Master Hand is one of the chief dark powers in the Nintendo universe, twin to Crazy Hand and host to the Master Swarm. It's been rumred he has also created the Fighting Polygon Team and the Wire Frames to give the advancing challenger obstacles before facing it.
Daemon Rising with a...SMASH![]
Master Hand has made an appearance at Peach's Castle after the Mario Bros defeated Bowser. After Samus' arrival, he appeared abruptly to warn the Smashers that something is afoot, a mysterious threat from the super virus, Daemon, who's occupation is to infect the Net, including the Smash System, and hear the Word. He ordered the quartet, counting Peach, to recruit all capable fighters to stand up to the new onslaught.
It was later discovered that Master Hand is the Guardian of the Smash System, as he has the abilities on creating Portals, mending Tears, and other stuff; he even stated he too merged with a Key Tool to have more capabilities since he was a single hand and graduated the Academy with flying colors! It's usually not shown, but he does happen to have a gold Guardian icon at the center of his palm!
Once all the fighters were gathered, the infection took 92% of the Net! He lost all hope on fighting the super virus. But against his orders, Falco, and soon their comrades encouraged them to keep fighting, and head to Mainframe where the battle should take place. Master Hand was idol until he met up with Samus and Mewtwo at his turf, Final Destination!
He was a little appalled for not following orders, but he had a solution on using a Trophy Stand to turn Daemon into a Trophy, thus neutralizing her infection! Unfortunately, the infection was sicced onto him, and Samus used it to turn him to a Trophy! After the final battle, Master Hand was spared! Hexadecimal was able to heal the entire Net while also defragmenting herself!

- Master Hand was chosen as one of Ikran's 12 Favorite Villains in Video Games. He was actually the Guardian of the Smash System using the concepts in ReBoot.
