The Lin Kuei Palace, also known as the Lin Kuei Temple, is located in the icy region of Arctika in Earthrealm. The arena was first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and has made recurring appearances in the franchise since.
Sub-Zero needed a remote base of operations for his newly reformed Lin Kuei clan. After a long search, he found this mysterious and ancient temple abandoned and frozen in the arctic wilderness and immediately claimed it as the new home of the Lin Kuei clan.
Ikran's Mortal Kombat Khronology[]
Simply known as the Lin Kuei base, the reformation and relocation of the Lin Kuei began after the Netherrealm War. After Hanzo now humanized made a peace offering with Kuai, he declared to his team they'd move from China to the Northern Pole for a fresh, frigid start. It couldn't be offered at a better time since Smoke managed to find the Dragon Medallion and gift it to him as the new Grandmaster. By the process began, Kuai wished for Raiden a safe journey since he just attained Elder God status. It soon became the hub of the Lin Kuei, Kuai and Smoke.
A year later, the base was fully constructed by devoted clan members. Kuai just enlisted his new apprentice, Frost, in a small tournament and she won. The throne room was the main chamber of operations, and several guardsmen and scouts were assigned, although they still needed to deal with the inclement weather, Ice Beasts, snow ninjas, and the Tengu clan. The base itself mostly had light-blue glacier walls.
Soon after the defeat of the Deadly Alliance, Kuai was alerted that Onaga had been resurrected and he took in the defector of the Netherrealm, Sareena, who told him of Bi-Han's fate.
Word soon was received by Bi-Han, four months after he'd been purified by his defeat by Ashrah. No longer corrupted as Noob Saibot, he began to search for the base, but wound up inside Delia's Temple. Taven was taken in by the trio of scouts and Smoke as a blizzard was picking up and was grateful for their generosity. A nearby monolith ignited in red which soon turned out to be Delia's own. It was pointed out that their ethernet wasn't advanced enough yet... As Taven found his mom's temple, he and a few Lin Kuei scouts escorted the elder Sub-Zero to the base's true location. He soon reunited with his long-lost brother, even though it was short-lived since he stole a portal generator opening a rip to the Shirai Ryu base.
After Armageddon came to pass, the Lin Kuei's top warriors escorted Bi and Sareena back to the base. He offered to train himself at Delia's abandoned temple and to cool off his anger too since he set aside his discrepancies over Hanzo. Kuai offered he and Sareena are always welcome. It was rumored that Kuai and Frost settled down, and even bore a future warrior there!
Trivia[]
- Unlike the games, the fanfics mentioned above had the Lin Kuei Palace as a separate location from Delia's Temple, contrary to Armageddon's Konquest as well.
