Amy Rose (エミー・ローズ Emī Rōzu?), also known as Rosy the Rascal (ロージー・ザ・ラスカル Rōjī za Rasukaru?), is a fictional character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with a major crush on Sonic the Hedgehog. Since meeting Sonic on Little Planet, Amy has become his self-proclaimed girlfriend and has attempted to win his heart by any means during their adventures. She wields the Piko Piko Hammer, a powerful melee weapon which she uses with skills second to none and never leaves home without.
Amy is a cheerful, though slightly erratic girl, with a positive attitude and boundless energy. However, she has a scary temper and her infatuation with Sonic makes her shortsighted and a bit obsessive about him, having followed him everywhere since meeting him. Nevertheless, she has a pure heart and will not let anything stop her.

She is the adopted daughter of Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough, her two brothers are Silver the Hedgehog and Charmy Bee, her two sisters are Princess Sally Acorn and Cosmo the Seedrian, and her three aunts are Bunnie Rabbot, Marine the Raccoon, and Rouge the Bat, and her secret name is Ruby.
Her signature weapon is her trusty Piko-Piko Hammer. She can make it appear at will.
Amy Rose's first game she ever starred in was Sonic CD, with a lime green blouse with short, puffy sleeves and an orange tutu. Since then, she has become one of the most well-known characters.
She is the leader and speed type of her group Team Rose in Sonic Heroes, in which she joins Cream the Rabbit (fly type) and Big the Cat (power type).
In Sonic Adventure, Amy's story had her helping a bird and getting into heaps of trouble. In Sonic Adventure 2 she convinced Shadow that Maria wouldn't have wanted him to destroy the earth, in the end winning him over.
