Hyp, originally voiced by Whit Hertford and later by Michael Kelley, is a character in The Land Before Time III: The Time of the Great Giving and TV series. He is an adolescent Hypsilophodon and first appears in The Land Before Time III: The Time of the Great Giving.
Due to insecurities about his family life, he tends to bully younger children, especially the main characters of the series, in order to feel stronger and braver. Because of this, he serves as the secondary antagonist, behind the Sharpteeth in the movie and ahead of his lackeys, Mutt and Nod. He later became a supporting protagonist in the film.
He reappears in the TV episode "The Great Egg Adventure" and is once again a bully. Like the film, the episode manages to give him some development, although it is unclear at this point if it will truly stick.

Hyp is very much of a bully. His first appearance is A New Ally Is A Fast Biter?. He, along with Mutt and Nod, always appears every time Ash and co. enter a cave. He also seems to be respected by Paul and Ursula and has a rivalry with Mac. After Ash challenged Hyp to a Pokémon battle, Hyp remarked on how stupid Ash is for thinking he has any Pokémon, but he also claims that he'll catch some of his own very soon, which made him one of Ash's rivals. In Nod Out Paul, he revealed to have an Omastar.
