Kou Leifoh is a playable protagonist from The Bouncer.

A bouncer at Fate. A man of many words, he is cocky and sets the mood for the rest of the group. Fortunately, he is not all talk; he also has the skills to back up his smart mouth.

Kou was originally the only male heir to the prestigious Hurst family. Academically bright and highly talented, he also desired to excel in martial arts - something that his mother did not approve of and find safe for his and their family's security.

Constantly pleading his mother to practice Tae Kwon Do, Kou left home after having enough of his mother's overprotectiveness and sought out a school to teach him, as he also believed that the one to truly inherit his family's name must not also be knowledgeable and striving, but also physically fit and strong.

Over the span of two years, Kou prodigiously excelled in his martial art of choice at 14, and even earned high marks by his grandmaster after going face to face with him in battle. Growing older, the grandmaster also regarded Kou as a worthy successor of the school, even though as that was not even possible for him and the ecstatic Kou, as the prestigious Hurst family name was the very obstacle.

Later on, when he was 20, Kou enrolled into the investigation agency LUKIS, desiring something more thrilling and adventurous in his life. Passing with flying colors during training, it was then Kou started to grow tired of the fame associated with his family name, often getting him misappropriate perceptions of an elite upper-class man, which nearly got him disqualified with his overseeing senior officer.

During his career at LUKIS, he had also met Leann Caldwell, another high-ranking agent, yet more careful and thorough than the excitable Kou, where he had warmly received her upon their introduction. On the mission that followed, Leann had unexpectedly tripped up the attention of their opposition's security. Coming in mass and more than expected, Kou helped draw their attention, while she was told to make a quick getaway. Surviving and succeeding, Leann received a promotion, and their relationship blossomed further, as she owed Kou a date.

A year prior to the events of Mikado's official launch for their new solar energy technology, LUKIS received crucial information regarding Mikado's ulterior motives, and including their research concerning questionable bionic and biological applications. With Leann as the leader of the mission to infiltrate Mikado, Dominique soon was spotted in Edge with Sion at FATE. Because of this, Kou was ordered to get a full body tattoo to help fit in on Dog Street with his surveillance activities.

Applying as a bouncer at FATE, the recession didn't help at all, as Boss didn't have enough money on his payroll for the position. Attending as a regular, Kou showed some goodwill and also helped keep roughhousers in line, and because of this, Dominique also helped negotiate things to help get Kou in as a bouncer for the bar.

The Bouncer Tetralogy[]

Kou was first seen at the top floor in the Fate bar, and he assured Dominique as long as the bouncers aren't doing anything, it means the Fate bar's doing just fine. And before Sion began his shift, he reminded him it was actually one year ago he started the giant brawlfest, thus Dominique celebrated Sion's first anniversary as a bouncer by gifting him a pendant. Then, Mikado's Special Forces raided the bar! He, Volt, and Sion were being overmatched and Dominique got captured and taken to Mikado! As Sion became anxious to go there, Kou contacted Leann to offer a ride fast, despite her irritation on letting the target get away; she advised they needed to board a cargo train in 30 mins. They barely did as they were being distracted by pursuing Mooks and Rent-a-cops.

On the train, Kou was being uncomfortable from the cold temp, and seemed sarcastic of Volt's extensive knowledge of Mikado, saying that Dominique's already there. They were then ambushed by several more Rent-a-cops along with Volt's rival, Echidna. Kou even responded with a misogynist comment which put her in a berserker rage! Then, the brakes were cut thanks to the Orage's firing. Kou was angered of Leann's recklessness and Sion failed to find the card key, resulting the seawater to deluge the maze! He barely escaped as he saved Sion after he slipped, before he got trapped by one of the emergency shutters. Kou made another snarky comment as Sion had a cocky idea on leaping onto a pursuing Air-Carrier. They boarded one, but the pilot got scared, causing them to get stranded in the hanging garden, then defeated Mikado's Special Forces. With all the security, Kou assumed it'd be the place!

He soon met Ayame unexpectedly and assumed she'd be a soldier from her attire, though she wasn't. Kou wasn't so thrilled, like the other bouncers, even when she extended her Power Pole to get to the Dome. Kou queried while the old geezer would be fighting a madman, which turned out to be Sion's master, Wong, getting killed by Dauragon! Kou commented on how confident he was after tying behind a hand behind his back with a chain, although the fight with him and the panther was nearly too much! The trio became separated, and Kou managed to survive, albeit pissed by a wicked smell in a locker room. He was still hotheaded as he bashed a Mook, and being he was in enemy territory, he wore the disguise while the Mook was still comatose. He received instructions and data from Leann on how the Mooks communicated with different motions; he must imitate the same one otherwise he'd be marked as an intruder. He was doing well, till a Mook was moving too fast and demanded him to identify himself. With his cover blown, he was ganged on by the Mooks, until Goten busted out of a vent and assisted him. Kou grew irritated a kid would help him and make him vulnerable to which he replied Ayame was the one who sent him here. They both teamed up to find Dominique and the Dragon Ball in her possession, though Goten stayed in the vents on standby for another ambush! Kou managed by luck on copying the proper communication from the Mooks, even doing 2 poses at a time! He continued up an elevator to the executive floor for some "secret cargo," though the ringing on his comm made Kou retract and fib as his alarm clock went off. Fortunately, the Mook bought it and Kou shut off the comm. He met up with Sion who was being strangled by Mugetsu, but he decided to get rid of Dominique. Volt grabbed him by the neck and threw him toward Mugetsu, breaking his hold. Goten reunited with the other Z-Fighters and Kou discarded his disguise after being pissed on hurting him with Volt's stunt. He commented on Mugetsu's wrath the moment he loses his cool, he'll lose the battle.

After the Special Forces were defeated, he interrupted the reunion of Sion with Dominique and Volt instructed they should take the rocket tower! He hoped things won't take a turn for the worst. Unfortunately, security activated the robots, and one Bouncer has to escort Dominique; Sion and Ayame volunteered while Kou and the others distracted the guards.

GotenxKou

Kou and Goten

Kou, Volt and Sion dealt with a PD-4 while Ayame and Dominique were stunned, though they were surrounded by 5 more! Dominique went haywire and wiped them out; much to Kou's horror as she had been activated. He was so irritated when he saw Mugetsu take Dominique to the Galeos. Kou was surprised of Volt's revelation that she's the replica of Mikado's dead sister as a weapon of destruction, and since he was Master Mikado's personal guard. Kou then turned on the comm for reinforcements. Goten even confessed to Ayame and Trunks that Kou was willing to destroy Dominique, if necessary; he assured he's not a bad person, and he was only following orders from LUKIS, despite his heart saying otherwise. They soon defeated Echidna and found an Air-Carrier to reach the Galeos. Leann called him to do so while the Orage and the LUKIS fleet slow down the Galeos, at least before the boosters should ignite.

Then, he and Sion fought off Mugetsu, while Volt piloted the ship. He confronted the panther and was surprised it was Kaldea! Only to have her be lost to Sion as he killed her with his chain!! Remembering Ayame's nervous breakdown as a hospital was being destroyed, Kou came to terms it was the satellite/shuttle launch rumors had it.

He then discovered Dauragon's true motives on ruling the world with absolute power with a solar-powered satellite and Dominique as its laser-guiding system! Sion commanded Dominique to stop which her control was broken and shut down the system. Kou was optimistic and foolish to save the world, and confronted the tyrant with Volt and Sion, but they were unsuccessful after three lethal fights! Kou was down, even when the Saiyan kids made their move, till Ayame was held hostage! Luckily, she was able to shove a Senzu Bean down their mouths, restoring their vitality, and Goten and Trunks finished him with their own sucker punch! Kou recovered and did all this for the sake of Leann's approval. Kou was desperate for Volt to steer the ship away from the satellite, though Dominique led the heroes out as Sion accepted her dream of the Galeos splitting, before it collided with the satellite. Leann congratulated him on a nice, long vacation as soon as he gets home, and he murmured she knew how to use a man.

FlyingHome

Kou lifted by Goten as he can never ride the Nimbus on the way home

The next day, the heroes were escorted back to Dog Street as Goten carried him there since his heart was impure to ride the Nimbus. He then got so bored as there was no activity since Mikado's invasion. After Sion and Dominique accepted an invitation to visit Capsule Corp and repair the android, Kou grew irritable it was too expensive a gamble, but Ayame assured him their very prestigious. The process was successful.

Jet!

Kou dreaming of Leann hoping to date her, hence the songpic, Jet!

Finally, his shift started, then got a call from Leann that the target still needed to be watched over, even though the satellite was destroyed. He was free to take his vacation since a replacement was assigned, causing Kou to have a change of heart and still work as an undercover bouncer. As Fate was closing up for the night, he was summoned to the central plaza and was ordered to fight Leann, much to his dismay! He won over her and asked what the reason was; LUKIS was losing faith in him as he let the target loose and Mikado snowballed the incident. He still passed and was welcome to continue his assignment but never be personally involved. Kou asked Leann if they should catch up, but she turned him down. He then said goodbye to Goten who was nearly heartbroken on leaving him.

During the night of Sion's 20th birthday, Kou was surprised the bar isn't jumping; as Edge has a high crime rate, the festivities were down low. Kou gifted him a stuffed black panther, reminding him of Kaldea, as he wasn't sure. Sion picked out the Sapporo, the strongest alcoholic beverage in Boss' inventory, which later manifested his dark persona. He was consumed more as he desired to be the lone wolf of Dog Street, being the dominant male fighter! Starting to take all shifts for himself, much to Kou's dismay! He demanded to have another Sapporo till he was confronted by Volt which agitated him more. He was about to kill him as he failed to do last time, until Kou intervened and hit Dominique! He was startled on what he'd done and stormed out to an alley where his master was being mangled! He saved him only to experience a painful fission! Kou saw it all with Dominique and Ayame!

Soon after, Sion was banned from Fate by Boss as he suspected him to be the shadow making several murder cases. Then he came face to face with his dark double! Only to lose to him as he made a Dark Kamehameha Wave. As Volt and Kou ganged on him, even Sion felt the pain, and he was too stunned as he saw Dominique get carried away to Mikado! Wong then decided to train Sion on meditation, fighting his inner demons, and mastering the Kamehameha! He was successful on overcoming his doppelganger, then decided to have permanent residence at his old homestead, while still being employed at Fate.

A few years later, Kou was instructed by Leann to function as an undercover member of the neo-Yakuza. Then by the next day, they attacked the advanced bar! Wong and Echidna fought vigilantly, till they discovered Kou worked undercover. He, Volt and Sion went on foot after the members, then a certain hooded figure knocked out the Bouncers seamlessly!

Kou's mind was then reawakened, only to serve his new okubun. The trio combatted Ayame, Echidna and Leann though they were impressed by their prowess. They even made their own Trinity Rush, only to have Ayame's light ki be unleashed, despite being hindered by the mounting dark ki. Their okubun, who turned out to be Dauragon, trapped the women beneath the collapsing floor! Then Kou was enlisted to find Dominique at the Fate bar, and her old home, but Dominique already escaped to the Lookout! He was about to have his fingers removed till Chiaotzu intervened and removed the Bouncers' microchips controlling their minds! Kou had his legs crushed by the falling debris, and was rendered unconscious, even when they were escorted to the Lookout. By the time Dauragon was destroyed for good, he soon woke up. Goten became emotional over his weakened state then scorned by Leann, as she wanted him to be terminated from LUKIS. However, since it wasn't by his own will, he was allowed to stay. He then received word that Ayame lost her family due to the Yakuza's assaults, and he assured her she shall become a new Bouncer with her new family asap.

A few years later, he finally dated Leann, as Goten begged her to do! And still functioned as a Bouncer and agent to this day!
