Officer Kurtis Stryker is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. He made his debut in Mortal Kombat 3.
Stryker was introduced in Mortal Kombat 3 as a somewhat stout-looking Caucasian man sporting a very urban design with a white-blue shirt, combat boots, gun belt, black police pants, and a cap worn backwards. However, his appearance was altered in Armageddon into a more serious-looking and modernized policeman. Originally described as being a leader of the Special Riot Control division in the New York City Police Department, he employs modern weaponry such as explosives, firearms, tasers, and nightsticks in battle. Despite being an otherwise ordinary police officer, Stryker is incredibly resilient and adept at hand-to-hand combat, having defeated the likes of Ermac, Reptile, Mileena, and even Kintaro by himself. It is this knack for survival, as well as his fierce dedication to justice, that earns the attention of Raiden and convinces him to enlist Stryker in the defense of Earthrealm.
He is seen as the first person to run towards the pyramid in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. And he became one of the revenants working for Quan Chi.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Part II[]
Stryker was assigned as their tactician to the heroes in their secret base, and at times he'd speak in difficult jargon that'd puzzle them, even the young Aiko. He was mostly indifferent on seeing her again. One trimester ago, while he was still a cop, he was summoned by Raiden and joined their ranks. He's the one who suggested for the warriors to take a week's respite and rendezvous back, since according to the schematics, there was hardly any activity in Outworld the past week before the older Aiko and Kung Lao joined.
By the time Outworld began to merge with Earth, Stryker bore witness, even he watched Shao Kahn's new castle emerge! He was scoping the area from Kahn's extermination squads which decimated many cars, people, and buildings. He then heard a scuffle and followed it to the abandoned subway tunnels where he was ambushed by Kano! Thankfully, he wasn't accompanied by his Black Dragon associates, but he did put up a lethal fight! Until he was aided by the sudden appearance of Kabal! Stryker never wanted to use his militant weapons as they'd cause more harm than good, till he had his chance to fight Kano on the street! He was still vulnerable against his fatal knives and cannonball moves, but Kabal was able to finish him off by removing his respiratory mask, screech, and cause Kano's skeleton to be torn from his body, run, and shatter onto the pavement after tripping! Stryker was thankful of Kabal's help and when Kahn challenged the duo, he was earnest; however, Kabal stated they must seek allies first.
Kabal took Stryker thru the abandoned subway tunnels, to avoid detection from Kahn's extermination squads. He became irritable once he heard metallic clomps to what Kabal assumed were from robots. He led the charge and they wound up in the barren streets again, but he recognized the two robots, Cyrax and Sektor, belonging to the Lin Kuei; he encountered them several times as the team was chasing rips, even when he was attacked after he sliced open Sub-Zero's net he was trapped in. He was no match for Cyrax after he chased him into the Bank, so Kabal took over, even after the cyborg unloaded a few bombs! He was still patrolling the place when Cyrax fell with a sudden thud near the window overlooking Kahn's lair. He was also no match for Sektor, as was his bodyguard, till Smoke intervened. Aiko and Sub-Zero subdued him later, before he started to self-destruct! He reunited with them, Aiko, Nightwolf, and Kung Lao before the group was attacked by Shadow Priests and Tarkatans. He was vulnerable against the electrokinesis, courtesy to his metallic gear and bullet-proof vest! But Smoke was incapacitated and taken to Kahn's Lair. He, Sub-Zero and Kung Lao didn't hesitate to lead the salvage mission.
He assured an anxious cryomancer on saving Smoke, as he heard that Kahn may take prisoners and not execute them straightaway, like he did with Sonya and Kano during the second tournament, so he heard. He was then seen during Aiko's heart meld with Kung Lao in which he and several other Kombatants were killed then resurrected as revenants to serve Quan Chi causing massive killings and destruction, He was on high alert and the first to notice the scuffle of feet entering the hideout, though it only turned out to be Liu, Sonya, Jax and Kitana. For once he was thrilled to be reunited as he knew the team was finally together and ready to take on the Konquerer and reverse his deathly effects on the two realms.
He assisted the team in his T-Rex Animality, cleaning the extermination squads in half! He was one of the strongest warriors maintaining his transformation the longest and soon stormed inside Kahn's Fortress with the group. They were able to escape easily as soon as it began to collapse by the time Liu Kang destroyed Kahn in the Pit III.
Stryker just simply resumed his normal duties as a Riot Control Officer in the New York streets, while a certain mysterious warrior stayed within the deserted subway tunnels, waiting for every chance to redeem himself, like the night owl against crime.
Mortal Kombat: Vengeance[]
Stryker and Kabal were involved in a lethal scrimmage against Hsu Hao. The officer then reported Sonya in her Special Forces base of the incident as Kabal was resting at a New York hospital. He described the suspect to her as a man with an artificial heart, Kabal's hook swords and an encrusted marking of a red dragon on his arm. Sonya identified the enemy, and he wished her and Johnny luck on hunting down the traitor.
Stryker caught wind from Sonya as she called the New York hospital that the Red Dragons and the Deadly Alliance had been slain! Stryker announced Kabal's condition upgraded from critical to stable and was glad he'd have his hookswords back with Hsu Hao and Mavado's enhancements.
Final Kombat[]
He was reluctant in preparing for the Battle of Armageddon, but Kabal was able to convince him otherwise, despite having a girlfriend finally. Unlike his failed attempt he told only to Liu Kang, he found another. And he was hesitant on being dragged into another invasion since Kahn's wrath several years ago. Fortunately, Kabal and the Special Forces gave him the comfort and willingness he needed for the sake to defend all of existence. Stryker soon became enthusiastic to "Saddle up, lock and load."
Stryker rode the Netherwing to the southern crater and he pretty much fought in the background until he temporarily tased Quan Chi. By the time the Pyramid rose from underground, Stryker sucker punched Rain kickstarting the fatal ascension towards Blaze! It's most likely he was severely caught in the crossfire. Luckily, Cetrion's tears revived him and he still settled with his new girlfriend, although he may have retired from defending Earthrealm from otherworldly threats.
