Frolem was sent down by Admiral Malkor to freeze Earth; when the Megaforce Rangers initially attack him, Gia tries to prove herself to the team by using a special Rockrush combo she had been developing, only to get herself hurt in the attack. Angered, Jake slices a part of Frolem's wing with his Smake Axe before he gets away, only to reappear to freeze a greater expanse. When the Rangers appear again, he tries to freeze them until Troy uses a Twistornado card to blow away his ice attacks, opening him to direct attacks. With Jake and Gia working together, they pummel Frolem with a proper combo prior to the team defeating him with the Megaforce Blaster.
After Vrak revives him with Zombats, the Rangers send out the Gosei Great Megazord and withstand more ice attacks. Jake and Gia use their Snake and Tiger Zords to pummel Frolem with kicks until destroying him with the Victory Charge.
