Storyline[]

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero[]

Fujin was one of the four guardians assigned by Raiden to guard and protect the Amulet of Shinnok and was the first of the gods that Bi-Han (then the Elder Sub-Zero) bested in order to acquire it (he is seen being torn asunder by his own tornado but survived the ordeal).

Mortal Kombat 4[]

He remained inactive until Shinnok, a fallen Elder God, escaped from the Netherrealm and decided to attack the Eternal Palace of the Elder Gods. Fujin tried to defend the Palace and fell from the Heavens while fighting to protect it. He was pursued by Shinnok's Army of Darkness and was saved by Liu Kang, Kai and Raiden, just before the minions could finish him. Being one of the few remaining Earthrealm gods, Fujin joined Raiden in his battle against his old enemy, assisting the Earthrealm forces.

The Earthrealm warriors were victorious, and Shinnok was once again trapped in the Netherrealm. Fujin consulted with the Elder Gods, who revealed to him that he had a new task. Raiden would be ascending to the pantheon of Elder Gods, and he chose Fujin to be the new protector of Earthrealm. Fujin accepted the position and promised Raiden that he would not fail him.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon[]

Fujin became aware of a change in Raiden's personality. He saw that the thunder god, while still seeking to protect Earthrealm, had grown to be ruthless. Raiden was now commanding the reanimated corpse of Liu Kang, who was killing many innocent people for unknown reasons. Fujin allied with Kung Lao in hopes that they could possibly find a way to save both Raiden and Liu Kang.

He learned from Kung Lao that Johnny Cage was gathering the Forces of Light. Fujin took part in the meeting held by Cage and in there he heard about Johnny Cage's encounter with Shinnok, he did not believe Johnny to have psychic powers, but something mentioned at the gathering caught his attention. Kenshi, a blind swordsman, mentioned the brothers Taven and Daegon. Fujin had been a friend of their family for ages, and he had questioned their father Argus when the two disappeared. He realized that Argus placed them on a quest, but now this quest was becoming corrupted by evil. The God of Wind searched for both brothers, hoping to prevent their progress and learn the true purpose of their quest. He confronted Taven in a forest outside of the Red Dragon Clan's headquarters and urged him not to enter, but Taven did not obey. Taven and Fujin battled, but in the end, Taven emerges victorious and continued his journey, regretting to have fought an old friend. Fujin is not seen again in the konquest.

He would later join the Forces of Light in the final battle against the Forces of Darkness and presumably died along with the rest of the Kombatants.

Mortal Kombat X[]

Twenty-five years before the main events of the story, Fujin fights alongside Raiden at the Sky Temple, defending the lifeforce of Earthrealm, the Jinsei, from Shinnok and his servants. Fujin fought the Oni of the Brotherhood of Shadow outside the Sky Temple using his control over the wind and his glaive in conjunction, killing several. When Quan Chi arrived with the three of the revived revenants Fujin and Raiden were forced back to the inner chamber of the Jinsei, Fujin using his wind powers in conjunctions with Raiden's lightning to hold the revenants back.

Shinnok's arrival bolstered the revenants, and the two gods made their last stand. Fujin saved Raiden from Quan Chi and grounded Stryker, but was attacked by Sindel, who attempted to kill him until Raiden incapacitated her. Both Earthrealm gods were knocked into the Jinsei chamber and nearly sealed into Shinnok's amulet, only saved by Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade and Kenshi's arrival.

Fujin was knocked out by a blast of Shinnok's dark magic. Fujin is revived after Shinnok was trapped in his amulet by Raiden, and the wind god accompanies Raiden to bring the amulet to the Elder Gods.

Mortal Kombat 11[]

Fujin returned in Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC as part of the Aftermath Story Mode expansion, marking his return to the franchise as a playable character for the first time in almost 14 years. He also serves as one of the protagonists of the Aftermath Story Mode expansion.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath[]

Fujin, Shang Tsung and Nightwolf return from a place that they were put in called the Void. They were able to escape after Fire God Liu Kang killed Kronika. Before working alongside Shang Tsung and Nightwolf to retrieve Kronika's Crown from an earlier point in time before it is taken by Cetrion, Fujin was called by Fire God Liu Kang to discuss something privately. Unfortunately, Fujin, Shang Tsung and Nightwolf are both arrive at the time of Kitana’s ascension into a Kahn, where their presences are caught by Kollector, alerting Kronika’s awareness of their return. After Nightwolf defeated Kollector, while both Fujin and Shang Tsung kill the two beasts which Kollector released, the three warriors manage to get out of the koliseum while the crowds cheering on Kitana Kahn’s victory.

While devising a plan to defeat Cetrion before securing Kronika's Crown, Fujin and Nightwolf initially rejected Shang Tsung’s idea about reviving Sindel from her revenant state, remembering what she did back in Shao Kahn’s past invasion on Earthrealm whereas Nightwolf, including Sindel herself were amongst the casualties. However, he and Nightwolf have no choice to stick with the sorcerer’s plan, starting from getting enough Jinsei waters from a recently compromised Sky Temple, then capture Revenant Sindel at Netherrealm. Fujin and his allies manage to dispose Frost’s new Cyber Lin Kuei and send Geras to the Chaosrealm. While infiltrating Netherrealm, they are caught by revenants Liu Kang, Kitana and Nightwolf, when the latter’s living younger counterpart sensed him nearby. Imprisoned at Shinnok’s Bone Temple, guarded by revenants Nightwolf and Sindel, Fujin wakes up Shang Tsung and Nightwolf. Just as Nightwolf manage to break free himself, he broke Fujin and Shang Tsung as well, proceeding their mission to capture revenant Sindel. When Shang Tsung absorbs revenant Nightwolf’s soul and killing him for fatally injuring the former, Fujin also disliked seeing it happen as younger Nightwolf, but have no choice to tell him to let it be, as they still need the sorcerer in their quest.

Once revenant Sindel is captured and put her in a coffin, Fujin and his allies acquire an assistant from Sheeva. With Sheeva’s guidance, Fujin and his allies must come across Dead Pool to enter the Soul Chamber. However, they are encountered by present Erron Black, Baraka and a horde of Tarkatan warriors. Despite a minor setback after Shang Tsung accidentally pushes a Tarkatan into a toxic pool results a breakout between both sides, they manage to secure Sindel’s coffin and get through present-Erron, Baraka and Jade thanks to Sheeva. After arriving at a Soul Chamber, Fujin aids Shang Tsung on reviving Sindel to her living-self, while Sheeva prevents Kitana Kahn and a recovered Kotal from interfering. After Sindel’s resurrection is a success, Fujin and his allies is assisted by Sindel to proceed their mission to Shang Tsung’s abandoned island to find the crown before the Briggs family does, knowing Kronika will send revenants Kabal and Jade, Bi-Han (now an undead Noob Saibot) and a reluctant older Jax to assist Cetrion there. While Sindel and Nightwolf stay on the surface to kombat Cetrion, Fujin and Shang Tsung proceed to Goro’s old lair where the crown is guarded by Noob Saibot and older Jax. After finally defeating Noob Saibot in a rematch, Fujin stops Shang Tsung from killing older Jax and manage to convince the latter to return to their side earlier. With Cetrion is the only one left, Fujin and his allies uses their combined powers to surround and overpower her, sending her back to Kronika, and finally securing the crown.

Whereas Nightwolf and older Jax return with Jacqui and younger Jax, while Sindel return to Kitana Kahn, Fujin and Shang Tsung immediately goes to the Fire Garden to give the crown to Raiden. But Raiden, Sub-Zero and the past Scorpion believe that Shang Tsung has tricked Fujin in some way, so they fight them. Once Raiden realizes that Shinnok's Amulet has taken over him, he assists Fujin and Shang Tsung. Kronika later arrives to Fujin, Raiden and Shang Tsung, only to retreat after being attacked. During the time of the battle at Kronika's Keep, Fujin and Raiden fights Shang Tsung after his betrayal. Shang Tsung then drains Fujin and Raiden's powers from them. Shang Tsung plans on draining their powers from them for eternity. Once Shang Tsung deceived everyone including Shao Kahn and Sindel, then erased Kronika from existence, it was revealed that Fire God Liu Kang tasked Fujin to ensure the sorcerer’s victory, despite the time risk on when Shang Tsung’s betrayal would occur once the crown had been preserved in his hand.

It is unknown where Fujin is in Fire God Liu Kang's ending. In Shang Tsung’s ending, Dark Fujin and Dark Raiden become the now emperor sorcerer’s enforcers.

A Date and a Destiny[]

FujinArmageddon

Kung Lao had his first date with Aiko Krackle, they leaned in for a passionate kiss after how much she really liked their outing. Until she first noticed a distant cry coming from a random monk. Kung Lao's keen vision followed the uproar to the Wu Shi Arena, and it was an elderly man who seamlessly took out several of them! He demanded to find Earthrealm's Champion, then the defenseless monks pleaded for their lives that Liu Kang left. He then heard a tenor speak behind him, in came Kung Lao. The skillful geezer was enthralled, and he introduced himself as Kung Lao, the descendant of the Great Kung Lao; he challenged him to Mortal Kombat, and the old man accepted. Lao said he was the second best, next to Liu Kang, and took him on. After several minutes of strenuous kombat, the wind elemental easily won over Lao, even overpowering him with his more advanced aerokinesis! He held Kung Lao still before he was healed. The monks received minimal damage, and he went by the name of Fujin. He criticized Lao he still had much to learn, though he seemed to have the potential to meet and even surpass his ancestor. He wanted to train his aerokinesis, and if he's interested, he shall find Fujin back at the Arena, in preparation for a probable war involving the Elder Gods.

Mortal Kombat: Shinnok's Uprising[]

Two years passed and Fujin was still Kung Lao's mentor advancing his aerokinesis in the Wind World; Aiko decided to come with him and be his mediator while also honing her skills in kombat and enlightenment. Much like the couple, and Nightwolf, even Fujin received some vague, though disturbing, visions of an ominous man in dark robes, blue skin, and wielding a staff; he identified the monster as Shinnok. He strongly believed they were omens to the upcoming konflict in the heavens and sure enough, he saw a massive cloud and the weather turned sporadic. In terror, he theorized Shinnok escaped from the Netherrealm and the Gods were under attack! He teleported Lao and Aiko to the Wu Shi Academy via funnel!

He was then seen as he crash landed onto Earthrealm, specifically close to the Bayan Har Mountains. Liu Kang and Kai came to his aide as they fought off the ambushing Army of Darkness' infantry, before Nightwolf's Dragon Jet intervened. Raiden then took him to the Jinsei Chamber to heal after he warned the Kombatants as they must gather their allies once more to defend the Earth and Edenia.

Fujin managed to catch up with Raiden inside the prison of the Edenian Palace, only to have a distraught Liu Kang after Shinnok already took Kung Lao and Aiko into the Netherrealm! He and his brother offered to assist the Champion there and decimate their ancient nemesis once and for all!

Fujin, Raiden, and Liu reached Shinnok's temple, the Fire Well, but they arrived too late for Lao and Aiko had their hearts corrupted. While Shinnok stunned the brothers, Liu was barely a match for the cardiokinetic and his best friend. Shinnok drew the hero close and was about to waste away his heart until Nightwolf performed a ritual that allowed his and the compatriots' strength to cross into the Netherrealm from the Edenian Palace. With Shinnok weakened by his pure memories and thoughts, he lost the Amulet temporarily by Liu's strong Kick, though Lao retrieved it via Teleport, and Shinnok attached it to the Staff! By the time Hanzo and Kuai restored the REAL Amulet at the Temple of Elements, Shinnok's powers ran out and realized he only was using the duplicate! Raiden stunned the usurped couple before taking them to the Jinsei while Liu backed the hapless Elder God to the spiked Well! Fujin pushed the monk aside before he and Raiden forced Shinnok into the massive spikes below!! The two Gods became the new Champions and escorted the hurt hero back to Edenia!

Fujin then met Aiko and Kung Lao comatose at the Sky Temple. He first woke up the wounded former monk and assured Shinnok was out of the picture for the next millennial or so since the Amulet remained on Earth. He was glad Lao and Aiko weren't dead nor churned into Revenants like they feared the most.

Meanwhile, Raiden ascended into the heavens and chose his younger brother to be Earth's new guardian. He soon broke the news at the Elder Gods' chamber after one of the celestials briefed the elemental on his new assignment. Fujin was enthusiastic on accepting in being Earthrealm's protector, and Raiden warned the people are good though have a tendency to self-destruct. He assured Raiden he won't fail him.

Mortal Kombat: Vengeance[]

Fujin came to Sonya and Johnny's aide while they were involved in a scrimmage against Hsu Hao in New York. The small funnel was enough to knock the traitor off his feet and toss him into a nearby dumpster! He snarked his aerokinesis needed more training, then he alerted the couple he and his brother have bigger problems; the Deadly Alliance assassinated Liu Kang, however, his spirit was saved by Raiden's dragon amulet. Inspired by Shinnok, he created it in case the inevitable should occur. He then opened a portal leading to the rendezvous point in Shang Tsung's devastated island, which its demise resulted the humongous pile of rubble. He was assigned by Raiden to recruit the distant Kombatants across Earthrealm as Raiden relinquished his Elder God status to intervene.

Fujin soon stopped by the Shirai Ryu headquarters and the clan noticed the gale of wind. In it came a baby named Takeda Takahashi and a note written by Kenshi begging for Hanzo's care over the kid. He warned Hanzo that Quan Chi returned from the Netherrealm, allied with Shang, and partially killed Liu Kang! Thanks to Raiden, his spirit was spared. Upon the news, Hanzo had to make a choice, either to pursue his old nemesis while chances are he may lose himself to his wraith persona, or care for the baby. He eventually decided to ally with Kuai and Frost. He transported them to Shang Tsung's Island, and they made an hour for any last-minute preparations and intros. Fujin and Raiden conjured a portal leading to the Celestial Portal which can take the heroes to Outworld, where the God brothers are still powerless. The team accepted, and they were underway.

Raiden and Fujin lead the gang to the main pillar beneath the portal, with the faces of the Asian sages guarding it. Raiden warned the warriors must overcome a trial to cross realms; only deities and sorcerers knew the consequences of the secretive though protected waystation. Before he took the lead, Kung Lao stepped up, determined to prove himself a match against the Deadly Alliance, only to have him deal with his Revenant self! Raiden and Fujin were impressed as he and Liu defeated him, and the former recovered courtesy of Kuai and Frost soothing his tepid temperature from Liu breaching his body. Raiden declared the way was clear and reminded the mortals'd be on their own. They took the mission and Raiden and Fujin wished them luck.

Fujin along with Raiden surprisingly arrived in Outworld assisting the heroes against the Tarkatan army, with the former by F2 tornado! Everyone was startled, knowing full well they can be powerless there, although the brothers confirmed due to their former Elder God status, their powers were enhanced slightly. Fujin halted Lao's formalities as they have bigger fish to fry. Kitana then suggested a brief respite before their final battle.

At the Tarkatan War Kamp, Raiden and Fujin scouted the bleak perimeter near the plateau, though he doubted the Unholy Alliance would try anything until the Kombatants should march onto their territory. He watched Lao meditate, then Aiko passed on Nightwolf's broth, and Lao was so regretful he was unable to save Liu from his tragic fate. The heroes soon witnessed the Soulnado, in which Fujin shielded the heroes from the microburst, and Raiden declared the sorcerers unlocked a portal to the Heavens putting angels hostage and absorbing an endless supply of souls! Fujin ordered Lao to assist him on shutting down the source of endless energy; better to take a minute amount instead of being astronomically powerful! Raiden distracted the demonic duo long enough, until he was being overpowered. They both noticed the wrathful Scorpion get his soul and body torn asunder within it, and the aeromancers were soon caught in the vortex! Until a lardo body intervened, turning them loose, who happened to Bo'!!

After the sacrifices, Lao and Fujin witnessed Raiden struggling against the Deadly Alliance with their fresh energy, and Liu's soul went straight for Lao's body! They merged once more, making aerosol moves while Nightwolf volunteered with his soul-empowered weapons! Fujin tended for his brother as he watched the gruesome battle, till Lao became irate and rained down severe blows till he conjured his Tornado Brutality!! Shang and the funnel eventually exploded! Leaving a wounded Lao in its wake.

Kenshi and Nightwolf carried him to the Nethership, where he rested in the cabin. Raiden and Liu declared he's the new Champion and equal to the chosen monk! Raiden and Fujin, causing it to fly to the opening in the sky as they powered up the ship, after Cage's observance of the vessel, instead of dreading going thru the Celestial Portal and its bleak trials.

Raiden and Fujin were still surveying the ruins of Shang's Palace, whether or not Outworld would be in chaos on account on its liberation. He discussed with Fujin on the possibility that Reptile, along with Baraka, would have also been time displaced, according to the latter's theory. But Quan denounced the resurrection of the Dragon King would soon commence. Fujin grew irritable and to his horror, Raiden witnessed the inanimate mummies reanimate themselves, moments before Fujin killed Quan, the sky darkened and flashed with radical lightning, and the Gods beheld Onaga letting out a roar that he was finally free!!

Mortal Kombat: The Return of the Dragon King[]

At Shang Tsung's Palace, he and Raiden were taking in a brief, quiet respite after escorting the Kombatants home; he heard his brother wonder if whether or not Outworld would be in chaos with their victory, until his reveries were interrupted by Quan Chi's muttered laughter! He halted Fujin on making a move, demanding what does he know of Onaga. Quan mocked it's a matter of time before his rebirth and he shall smite and rule over all realms, knowing their strength is futile! Enraged, Fujin finished off the sorcerer, but Raiden was the first who beheld the presence of Onaga! Even though they'd been weakened in Outworld, the God brothers were still fighting against the monstrosity! Lao took on the offensive first as soon as he and several other Kombatants ran thru a portal leading there, but it wasn't long before Lao was wounded. He even summoned Liu Kang's fiery dragon spirit back into the amulet before it was decimated, when Sonya, Jax, Johnny, Kitana and Nightwolf got involved. Needless to say, their efforts were futile, and Raiden was too weak from the scrimmage. He even prevented Lao from intervening again. All he did was make a desperate attempt in an incantation, conjuring lightning into himself! Fujin knew what was coming and before the fighters knew it, they were each caught in the explosion decimating the Palace and leaving only a scratch on Onaga!

Fujin was lucky enough to transport himself, Liu, Lao and Nightwolf to the Jinsei Chamber within the Sky Temple. He kept a constant observation on Kung Lao and Raiden who were impacted the most severely. Lao was the last to come to as he heard a soothing voice encouraging him to wake up; he thought it was his ancestor, but it turned out to be his mentor, even though the accent seemed different. Fujin stated only nine heroes were left on stopping the Dragon King while Sonya, Kitana, Johnny and Jax weren't so lucky... He recapped it was fortunate Onaga only found the fake amulet, but it won't be long to rebuild his undead army. Lao and Liu noticed their guardian hanging by a thread, and Fujin opened a portal leading to the outskirts of Edenia; they must address to Queen Sindel and find recruits strong enough to kombat the Dragon King and his forces.

He stayed with Raiden until he saw Kung Lao, Hanzo, and Li Mei be surrounded by archers as well as Johnny in the Kuatan Jungle! After Lao defeated him, Fujin saved the heroes by blowing the undead warriors asunder. He encouraged Lao and Hanzo to escape thru the portal while he took the wounded celebrity and Li to Earthrealm. Before he escorted them, he saw some red lightning bolts zigzagging the sky, thinking it could've been Raiden...

Fujin teleported both Li Mei and the revenant Johnny into Earthrealm; he was beheld by Aiko, Kenshi, Kitana, Jade, Sindel, and the Edenian royal guard. He offered to give Li Mei sanctuary as he'd take the group to the Temple of Elements, the settlement Raiden made to seal away the Amulet of Shinnok; however, he was appalled as he never dealt with an undead, so they offered to keep Cage imprisoned. He explained he needed to abandon his post at the Sky Temple to escort Li Mei, Hanzo and Lao to safety. He soon returned, only to find Raiden in a weakened state, lamenting he made a doppelganger of himself when he self-destructed; Fujin, never wanted to learn that technique as it'd cost his vitality. They both believed Shinnok possessed that capability too. Nevertheless, the Temple of Light and the Academy were in peril as Fujin's corrupt brother came to be, he figured since he was the one blasting the red lightning earlier! Raiden urged Fujin to stop him, before he sent some telepathic messages to Nightwolf.

He sent down a microburst onto Dark Raiden just before he was about to kill Kenshi. He challenged him in aerial kombat, while Lao and Liu took on the reanimated corpse below. Alas, Fujin wasn't strong enough to endure his brother's recklessness. He soon met the same paralyzing fate as Kenshi and Lao, before Nightwolf kept the former monk's vessel covered as the rainstorm electrocuted both Dark Raiden and Zombie Liu Kang! He was relieved to see Raiden's better self again, even after he was restored by hints from the Jinsei. He was soon warped to the Sky Temple with Nightwolf where he'd prepare the lethal Sin Eater ritual after recovery.

Fujin and Raiden observed Kung Lao running away from Onaga until he was gravely injured in the second coming to the Nexus! Goro then ambushed the tyrant as he carried him to Outworld. Fujin was able to see the final battle unfold until Raiden escorted the Champions and their friends to the Temple. Both brothers dreaded the crucial ritual as they hadn't done this in millennia. While he watched over Raiden and Nightwolf as they escorted and cleansed the Orientals' souls, he rang the gong at times for the next phase. Eventually, Lao was the first to come to as his recovered self, while Liu took longer as his spirit united with his irritated body. Nevertheless, the ceremony was successful, although it wasn't easy removing the Houan Chains. He and Raiden vowed to erase whatever is left of the ancient necromancers. He was overjoyed that Liu and Lao are known as Champions and the saviors to all realms without being cursed!

Final Kombat[]

Fujin was first seen scouting the Krimson Forest. He found Taven heading straight for the Red Dragon base beneath Charred Mountain! He was about to reason with the lone warrior, until his arm was suddenly frozen in place! He didn't know a mysterious Oriental stopped him from moving; he even gave his arm a tug to make sure he was still in place. He proceeded the destruction of the base, and as he did, Fujin regained himself. He was surprised to find the HQ ablaze, incinerating all the enemies inside! He then warned Raiden of the incident, thinking it was Blaze that began the calamity.

Fujin was late for Raiden's meeting, although he was able to find other teammates from the Special Forces and the Shirai Ryu. He was able to watch the summons, courtesy of Nightwolf, and apologized profusely to his brother. He stated that as he was chasing after Taven in the Krimson Forest, he needed to stop him from partaking in the quest, although he felt as if he was frozen in time till he beheld the Red Dragon base ablaze almost instantly. He also doubted that it was another incarnate of Liu Kang who performed these sudden occurrences, even rescuing Caro and sending him into the Netherrealm to save Aiko; he kept mentioning to Raiden unless they see who that mysterious Oriental is, how'd they know it's him. He was assured none of this happened from Blaze.

Fujin relieved his anxious brother once Liu returned from Edenia alone. He and Raiden became the judges for the trials for the remaining Kombatants: Liu, Lao, Nightwolf, Aiko, Kai, and Frederick. He tallied each of the results from the Tests of Might, Sight and Balance, and even operated on the second test. When they were done, the victors, excepting Lao and Frederick, went into the portal leading to the Edenian soiree, and he figured he and his brother can figure out how to explain Armageddon to the commonfolk.

Turned out the experiments with Aiko's heart gems were successful, thus emanating the positive energy onto the monks who'd pass them to deliver to the other Kombatants. Fujin was still clueless on all the riddles Raiden received, whether he must win or have their hearts be one and together. Raiden then discussed on his diffusion during his sacrifice onto Onaga, reforming on Earth and in the Jinsei and combining with his doppelganger after shocking it, so too with Shinnok's diffusion and possible reunion by his doppelganger. Fujin came to the conclusion that Raiden may physically join with a mortal before Blaze and wondered if it was possible! Raiden immediately took on the challenge as he headed to the Grotto while Fujin escorted Lao and Nightwolf to rendezvous with the other heroes.

Fujin was onboard the Netherwing with the other heroes en route to the southern crater. He was one of the awed warriors beholding Fire God Liu Kang, the merged version of himself and Raiden; he was the only one who sensed Raiden's essence and considered him to still be his brother. He had his hands full against Shang Tsung, until Liu intervened. He, Lao and Taven stayed with him even when the Pyramid rose kickstarting the fatal race to Blaze! Fujin obliged with Lao and Taven to fend off enemies while Liu took on Blaze.

Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Taven and Fujin observed the fatal ascension to Blaze with their allies losing or being dead. Spotting the Saurians, Liu urged the Chameleons to take him and the trio up. He assigned the demigod, the Wind God, and his brother to defend it while Liu marched up to be stopped by his enemies. Taven, Fujin and Lao rushed up knowing Liu and Raiden were sacrificing their lives for all life! He forced them down as he redirected Blaze's detonation, but his strength won't hold. As a last attempt, he made a burst of flames, only...it was a flame shield, protecting his allies from Blaze's which was rumored to erase Kombatants from existence!! The firestorm raged from the Pyramid making everyone lose consciousness from the volatile impact! Liu and Raiden managed to utter their last words in unison, "I, must win..." Before he was never seen again... Fujin then grieved for Raiden and Liu's losses until he was informed by the elder Liu Kang (the Keeper of Time) that they will live within his heart. He and Lao had been anointed as the new Protectors of Earthrealm. He still made the Sky Temple as his sanctuary, aside from the Wind World, even when he was hanging out with Ashrah; it was also revealed that he's gay much like Smoke and Jin! He still functioned as Earth's guardian as the Special Forces dealt with Kotal and his new recruits.

Kontentment[]

Fujin was seen with Shang and Nightwolf as the sorcerer stopped Liu from using the Hourglass without Kronika's Krown, and he was convinced that if he did, then reality would be destroyed. He went with the duo while Liu stayed behind, and he was soon killed along with Raiden as they lost to Shang.

Koherence[]

Appearance from Koheremce and other stories ahead

Fujin was assigned by Raiden to watch over the Shaolin in his stead as he visits the Matoka's sacred land with Nightwolf, Liu and Lao. He and Kai met up with Kenshi and Aiko, with the previous day as the cardiokinetic was personally trained by the telekinetic in coherence. He led a meeting with the White Lotus Society in which their numbers had been dwindling as they lost enlightenment due to the negative side effects of meditation. They were also aware of the omnipotence of the Makeba drums and how they affect Aiko ever since her and Kenshi's journey thru Outworld in search for the Deadly Alliance.

After that, he went with Kenshi and Aiko's plan on creating a riveting rock song at his brother's Sky Temple, along with Ashrah, as he's a master of a woodwind and volunteered to sing to it! There was no time to waste as they'd about 4 days left... They began rehearsing after Goro and Jerrod volunteered to be the drummer and keytarist respectively. Since then, they'd been antsy of the upcoming ceremony although Fujin had no trouble adjusting his voice and singing the number well; he was one of the few people who had the easiest time mastering the performance! He even affirmed that the Chinese time zone has 13 hours ahead of Anerican's Eastern Standard Time, thus, according to Aiko's foggy memory, they must begin at 8pm compared to their 7am when the assembly starts. He was amazed when his brother visited and became astonished of the preps for the song that would restore the Shaolin and safeguard their own hearts from the event ahead.

On the last day, Fujin alerted Aiko at the White Lotus grounds that she made a mistake that it was 13 hours compared to her eight hours. And they only have about seven hours left. He warned they may hear some murmurs as the heart gems are still intermixed with the Matoka, and the tension was increasing. He then gave the signal as soon as the last born emerged from the teepee waiting for his new Matokan name and adoption. He led Aiko thru the announcement and signaled Kenshi to kick it off! Followed by Ermac, Goro, and Ashrah while Aiko just danced and conducted before he sang the verses with excellent precision! Aiko offered for Fujin to sing it rather than her as it's done by a guy.

The first number ended, but he noticed the ritual's going on longer than expected, so he and Aiko immediately switched to their backup number as Fujin played his woodwind with Kenshi and Ashrah starting it off. He blown until Ermac took over the chorus, and when the second verse repeated the first, he repeated the melody. As they went to the chorus again, he and Aiko sang it loud and clear, encouraging everyone we are the champions, rather than having a strong will and hearts full of desire to succeed! Fortunately, the assembly was done as the Shaolin cheered and Raiden was impressed for a job well done!

The Tribal Ceremony[]

In the fourth ceremony, Unaliving Liu Kang enlisted Aiko, Kung Lao, Raiden, Geras and Fujin. He was intrigued on finally embracing the Makeba, African, Native American and other tribal customs as promising guardian of Wind for Earthrealm! And so, he made himself his own exotic attire! He also wishes to become closer to Nightwolf and Kung Jin, even defend his newfound brethren in decimating Darkseid.
