James Avery

James LaRue Avery was an American actor and voice artist. Among his well known roles include patriarch Phil Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and War Machine in Iron Man. He succumbed to complications of open-heart surgery in 2013. He voiced Osiris in Disney's Animated Myths and Legends. He voiced additional characters in The Quest for Beasts and The Danger Joe Show as well as starring as Nelson Mandela in Animated Historical Heroes.
