(At night in the Isle of Berk at Hiccup's home, Hiccup and Toothless are in their room, playing chess together on the floor with the cabin fire on with the young viking and night fury dragon taking turns on moving their pieces to play)
- Hiccup: Ah, yeah. What a game Toothless. You must be on a roll.
- Toothless: *move his piece*
- Hiccup: You can go easy on me on winning. *move his piece* Your turn bud.
- Toothless: *move his piece*
- Hiccup: Pretty easy huh? One by one. *move his piece*
- Toothless: *move his piece while yawning*
- Hiccup: Are you tired? Must be a short game for you. *move his piece*
- Toothless: *felt asleep and move his piece*
- Hiccup: The game isn't going to slow you down bud. We still got time to play before we rest. *move his piece*

- Hiccup: Toothless? Hello?
- Toothless: *snore*
- Hiccup: Oh come on. Now you're sleeping on the game? Why do you have to sleep during one piece move? We been playing for like one minute.
- Toothless: *mimic Hiccup*
- Hiccup: Toothless. You can mimic people later on. But we got a game to catch up.
- Toothless: *annoyed and move his piece*
- Hiccup: You got issues, huh?
- Toothless: *growls and move his piece*
- Hiccup: Whoa. I wouldn't say that if I were you. Sorry about that, hon.
- Astrid: *enter the room* Hiccup, what is going on?
- Hiccup: Oh, hey Astrid. Me and Toothless are playing some chess. Sun's getting real low and sun's getting real high. Toothless think we should be getting some sleep.
- Toothless: *tell Hiccup*
- Hiccup: Oh. Toothless think we should just end the game right now.
- Astrid: But you haven't even finish the game yet.
- Hiccup: Like what? In just one minute? That is too early to ask.
- Toothless: *realize how many spaces to move and move his piece to take all of Hiccup's pieces and win the game.
- Hiccup: You won?! Seriously?! Come on! I was just getting started!
- Toothless: *laugh*
- Astrid: Toothless is just a chess champion.
- Hiccup: No fair! I should have won.
- Astrid: That's what happen when you don't pay attention to your pieces.
- Hiccup: I was. But how did Toothless manage to win by a landslide?
- Toothless: *laugh and lick Hiccup*
- Hiccup: Okay Toothless. You win. You owe the day. I should have call it quits and call the night. Let's clean up.
- Toothless: *waggle his tail*
- Hiccup: *pick up the pieces and the chess board* We got a long day tomorrow at Berk.
- Astrid: Get some rest. You got work with the vikings tomorrow.
- Hiccup: *put the chess game away in the box* I know. Better off sleeping.
- Toothless: *sleep on his bed*
- Hiccup: Goodnight bud. Good game tonight. You know how to win by getting all the pieces.
- Astrid: Boys. *leave the room*
- Hiccup: *get on the bed* You're fast on everything. I could tell. Take a good rest and we're off the hooks. *sleep*
(Hiccup, Toothless and Astrid sleep in the house on the Isle of Berk for the rest of the night after playing chess)
