Firelord only made his appearance as the Fantastic 4, the Silver Surfer, and the Zenn-La space fleet were heading to Planet Xandar. Johnny immediately took on the second mission on looking for Shalla-Bal along with Norrin, though Terri was reluctant if whether or not the AstroWing can take the heat. The trio made it thru, though Shalla was nowhere to be found, contrary to Elmar's premonition. He was finally confronted by the trio inside his volcanic lair and he was a mighty pyrokinetic! Johnny and Norrin were at a standoff due to his immense abilities and utilizing the planet's magma! Terri made the crucial decision on disconnecting the ship's air conditioner and rewire it to the shooters, making ice jets. With the constant volley of ice made from the frigid reaches of the universe, Firelord was encased in ice! Though Johnny had to escort Terri out since she fainted when the ship's power to endure the intense heat was drained.
