Karui is an exchange studen from Kumogakure, or Village Hidden in the Clouds, where she moved over to Konoha Highschool after hearing about its outstanding I.B Programing. Along with her boyfriend Omoi (CastleFalcon), she moved out-of-village to pursue her acedemic achievments.
Later on in Naruto: Family, she becomes good friends with Sakura Haruno (CastleFalcon), Karin (CastleFalcon), Matsuri (CastleFalcon), Hinata Hyuga (CastleFalcon), and Ino Yamanaka (CastleFalcon); Tenten (CastleFalcon) being one of the best of friends she has ever had.
