Meowth (ニャース, Nyaasu) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I, a Dark-type introduced in Generation VII, and a Steel-type introduced in Generation VIII. Kantonian Meowth also has a Gigantamax form known as Gigantamax Meowth.

Meowth was one of the first Pokemon Link met in the Kokiri Forest. He was a vital and versatile member of the team when they reversed the Deku Tree's curse. Meowth, along with Pikachu, wandered away to the ranch they found! After Link was successful on clearing out the Dodongo's Cavern, the 2 shown him the ranch where the feline hang out often.

There were 2 Meowths in Akari's team; 1 evolved into a Persian while the latter remained as Mewtwo's clone. The Meowth was involved with the other Normal-Types as Mainframe was invaded by the Crimson Binome. Since Normal Types were known to be wild cards, Akari strategized on using them! He was quick and cunning against the pirates, even when Samus apprehended them. He also functioned as a summon throwing coins during the Net War.
