The heroes left and resumed their own adventure, relieved to overcome Falcon's challenges. Outside, he took off his helmet and watched the moon, wishing he can rely on someone when the time comes...

One Year Later...[]

A male brunette woke up from cold sleep and was introduced to Jody Summer and Dr. Stewart. Little did he knew that this was the start of a GP Legend...

Trivia[]

  • Ikran thought of this since August 2004, while she was struggling thru GX's vindictive Story Mode, in order to cope with her angsts, she thought Yu-gi-oh would be the perfect fit. No better time since the first feature film, Pyramid of Light, was going to be released around that time.
  • She's not a huge fan, but she happens to like some of its monsters such as Dark Magician, Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Blue-Eyes White Dragon (all forms), Kuriboh, Catapult Turtle, Slifer the Sky Dragon, Curse of Dragon, Baby Dragon, and the Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress.
  • The tactic that Yugi pulled against the Bloody Chain was the same one Yami used in the Virtual World allowing him, Joey, and Mai passage to the Castle of Dark Illusions where the Kaibas were held.
  • This also highlights events of previous games, including the original and the Horrific Accident, X, and a certain someone awakened one year later from GP Legend.
  • There was a continuity error in her timeline. Since she never played X, Ikran always thought that GX took place 5 years after its predecessor, rather than 1. She never knew what the Accident was, till several years later. She thought it was 5 years because of the franchise's history, from 98-03.
  • Ikran especially despises casinos, even games based on luck than skill. Casino Palace is one of her least favorite venues! So too that Chapters 3, 5, 7, and 9 were her biggest killjoys!
  • She was also able to beat Laps 6 and 2 on all difficulties unlocking Daigoroh and Princia Ramode respectively!
  • Soon after she beat the Story Mode, it was the start of her junior year in high school! An early start, around September 4, 2004! About a month later, on Oct. 9, she saw GP Legend! Hence the inclusion of the anime taking place a year after GX! Instead of being an alt continuity.
  • Falcon's Followers was Ikran's first podfic/fanfic marathon; inspired by AVGN on each Season, and 616Entertainment in his History of...mostly Mortal Kombat.
