Biography[]
Belle[]
Kakeshi Kun first appears as his AS, Justin in the arena to fight the Dragon where Belle is preforming Gales of Song. He is seen with the justices and a lot of sponsors claiming he's planning on unveiling the Dragon.
Later on, Kakeshi is seen in an interview stream hosted by Gogo Doggo and Mr. Reggsignation that Suzu comes across while browsing, in which he talks about the living state of himself and his two sons. Despite their mother dying 7 months prior, he says that all three of them lead a happy life and get along greatly, which is all a lie.
In U, Justin captures and interrogates Belle, threatening to unveil her identity to the world if she refuses to cooperate. The Dragon's AIs rescued Belle, but their intervention allows Justin and his group to locate the Dragon's castle and burn it down.
When Tomo is located singing Belle's song on a livestream, Kakeshi enters the room, disturbed by his singing and claiming he can not focus on his work. As he readies to hit Tomo for his supposed disobedience against his rules, Kei throws himself between the two. Displeased by this development, Kakeshi states that Kei should know better than to act against him at his age and tells him that he is worthless, wanting him to disappear. When Suzu unveils herself to the world in U and sings, he ends up losing his sponsors.
After Suzu reaches Kei and Tomo with her singing, Kakeshi becomes aware that his abuse had been recorded and shared online. Enraged, he storms back into the room his sons are in and cuts the livestream off before they are able to tell Suzu their home address, effectively cutting off their only hope for being saved. However, as Suzu still manages to find them through the help of her friends, Kakeshi is eventually confronted by her as he tries to force both of his sons back inside after they left the house without permission. When Suzu protects both Kei and Tomo, Kakeshi strikes her, drawing blood. However, unused to have someone stand up to him, Kakeshi is eventually overcome by his own emotions and shock, fleeing the scene.
While what happens to him after isn't shown, he could got arrested while his sons' abuse was exposed on a direct video.
Appearance[]
Kakeshi Kun is a fifty-seven-year-old man with black short hair, light brown eyes and tan skin. He wears a white collared shirt, a silver watch on his wrist, black jeans, white socks and black shoes.
As his AS, Justin is a handsome man with a tall stature. He has long blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin and a white suit of armor with streaks of red.
Personality[]
Kakeshi Kun is a single father who raises his two sons, Kei and Tomo, on his own. He's a narcissistic control freak who is rude, mean, and an abusive father. He has bullied his sons to depression and tore the face off of a child who was trying to help. His abuse comes from his explosive temper. However, he is able to appear as a perfectly loving father in public, which is all a lie just to teach them discipline and complete obedience in his household. Like many abusers, when confronted by Suzu, who isn't scared to stand up to him, he reveals himself as a coward at heart.
Inside "U", Justin is the leader of the Justices, a group of corps that are proclaiming themselves the unofficial protectors of justice and order within the virtual online space of "U". He carries a handgun capable of unveiling other users, given to him through his countless deals with sponsors. As unveiling is usually limited to "The Voices", the creators of "U", he believes himself to be the equivalent of the law despite having no direct ties with the administrators. Although he claims to be a hero, Belle ousts him as a tyrant who wants control over people.

Trivia[]
- Some fans of the movie theorize that Kakeshi Kun is Justin, as both are obsessed with rules and enforcing harsh punishments on those who break their rules
- He serves as a dark parallel to both Suzu and his oldest son, Kei:
- Suzu: Both of them have lost their loved ones. However, Suzu is being compassionate, empathetic, selfless, loyal and brave when she protected Kei and Tomo and lets go of her resentment toward her mother, but he is the opposite: he was cold-hearted, cruel, selfish, disloyal and a coward and was unable to release his unhealthy resentment of his wife. He serves as an example of what Suzu would've become if she hadn't reconnected with her father and friends or been honest with herself, including understanding her mother's actions.
- He is also an example of what his son Kei would have become if the latter doesn't need trust and help from anybody (including Suzu) to the point of being distant from everybody and his younger brother Tomo.
