Mantis is a fictional character primarily appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character has been depicted as a member of the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, as the bride of Kang the Conqueror, and as the mother of Sequoia.
The character was ranked 99th in Comics Buyer's Guide's "100 Sexiest Women in Comics" list. Pom Klementieff portrays the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).
Mantis is the secondary tetartagonist of Brendam Vol. 2 and Ego Livingston's meek assistant. After Ego's death, she reforms and becomes one with the Guardians of Brendam.
She didn't make an official appearance in To Be Married and Loved, as Ikran had no idea that she was part of the team till after the fact. In Worriment of the Future, she did make an appearance in the Milano discussing with Rick, Tinsel, and the Guardians of their future. She sensed uncertainty and worry as she remembered they were trapped in a black hole and traveled over five centuries into the future when Peter was upset on finding Gamora! They did, and thanks to her pathokinesis, she was able to restore Gamora's lost memories and travel with the group again! She did have feelings with Drax and she wishes to settle down with him if they should make a permanent home in Port Town. Eventually, everyone was in high spirits as long as they can learn from their past mistakes for a more brighter future.
