Jarek is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series, who made his debut in Mortal Kombat 4.
First debuting as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 4, Jarek was depicted as the brutish and short-tempered second-in-command of the Black Dragon clan. In the games, he initially utilized special moves and fatalities popularized by Kano, a trait later explained by stating that Jarek was once a student of his. Jarek's lack of originality caused him to be labeled as a somewhat uninspired character by the Mortal Kombat fanbase. He would later gain his own unique move set in Armageddon.
Mortal Kombat: Shinnok's Uprising[]
Jarek was first seen chasing Sonya thru Shanghai, China. She was unable to catch up to the lethal criminal, even kicked her in the chest and getting away on his motorbike, before a black chopper picked up the lieutenant.
He then followed Jax into a portal to Edenia and eventually found Sonya again near a precipice. She confronted him and he refused to be taken into the Special Forces, as he eavesdropped on the threats involving Shinnok. Sonya's agility was a little too much for Jarek as he slipped off the cliff. Only to grab her by the boot and pull her down with enough force! He was then cornered by Jax who had him in a neck lift! He brought him over the edge as Jarek begged him to uphold the law and have him arrested. Jax would rather have Jarek involved in a Fatality, let alone in another realm, as Jarek figured it was police brutality! Jax then dropped him toward the lake fifty feet down and his body was oozing with blood while it sank!
Final Kombat[]
It's likely Jarek had been resurrected from the firebombing at the Red Dragon caverns, unlike Kano and Mavado. He then challenged Kai during the Battle of Armageddon and lost.
