Firion is a playable character in Final Fantasy II and is the main protagonist and leader of the party. Firion and his adopted siblings Maria, Guy, and Leon, lived in the village of Fynn until it was attacked by the Palamecian Empire. Firion subsequently joined the Wild Rose Rebellion and became one of their key warriors in the war against the Emperor.

Firion is the first main character in the series with a default name and a narrative driven storyline, unlike the playable characters of the original Final Fantasy.

Firion is also a hero fighting for the side of Cosmos in Dissidia Final Fantasy and Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy.

Representing Final Fantasy II, Firion is a young man skilled in armed combat with a variety of weapons. Passionate with an unshakable sense of justice, Firion fights for a world "where wild roses can bloom freely," symbolizing freedom from war and tyranny. His dream stands in opposition to the desires of his adversary, the Emperor. In Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, Firion's fighting style was heavily re-balanced.

Body of Dark, Heart of Light[]

Firion met Cecil as he failed to catch Zidane at the slippery Order's Sanctuary. Firion introduced himself to the Paladin and became fast friends with him, as he was a lot more supportive than several others. He assured Cecil could master his dark arts, like any other weapon. By the time he was challenged by the Warrior, he wished him luck. And when Cecil couldn't control his urges, Firion tried to handle him, but was backhanded. He was seen later at the Crystal World followed by Yuna and Kain and found Cecil succumbing to Kuja and the Dark Crystal enhancing his malice. Firion tried to talk some sense into him, begging him to never lose the good side, but he nearly died trying. Yuna and Kain couldn't revive him, although by the time Kuja was defeated, Cecil as a Paladin figured out that he can heal, the opposite on usurping life. It worked! Firion was grateful that Cecil was his normal self and vowed to bring the eternal conflict to a close.

Dissidia Shadowgate[]

Firion led the Cosmos warriors thru Stormhaven, and Shadowgate as they were instructed by the fallen Cosmos to save the worlds from the Behemoth and the dreaded warlock lord. Firion was the true leader of the bunch, and he'd defeated various foes like the mighty dragon assisting Luneth and Terra, the wyvern with Kain, and even defeating the Behemoth itself heeding the wizard, Lakmir's, words on assembling the Staff of Ages while using his EX Burst, Fervid Blazer, blasting the beast back to Hell and taking the warlock with him! At one point, he fell to its immense prowess, causing him to be in Heaven with an endless field of wild roses. Cosmos gave him a choice to either stay as his dream was realized or keep fighting. He chose to do the latter, and eventually he disappeared to a wooded area where he raised by a small family of deer.

It was implied he has left Fynn several months ago as he headed to Salamand to pay his respects to his birth parents. One night he got into a drunk stupor and was close to dying. Thus, he wound up in Dissidia, defeated Mateus, and soon Chaos. By the time his journeys ended, he stumbled toward the kingdom of Fynn and was taken in by Princess Hilda. He soon recovered, then reunited with his old friends, Maria and Guy. The former was tearfully joyful, and he still kept the rose she gave to him awhile back, even though it was found by Golbez. Firion looked to the sunset and wished to see his friends again and thanked them especially Cosmos and Lightning for their endless support of his fight and his dream.

Wintertime in Salamand[]

In it, Firion, Maria and Guy were at Salamand, his old hometown. There, his and Maria's relationship began to bud, and he taught her how to ice skate; this was one of his greatest pastimes and she eventually mastered it. Until Guy failed and ruined Tristan and Lux's skating! He scolded the troll, and the frozen lake beagn to break! Firion was too stunned to refreeze it, though Guy was the one who saved Maria and Lux before the ice flows should go off the precipice. Firion tired his damndest to recover Guy with his Fire spells, though he'd worn himself out. By morning, however, he was fine, and Lux and Tristan invited the three msuketeers for some hot cocoa and welcomed them as the new heroes.

Trivia[]

  • Ikran prefers his VA from Dissidia, John Bosch, the same one who played Kung Jin in Mortal Kombat X.
  • Ironically, Firion always had trouble/enthrallment with women, whereas Kung Jin's gay.
  • Unlike the Puppet of Light, she always wanted Firion to take on a leading role, thus his in Dissidia: Shadowgate.
