Luz Clawthorne, also known as the Luz Clawthorne Saga, is a family drama/fantasy adventure fanfiction series created by FanFiction.net user JP-Ryder, later joined by beta reader turned co-writer Buck Johnson. The series was first published on October 13, 2020 and began being uploaded to Archive of our Own on November 2.
The second season, or "book", began on November 9, 2021 and ended on May 10, 2024, having numerous interlude and sidetrack chapters focusing on other characters.
Several spinoffs have emerged due to the number of crossover and original characters included in the series under the LC Presents banner of the greater Luz Clawthorne Universe. The first, Helluva Dad, premiered on June 18, 2023. The second, Brimstones and Broomsticks, followed a month after Book 2's conclusion on June 1, 2024. An alternate future story titled Luz Clawthorne 2024 came about on August 24, 2024.
On August 31, 2024, a feature-length one-shot titled "The Invasion!" came out.
The series' third book began on Halloween 2024. Another spinoff known as The Adventures of L.O.W.T.H., is scheduled to come out in 2025 as will another Blockbuster special, "The Gates of Hell".
The series itself can be found here, and in full here.
Premise[]
The series centers on the titular Luz Clawthorne (born Luz Noceda), a 14-year old Dominican-American girl who was raised by her adoptive mother Eda/"The Owl Lady", and her older demon brother King after her birth mother Camila died in a car crash when she was a baby. Having grown up in the Boiling Isles archipelago in the Demon Realm, a magical world parallel to Earth/the Human Realm, Luz was taught to rebel against the oppressive government known as the Coven System and causes trouble everywhere she goes.
The first season follows Luz when one of her stunts lands her in trouble at her school, which forces her to clean up her act and become a better person. At the same time, she must learn to handle her newfound affections for her tutor/rival, Amity Blight.
The second book, picking up immediately after the first, follows the Clawthornes attempting to oppose Emperor Belos as he prepares for the "Day of Unity", an event which he plans to force Luz into helping him with due to her apparent 'cambion' form, a result of her body evolving from living in the Isles. Meanwhile as the Clawthornes try to make a new portal to the Human Realm, Amity must adjust to her own abilities growing more powerful for unknown reasons, all while several new enemies antagonize the Isles.
The third book begins two months after the events of the previous season; in that interval, Luz and Gus have been adjusting to life in Gravity Falls with their families. Although they reunite with the rest of their friends who're staying in town for the foreseeable future, fate begins to lure their remaining adversaries back as well, setting up the fight of their lives.

Trivia[]
- In an incredibly ridiculous coincidence, prior to Chapter 3's permanent title change, the first letters of Chapters 2 to 12's titles spelled out "Wicked Witch".
- The Adventures of LOWTH was going to begin when Book 3 did, but was delayed.
