Kaitlin Star (played by Sarah Brown) is a reporter and photographer for a newspaper called Underground Voice Daily. When she wasn't saving the world as a heroine, she was saving it through her journalism and photography. As a Trooper, Kaitlin didn't have as many personal weapons and attacks. She carried around a hand pistol, occasionally a hatchet weapon, and later gained the ability to split into two dubbed "VR Kaitlin Double Team." She mainly fought alongside J.B. and often served as backup for both male troopers via the VR Skybase and the VR Battle Cruiser. Kaitlin, on two events, demonstrated the ability to heal a fellow trooper by transferring some of her power to re-energize the other Trooper. Although Kaitlin never finished off a mutant herself, she and JB would often combine their laser pistol blasts in a "VR Double Team", usually stunning and weakening a mutant, with a few exceptions. This is not to be confused with the "VR Kaitlin Double Team", where she summons an exact duplicate of herself to assist her in battle (the reason for this is because her counterparts are actually two people from Spielban). She drives a Mazda Familia Hatchback, which was modified by Prof. Hart to fly and thus making travel and rescue operations faster. Kaitlin tends to stand with her hands on her hips quite a lot, even walking with her hands on her hips. This is a trait of Sarah Brown's that was passed onto the character. Also to note unlike Ryan and JB, Kaitlin's parents were never mentioned or seen in the series. Her signature color is red.

We Are VR Troopers![]
Kaitlin was one of the main characters in the Virtual Reality war. Her partner is Snake, the captain of the Deathskin Razors, and part of The General's special team. She was actually more supportive than the other Troopers, as she didn't get involved in many fights as Ryan and JB. She does grow anxious on the welfare of her comrades, especially after Prof. Hart sacrificed himself and the lab as the Troopers escaped! She then used her Troopertron and assisted JB against the Grimstars, Airship, and Gen. Ivar. Then, she reunited with Snake and her undead cohorts; they used to have a grudge against her, and her evil double created by Grimlord's mirrors. However, after retaining memories of her valiance, they quickly had a change of heart. With Blood Clot joining the fray, they boarded the Skybase and infiltrated Col. Icebot's Sky Castle and destroyed the central control unit! However, they got stranded on the runway as it was collapsing!
Thanks to Ryan's Blue Hawk, they escaped, and she and Snake went on the pursuit for Despera destroying the Mutants with her lethal staff! Her double sacrificed herself protecting the original, and Snake finished the job by decaying her. While Ryan took the fight to Grimlord, she witnessed JB losing to Doom Master! Till Clot intervened. She mostly assisted the other Mutants till the Dark Fortress was destroyed winning the war!
Kaitlin reunited with JB at Tao's Dojo and by the time Ryan recovered, she agreed with JB they can settle with each other while Ryan falls for Ling! She helped the special team win the Mayhem Bowl as well. Several years later, she gave birth to Katie and Jerome and became a promising journalist for Los Angeles after college! She then became one of the future Troopers' promising mentors.

- In We Are VR Troopers, it's implied that Kaitlin's allergic to barley, rye and wheat; this is true since her actress actually does suffer from gastrointestinal diseases from them.
