This was an epic created by TheIkranRider, taking place a year after her last story, Shinnok's Uprising. Deadly Alliance was like entering unfamiliar territory, as she never experienced the game personally like she did with the other installments. MK4 shunned her away, and she never cared of the other 3D installments, until she discovered the reboot and soon Shaolin Monks. Sure, it's about the demonic duo consisting of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, but it meant so much more to her as Kung Lao's personal salvage mission on avenging his Shaolin brother, Liu Kang, and saving the realms once more. Aside from Shaolin Monks, Part II, this was a story that made the underappreciated Kombatant the lead!

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Prologue)

It's been a whole year since the battle with Shinnok, and the Wu Shi Academy stood as strong as ever! The prideful Chinese establishment just began to awaken with the dawn as the monks began their usual tasks, even their most prestigious, Liu Kang. Nightwolf and Kiba emerged from their new technical den and admired the birds chirping and the sun rising. They were encountered by their old friend, Kung Lao, who couldn't wait to best his rival, Liu, in a fight. The shaman encouraged him to do so, though his pet wasn't so thrilled, as he sniffed his feet and let out a low growl when Lao left. He Teleported away, and Kiba was immediately on the hunt!

At the Wu Shi Arena, Liu Kang was practicing his katas before he should meet his rival. Kung Lao visited him there, though he stood there without a single remark or challenge. He remained unfazed, as did Liu, perhaps the monk knew he was here and didn't want to pause his training... Still Lao approached him steadily until his form changed and grew, towering over him! Knowing it couldn't possibly be his Shaolin brother, Liu Kang turned and immediately set sights on his old nemesis, the shapeshifter Shang Tsung!! Liu gave him all he had and was advancing over him! That was until he noticed another demon sorcerer, Quan Chi, perform a sneak attack on his defenseless back! Liu went down and was injured, then Shang put him in a stranglehold! Liu was losing oxygen and was unable to break free, until Shang snapped his neck to the left before Liu's body went limp and fell to the ring!!

Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance - Intro

Liu Kang is dead....

Shang was about to steal his soul like he did with countless others, even to his brother, Chan! That was until Liu's soul immediately skyrocketed thru the gathering clouds!! He suspected Raiden was at it, and he sent his repertoire after it! Fortunately, he got electrocuted and yelled at Quan Chi to face the Thunder God!

Inside an Oriental kitchen, Aiko, Kung Jin, and his mom were starting a hearty breakfast. Jin often wakes up early so he'd start elementary school while his uncle would begin training. Lao was actually late as he overslept which was a habit that snuck on him even when he claimed he broke it! He took some scuffles of fried eggs when the group noticed the sporadic, violent lightning strikes startling the cardiokinetic and tween! His mom never saw the likes of such a storm, yet Lao suspected it could be Raiden... He urged Aiko to come along, though she was reluctant still as the astraphobic. He assured the bolts kept on licking the vicinity of the Arena and won't strike them.

They followed the trail, but Kiba was the first to attack the duo, specifically Quan, while Nightwolf commandeered to fuse with the wolf! Raiden descended and both Kombatants wound up before unleashing their electricity from Raiden's hands and the Indian's battle axe! The enemies dissipated, leaving Liu's lifeless body... Everyone was in mourning excepting the electrokinetic. He informed the heroes he managed to encase Liu's soul in a golden dragon head he created. He was inspired by Shinnok and his Amulet; as an Elder God, he was prepared in case the unthinkable should happen to his Champion. He decided to strip away his powers as such, since they never cared for Earthrealm, much to their dismay. He assured that Liu's safe inside the relic which seemed roomy, and the orb windows allowed him to see his comrades. They were shocked Liu can hear them too! With his plan in motion, Raiden declared the heroes must regroup throughout Earth and Edenia...

And must stop the Deadly Alliance...

Con't I: The Shaolin Guest and Host[]

Mortal Kombat Vengeance (Con't I)

The Monks volunteered to carry Liu's lifeless body onto a stretcher. His grandpa suggested to erect a tomb specially made for him just like the Great Kung Lao's, and Raiden assured it'll be hidden from enemies. Kai pleaded for Lao and his friends to succeed on avenging his partner, in which he promised. Lao then warned Jin's mom in Mandarin via phone that she mustn't let her son know on Liu's death, unless if they should fail and won't return within a week; luckily Jin just attended school. He, Aiko, and Nightwolf made last-minute preparations for the journey, including her beet supplements suggested by Jin's mom, while the shaman's equipment was shot upon Raiden's lightning storm and was only able to pick up surveillance before then. They reunited with Raiden within the Arena, and he conjured a portal leading to the rendezvous point, Shang Tsung's Island. Lao and Liu remembered of the mystical portal as Shang declared the first tournament, while the former was a stowaway upon the Nethership.

This was a region within the Lost Sea, an island between both Earthrealm and Outworld. Raiden helped set up camp and encouraged Lao to practice his training, with his body sharing Liu's spirit. Lao was nervous on the procedure, though Raiden still broke down every step of the process, especially when Liu's aura left the amulet and entered thru, causing a lot of discomfort, including out-of-body sensations. The retired Monk was unconscious, and Raiden ordered the warriors to stay back. Momentarily, Lao's body became active with their voices merged and combining their elemental abilities! After a while, he commandeered Liu to return to the amulet, as staying in for too long would damage Lao's vessel and have him wander in the void eternally. Lao soon came to, though he had some difficulties dealing with the aftereffects.

Con't II: Repressed Memories[]

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't II)

A few nights later, Lao decided to have a deep meditation session to ease his pains with Liu's possession. He began to dose off, and he wound up in a colorless landscape filled with floating islands and distant cliffs. Thankfully, Liu's spirit was still with him in the dragon head, and he volunteered to take a look. He recognized the place as their own subconscious; figuring since they merged minds upon their unfortunate experiences. He observed at the cliff there was the same training ground the rows of monks were in learning the Mantis technique! Lao was intrigued and he hadn't mastered it in so long! Liu walked him thru each technique, with some history thrown in, and Lao struggled to master them. Eventually, a path formed onto the precipice, and Liu continued with the Shaolin Fist (Lao's specialty) as well as other Kung Fu moves, followed by some Broadsword maneuvers. Lao stated he hadn't used one since his early teen years in which he accomplished with ease. As soon as he did, albeit rustier than the blade, the heroes heard muffled, vehement voices rising and falling in decibels.

Kung Lao came to, and it was Raiden who attempted to awaken him. He was lucky he didn't have to use electroshock onto him. The God stated that he observed Quan Chi escaping the Netherrealm and into Outworld, as did two demons, Moloch and Drahmin. Aiko wondered if it was the same Moloch she knew as a warlord of sorts... Raiden pitied the Saurians as they can be in trouble by the beastly pair. Quan and Shang took the Nethership into Earthrealm, and Lao wondered if the latter was desperate to dominate Outworld without Kahn in another tournament. Raiden said it wasn't the case, as he desired to collect souls to revive a mummified army and the Dragon King, Onaga; his Palace was his main base of operations, and Raiden needed to relinquish his status afterwards. He also assigned Fujin to gather other Kombatants, then a portal opened revealing to be Sonya and Johnny! Raiden admired Aiko's suggestion on using Kiba to detect if the heroes were legit. Nightwolf wished he'd have his equipment ready to track the rips with Shang at large. The agents, mostly Sonya, recapped Hsu Hao's treachery as she lost signals from the Outer World Investigation Agency.

At the Special Forces base, she and Johnny were preoccupied with Stryker's call, saying he and Kabal were in a scrimmage against a man with an artificial heart and a red encrusted dragon on his arm! Stryker broke the news from a New York hospital while Kabal was in critical condition after having his hook swords stolen. The pair were on the case and landed within the vicinity, at the same streets where Kahn's Fortress was raised. Hsu ambushed the group and ogled Sonya on not seeing her in a while; he only allied himself with the squad to help eradicate his bitter rival, the Black Dragons, completely, letting his Red Dragons reign supreme! Johnny got into the fray, though Hsu's heart empowered him so much and fired lethal lasers onto him! Johnny put up a fight and nearly evaded Hsu's gust clap, when Fujin intervened and tossed Hsu via funnel into a nearby dumpster! He mocked Hsu needed more practice, and Sonya's mission changed its trajectory since Shang and Quan returned to assassinate Liu! His spirit was spared by Raiden and Fujin was assigned to rendezvous the Kombatants to Shang's Island. He conjured the portal, and the duo went thru! Aiko was shocked they were engaged, as was Jax with his girlfriend, Vera, though Sonya lost contact with him...

Raiden still stood by while Fujin continued his mission and Lao sparred with Liu's ghost.

Con't III: Embarking to Outworld...Again[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Con't_III)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't III)

Fujin stopped by Hanzo's Osaka base of the reformed Shirai Ryu. Several of the ninjas noticed some baby cries and followed the source to a basket enclosed with an infant and a note written in exotic symbols. They found it on the doorstep and brought the bundle in. They announced their unexpected gift to the Grandmaster, and even he was displeased. He first took out the pamphlet and volunteered for one of his men to read it since it was in Thai symbols. He translated,

"To my most trusted friend, Hanzo,

Please watch over my lonesome son. I cannot leave him within the care of the Thai nor the Chinese nurseries, as one is primitive while the others are militaristic! I'm on my way to chase after the bastard who blinded me, and thus I needed someone else to write this request, perhaps...my last. Please take care of the child while I'm away. Chances are, I may not return.

I have but one goal: to slay the sorcerer who blinded me.

You are my only salvation, Hanzo Hasashi. For his sake and mine, look after Takeda Takahashi!

Regards,

Kenshi."

Hanzo was surprised that his distant friend wrote to him all the way from the Special Forces. At first, he was met by a man named Song who led him to the burial ground of his ancestors. When he made contact with a sacred blade, it went awry! Shang consumed their souls and blinded Kenshi, then left him to die. However, he was lucky as the sword spoke to him and allowed him to wield it telekinetically. Kenshi then joined the Special Forces as they were determined to put an end to the Red Dragon clan which killed Kenshi's wife. Hanzo then looked at the baby who calmed down, and his complexion reminded the former wraith of his doomed son, Satoshi, who always went by his pet name, Jubei. Fujin arrived and he alerted the tragic news; he gave Hanzo a choice to either get rid of Quan or stay and care for the child. After a few moments, his decision was set in stone.

Sub-Zero and Frost MKDA

At Arctika, a small tournament was being held within the new Lin Kuei headquarters. Frost was the winner as she plowed thru the newer interns. Smoke and Kuai were immensely impressed, before the ninjas heard a sharp gale. Fujin messaged them of Liu Kang's fate and the return of the Deadly Alliance after five centuries. Kuai and Smoke took on the startling news and to their surprise, Frost volunteered to prove herself as Kuai's apprentice! He was reluctant, as he never wanted to send in a rookie, nor risk the life of his surrogate brother, as if losing Liu Kang partially wasn't bad enough! He also heard Hanzo was going after the demonic duo, fearing he may lose himself to his wrathful persona if triggered. Kuai eventually chosen Frost, since Smoke stated that two cryomancers may confuse their enemies.

Fujin brought the elementals to Japan and met up with Hanzo, who warned Kuai of the possibility of losing himself to his deep rage with Quan Chi. The quartet rendezvoused to Shang Tsung's Island, where Kung Lao continued to spar against Nightwolf with their own power boosts, and Sonya was teaching Aiko some pointers, even a spin kick as her other leg got caught. The spectators were alarmed on the sudden squall, but Raiden assured it was his brother with the remaining Earthrealm warriors. After an hour introducing themselves, even to Frost, while making last-minute preparations, the group was finally ready to step into Outworld, or more specifically to the Celestial Portal. Raiden warned he still holds no power there, so after they cross the Portal, they'd be left with their own devices. Johnny stated he was surprised that Shang never used the creepy ship from the first tournament; Raiden replied that he only would use it to transfer souls to revive the Dragon King as well as his mummified army. So, they needed to take the secret gateway in which only deities and sorcerers know, and the God brothers led them to the foreboding realm.

Con't IV: Reconnections[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Con't_IV)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't IV)

The octet arrived within the eerie arena beneath a full moon and the Celestial Portal. They also spotted the pair of floating heads in what looked to be Asian sages; to Hanzo, Kuai, and Lao they didn't recognize. Raiden warned that in order to breach another realm, in this case Outworld, they must endure a trial dealing with his/her greatest enemy. Johnny murmured that taking the Nethership would've been more comfortable and was surprised the Deadly Alliance took such measures. The Thunder God assured Lao the sacred, ancient waystation wasn't only secretive but protected. Before he should take the call to arms, Lao offered to step up to the plate. As he entered the center of the stage, the guardians stopped and conjured someone via his own Teleport thru the floor! To his shock, Lao and Aiko recognized the intruder as Lao's own Revenant self!

He fought him with every trick Lao knew, though they appeared to be at a standoff; neither warrior was backing down, until Liu Kang offered to borrow Lao's vessel by merging souls! Liu exited the dragon amulet and entered Lao's body after being knocked down by his doppelganger. However, he wasn't ready for the monk's fiery ferocity! In conjunction with his aero moves, Liu outflanked Lao's Revenant, even causing hefty damage via his Bicycle Kick and conjuring his pyrokinesis into such high degrees to the point on scorching the undead's doomed vessel prone to Liu's elemental abilities! Lao struck him down by multiple blows from his hat, before Liu finished him with one fell swoop which cut open the Revenant and sending a sliver of flame which combusted and reducing his body to a pile of ash! Johnny was thrilled at the stunt, as was Hanzo since he'd done this numerous times!

Raiden confirmed the way to Outworld was clear, and he reminded the warriors that he and Fujin are powerless there. He also warned that they must stick together and never let Shang dissuade them. The Gods wished them luck before they departed.

They landed gradually within the opaque forest in Outworld, in which after a while, Liu Kang stated to Kung Lao it was the Living Forest, only there was very little life, especially from the plants and were no enemies. Lao and Nightwolf led the group, until Sonya stubbed her foot upon a metallic capsule. Upon closer examination, she identified the goldenrod coating belonging to Cyrax! The Shaolin and shaman noticed an opaque figure blend in the distant woods, and the former gave chase! He caught up, even after he Teleported beneath the forest floor, till he was about a few feet away! He was about to slice him with his hat, till the stranger implored him to stop and he's on Lao's side! He wasn't buying it, until he backpedaled and noticed Jax!

Even Sonya made a reunion with the stranded OIA agent; he recapped he'd been lost in Outworld over the last few days and can't contact the Special Forces nor Cyrax. Sonya confirmed the same as she lost signals with her compatriots, believing the Red Dragon to be responsible. She promised they'd find Cyrax and Kenshi eventually, although Lao persuaded that they must leave the empty forest first. He noticed Aiko hesitating, as she heard a ruffle behind her, though there was nothing. The pair didn't notice the pair of bright turquoise eyes peeking out from the darkness...

The heroes arrived at the Edenian Palace, the location that Liu identified as they came to the clearing atop a steep hill! Asgaarth was perched within an open window and alerted her of the oncoming Earthrealmers! She implored him to let her guards know and allow them entry. Everyone reunited with the monarchs, including Kitana and Jade, though Sheeva was slightly excited and presumed something was amiss... The Edenians wondered the same and Sonya offered the heroes to leave Kung Lao and Aiko be, they offered earlier to break the tragic news to Kitana of Liu's fate. Lao and Aiko bowed before the Queen and the former Champion slowly explained, hardly finding the words. It was thanks to Liu's soul in the dragon head that stated he died; however, his soul was still intact. As long as Lao was his retainer, he'll be safe. Lao alerted the Deadly Alliance, the return of Shang and Quan, and their objective on resurrecting the Dragon King and his undead army. Sindel was shocked with the news, not only having the sorcerers escape.

She mentioned to Lao that Onaga preceded his rule in Outworld before Kahn became ruler. In fact, Kahn used to be Onaga's own advisor, way back in 8450 BC according to Earth's timetable. However, Kahn was outraged working under Onaga and managed to poison him! His generals overturned him and his mummified army, allowing Kahn as the new Emperor as well as beginning his conquest of other realms. The Elder Gods then established the Mortal Kombat tournament, under 10 straight victories to allow invasion, and she lost Jerrod and herself too... Lao apologized opening past wounds, but time was of the essence. Sindel urged Kitana and Jade to assist the heroes while Sheeva holds the fort. Lao wondered how Goro would intervene, but it's likely he'd either refuse or side with his former wingman. Kitana and Jade saluted with the Edenian motto,

"Edenia is an idyllic paradise, where we are free from tyranny,"

before Lao and Aiko followed, and Sindel wished them luck to the brave, noble warriors.

Con't V: Bo' Rai Cho[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Con't_V)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't V)

Everyone was gearing up the next morning, and Sonya suggested to wear some Cobalt armor since they'd be dealing with Quan Chi. The Edenians were prepared as they forged several Ottomans since the Netherrealm War. Aiko was intrigued her battle armor can transform in 3 distinctive shades (crimson, turquoise and lime) as Nightwolf programmed all her suits; it was coincidental that she can wear Cobalt armor on the blue set! Jax, however, refused to wear any as his bionic arms and bare chest was all he needed, and if worst should come to worst, he'd always use the heavy artillery with the grenade belt. He also doubted where the hell the team was going, and Kung Lao asked Nightwolf to sense immense darkness like he did with Shao Kahn's Tower a few years ago. He did, and he sensed the Deadly Allaince should be in the northwest. Much to Jade's dismay, she mentioned it was Tarkatan territory, over the Wastelands, and just over the Cobalt Mines of Shokan. They soon embarked on their journey.

AikoConceptart

Aiko's colored armor (Cobalt/turquoise (center))

There were some interfering Onis, even some with daggers, and Kuai was impressed on Kung Lao utilizing Mantis martial arts! Aiko was always put on healing duties, Kitana defended while Jade was offensive, Jax and Johnny covered Sonya for the most part, and later on Frost suggested to take the tree lines instead of traversing thru the open plains. Kitana shared with Sonya's opinion on going thru open territory since they wouldn't be caught off guard and the journey would be easier. The cryomancer eventually eased up, and Aiko had the same sensation as last nite on someone following her. Lao didn't want to be separated from the team, and they must focus on heading toward the enemies' stronghold. The couple soon noticed a dark figure stumble to the ground, and to his shock, he was none other than his former mentor, Bo' Rai Cho! Just to wake him up, he gave a slight kick, only to be caught by his ferocity! He kicked away, and Bo wasn't thrilled!

In all his drunkenness, Bo' challenged his student to a brawl! Just to knock some sense into him, he took him on! Bo's brutality and hefty body was too much for the warrior even though he was agile evading Bo's vile bodily moves! Aiko pitched in with her cardiokinesis expanding his heart to the point of exploding the organ! She drained some of the bum's energy onto Lao's until he implored her to stop! Bo' was more coherent and alert, but Lao was ashamed on how he fell from grace, especially when he wasn't around during their bleak moments after the first tournament. Bo claimed ever since Liu Kang became Champion, his services were no longer needed; in which Lao countered he was banned from the Academy on account of his abusive, inebriated habits!! The group arrived, after Lao left an upward twirl kick causing Bo to fall and cause an aftershock!

Everyone understood Lao's forgotten past, since he and Liu forgotten to mention to Aiko about Bo's fall due to the same reason why Raiden never brought up Shinnok destroying the world, just old shame. She just blurted out how much of a screwup he truly was, reminding her of the harasser back in NJ after she went back from the past and met Lao. He didn't confirm it, but his comrades left a humbled Bo behind.

Hours later, they set up camp next to a shining shrine, the same ones the former monks found throughout Outworld. Everyone kept assuring Lao mostly he shouldn't feel remorseful over Bo Rai Cho's actions. Kuai eventually suggested along with Hanzo to get some shut eye and a little meditation won't hurt. Lao and Aiko were the last ones awake before his eyes and head were heavy enough....

Con't VI: Moloch & Drahmin[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Con't_VI)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't VI)

Soon, the heroes arrived inside a mausoleum, a colossal pyramid in which there was a gigantic duplication of Shinnok's Amulet in the rear wall and series of sarcophaguses. According to the ancient Edenian engravings, Kitana deciphered those were the loyal warriors belonging to Onaga's undead army. Jade stuttered at the thought and Kung Lao, Hanzo, Kuai and Jax got to work wrecking them in order to prevent them from arising once more. The nimbler Kombatants noticed swarms of flies and swept them away temporarily. Aiko was shocked on where they all came from and sensed the same pair of illuminating turquoise eyes that were following the team. She caught a glimmer of metal and warned Lao who tossed his hat toward the oncoming threat. The beast was finally unveiled and ripped off his eyepatch revealing three golden eyes. Hanzo warned it was the beastly Oni, Moloch! Soon after a large swarm stunned the team, and in walked Drahmin, another enemy Scorpion knew! He challenged the pair and Aiko queried on who can help; in came Jax and he clashed against Moloch while Drahmin was distracted by Hanzo! Due to his experience, and the fact they "aren't in Kansas anymore," the demons lost. Lao stormed in and strangled Drahmin demanding him on the whereabouts and assistance against the Deadly Alliance. Drahmin refused to help while he spoke for his incapacitated partner. Liu Kang told Lao to let him go, and he was about to tear off his mask only to have Hanzo warn that it was the Face of Kun-Lo; without it, Drahmin wouldn't be stable and focused and fight as a maniacal kombatant. Drahmin soon teleported behind Lao and warped away with Moloch, before he made another mark on them! With all the inanimate caskets cleared out, Sonya wondered of Cyrax, to whom Drahmin brought up. Nightwolf still sensed the northwestern destination after Hanzo mentioned the demons must've left for Moloch's Lair which was a subterranean location. Lao calmed and he was ready, after Jade was surprised that they never encountered much of the Tarkatans and their next destination would be the dangerous Sarna Ruins, contrary thru the Wastelands and over the Blood Sea.

Con't VII: Drums in the Desert[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Con't_VII)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't VII)

As the heroes stepped out of the shady Lost Tomb, they were greeted by the intense heat, humidity, and glaring sunlight; they'd entered into the arid Sarna Ruins. Jade warned there'd be a stray tornado or two, even unexpected sandstorms. She was on the money as the Kombatants became weary from the tiring journey, even from deja vu thru the endless landscape. Luckily, the cryomancers were prepared providing the guys with hydrating drinks, even Kung Lao, with his hat, and Kitana intervened with their fans. Soon enough the loose sand blinded their visions, until they spotted a dust devil despite the patchy sky. Lao stormed toward it and Teleported beneath before he unleashed his Spin Time Brutality! Through Fujin's vigorous training from last summer before Shinnok's invasion, he conjured a cerulean whirlwind as he sliced up the funnel! Nightwolf assisted from outside, using his shamanistic abilities on clearing any debris. Lao's funnel was successful as it expanded, made the cyclone shrink and soon his burst! Unfortunately, Kitana was unable to catch the falling warrior with her sonokinesis, till he was spared by an invisible force! The man wearing the blindfold figured Lao was foolish decimating an act of nature. Sonya, Jax, and Johnny were ecstatic to see their associate, Kenshi!

He brought the heroes up to date, including his quest in destroying Shang Tsung whom resulted in his blindness. He was able to find his psychokinetic sword from his ancestral burial, although he felt sorry of Liu Kang's fate since he wasn't able to compete in the tournaments. He was actually on his way to find the rumored airship, the Dragonfly, a fast method of transport thru Outworld. As the conversation picked up, Aiko's ears perked up as she made out some distant booms; they turned out to be tribal drums, according to Nightwolf's knowledge, but couldn't convey their message. She became entranced and followed the enticing drums...

Xingu Indians-Makeba
Male Native warrior

Konga koncept

Xingu Indians-Makeba 2

The group chased after her to the Makeba village, and Jade and Kitana warned it's the cliff village run by Konga. During a battle the tribesmen would beat and in the event of a draw, the chieftain would challenge them. Aiko became aroused by him and the drums, to the point on her joining the assembly much to Lao's disdain! Kenshi volunteered to confront the overlord, and thanks to his agility and psychokinesis won over him! Even stabbing him in the back during a stranglehold!! Kenshi brought Aiko out of his thrall as the tribe chased him toward the hijacked airship! The Dragonfly emerged, and he encouraged the heroes to board it telepathically! Kung Lao retrieved his mate before the ship flew away!

The team couldn't thank Kenshi enough, and Sonya and Jax were desperate to find their missing associate, Cyrax. Kenshi encouraged Lao to stick to Aiko's side empowering her mind and heart. He told the blind warrior her mind was defective since birth, in which he'd pitied. Aiko rested for a while with Lao by her side as they flew to their next destination toward the Alliance's dark auras.

Con't VIII: Stragglers[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Con't_VIII)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't VIII)

Kuai and Frost continued to spar each other on the main deck, while Lao stayed by Aiko's sleepy side, and Jax still piloted the ship. At times, Nightwolf, Liu and Kenshi struck up a conversation or two to keep his motivations up, until the Special Forces agents spotted a golden glimmer. Sonya believed it was the same one they saw back in the Living Forest and belonging to Cyrax! The vessel, at 500 meters above ground, followed him into a dormant volcano! Johnny thought it was insane of him to enter thru such a volatile environment. The aircraft landed, and Kenshi confirmed it was dangerous via his arm and his sharpened senses upon his blindness. Kiba sniffed the arm console and smelt the air following Cyrax's scent which led the team toward its maul! The cryomancers and the Special Forces took on the scout, minus Kenshi. Even Liu's spirit volunteered to be of some use. Lao let him roam freely.

The agents stopped short upon exposure to the harsh climate, but the elementals pushed forward! Kuai and Frost followed the icy trails to the island beside Cyrax and the mysterious bat who turned out to be a lady vampire of sorts! As the bot leapt into the magma, Frost grew startled while Kuai was willing to follow him! Despite the past reverie on suffering thru the heat, he still went after him and warned Frost to leave if the lava was too much! She eventually did, though both guys were able to break the surface as soon as Cyrax found a shiny orb! Nitara demanded to have it, as it was the key on bounding her realm to Outworld! She shattered the sphere and conjured a portal for Cyrax to escape to Earthrealm, and leave Kuai for dead! Luckily, Hanzo came to his rescue via his signature rope and pulled taut away from the magma pits! Liu volunteered to reduce his pyrexia by entering his body which worked! The team headed back only to find their comrades under assault by a couple Outworld nomads! Aiko was spared by a Kombatant with long arm blades! Surprisingly, it was Baraka!!

Before Aiko and Lao had the chance to protest, he explained he came from the same dystopian future as she did albeit more recently! He also wasn't sure how nor why he wound up so suddenly, but he knew the predicament once he spotted the younger warrior; he knew Aiko well, as he was a trainer and close ally of hers, even Sindel. His time period was ruled by Kitana Kahn, the successor over Shao Kahn upon his defeat. Baraka became a crucial ally to her along with uniting the Shokan and Tarkatans, and he deeply regretted his past assaults including the devastation of the Academy. He confessed he never served Kahn by choice, in order to preserve his race much like Reptile. They were close friends, and as soon as Baraka followed the heroes, he grew anxious on stopping the Deadly Alliance on resurrecting Onaga, in which he believed he may use the Saurian's vessel! Jade and her cohorts were aggressive to him and his people, till he was spared. Kenshi read his mind and he was speaking the truth! Baraka gifted Aiko a red staff named the Kwon Do, a weapon given to her by Queen Sindel in his time! He decided to tag along with the team since their so-called army from Edenia won't have time to stop their adversaries, so they were left with their own devices...

Con't IX: The Secret Whirlwind Kick[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Con't_IX)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't IX)

Kung Lao was discussing with Liu's spirit onboard the Dragonfly en route to the Fortress. With Baraka tagging along, everyone was wary on his possible ulterior motives. The Shaolin Champion believed that ever since he won the first tournament, Bo had no purpose, thus his fall from grace and ban from the Academy. He also theorized that if Bo would've won, the title would automatically be in favor to Kahn, though Lao never believed it... What good was a disciple without his student. Then, his usual voice echoed after Lao figured his best trainers were the God brothers, though Bo' boasted they had no experience compared to his! Everyone was startled of the stowaway, but Baraka was more wrathful! He lunged at him in which Bo blocked effortlessly and matching his own strength! Liu pleaded to let him go, and Bo' stated he can't trust the Tarkatan due to their treachery and bloodshed over the Academy! Out of all the Kombatants, the only one who believed the time traveler was Aiko! Moreso, Liu recapped his death to his sensei which made him sober up. Bo' ordered for Lao, Aiko and Nightwolf for training, saying that the retainer would need more work than anyone.

Lao was his first student, as Bo was determined to teach him the secret Whirlwind Kick, a technique just as powerful as Liu's lethal Flying/Bicycle maneuvers. He made a few attempts, though it was tricky to keep his balance and flexibility intact. He then remembered a sparring session with Liu at the Academy, though he lost, and Liu lectured the training he required was mental instead of physical, that he must surpass his limitations by acknowledging them. Bo' was intrigued and admired his knowledge. He advised him to be prepared to land, and he should use his Hat to assist him conjuring the vortex. So, he passed over his training to Aiko.

Baraka admired her during his distant future, as she was able to best him and Bo in the Wu Shi tournament. Bo' spat out disregarding that! And so, he honed her skills on the three different fighting styles one must master; her cardiokinesis, melee fighting with the Bo staff, and open hand kombat including the Shaolin Fist which were specialized by the White Lotus! He mentioned she must excel in open hand, even if her weapon shall be knocked away by an enemy; although her club was a good backup, it wasn't what Bo desired. Lastly, was training Nightwolf on utilizing a shamanistic ability draining souls from the user!

Bo stated he was desperate to find another student of his, Li Mei, the Outworlder female martial artist; Kenshi came to the conclusion she's from the primitive village of Sun Do, to which Bo' was intrigued of the scout's knowledge. He was too drunk before when he found out that she and her people were captured by the Deadly Alliance, believing they'd be used as sacrifices to reanimate Onaga and his undead army.

Until the sessions abruptly ended when the Dragonfly violently shook and tilted the main deck as it took a nosedive! Lao managed to use all his strength to crawl closer to the team and holler for them to hold onto him so he can Teleport them to safety! Luckily, as several bodies surrounded him as they obscured the bright sky, Lao vanished within a flash of light! The problem was, he'd no idea where he was going as he crashed to the ground before the aircraft combusted and blasted into many pieces!

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Con't X)

In a desolate location in Outworld, the Deadly Alliance took the Sun Do villagers hostage, enslaved to erect the upcoming Palace. Quan Chi possessed a lethal Cat O' Nine Tails, and Shang was escorting their unfortunate souls to the tombs of Onaga's undead army. He established everything, including keeping the Onis satisfied in Moloch's Lair feeding them the unable civilians, while others were either sacrificed or forced into slavery. Li Mei was still one of the victims to await her fate. Quan held his Amulet for the proper time unlocking the vicious Soulnado; the Sun Do were forced to unveil its secrets on providing the sorcerers with endless souls from the Heavens, and this particular location was the area to activate it. Their plan was into fruition, especially when they sent the Red Dragon agents to scout outside the perimeter to make sure they were dead upon the Dragonfly's demise.

Lao was the first Kombatant to come to, although Nightwolf and Kiba were unscathed. Aiko woke up dazed moments later, and Liu's spirit theorized that another source kept them from being injured. The shaman noticed the other hurt members and conjured a ritual for his ancestors to grant them strength; he hadn't used it often since he stayed out of touch with his Matokan skills. The large beam of light healed the heroes, and both Kiba and Kenshi sensed distress ahead. Nightwolf foresaw the towering Palace about a mile away and Sonya suggested to go under the radar. Kitana complimented on Lao's quick-thinking Teleporting everyone off, as did Jade and she could've sworn she broke a bone though it was only discomfort after Nightwolf healed her. The cryomancers were lucky they escaped via their ice slates, and Johnny and Kenshi mourned for the loss of their transportation. Fortunately, it wasn't long before they followed to the source, a torture chamber in which Hanzo identified as Moloch's Lair. Lao and Kenshi escorted the only living prisoner, though it wasn't long; the swordsman managed to read his mind as he was too weak, as visions of the Soulnado entered him. They must hurry and prevent the calamity the Deadly Alliance would use. After the passing, the team was ambushed by the Onis again! Hanzo and Baraka took the call to arms, each alternating formations.

They were at a losing situation, until Liu's spirit suggested Baraka to impale Drahmin. The demon's mask was scarred, so in a desperate attempt, he tore off the Mask unveiling his irate side, much to Hanzo's dismay! The brutal Moloch and chaotic Drahmin were nearly too much, until Liu ordered Lao for Baraka to borrow his broadsword! He made Baraka remember the fatal duels he had back in the Soul Tombs, and recollecting the strategies, he impaled the blade into Drahmin's bare head!! He then diced him into chop suey, before he stabbed the pile of rotting flesh! Hanzo was almost at the Oni's mercy until Baraka cut apart the deadly ball and chain! Hanzo used his spear to draw in the metallic orb before he launched it toward Moloch and soon crushing his ribs! Hanzo and Baraka congratulated with a manly handshake, after Aiko was barely able to draw the Onis' essences into the victorious duo!

Despite their victory, the team remained wary and anxious when dealing with the Deadly Alliance. The gang emerged ever closer to Shang's Palace, where Nightwolf confirmed it's the source of the immense evil. Even Kenshi sensed the same, and Sonya warned there can be an army awaiting them. Johnny then called for backup which the radio signal emanated from the Edenian Palace.

Sindel and Sheeva were tending to a guilty-wrecked Goro. He feared if the team should engage against the sorcerers, he may lose himself, confirming Sindel's angsts if she should re-encounter Kahn. Sheeva assured Goro he should focus on the positive, and the Queen wished Kung Lao wouldn't lose himself either. Everyone's faces fell as Asgaarth and the knights broke the news the heroes reached the Palace at last.

The Red Dragons and Tarkatan army ambushed the heroes; Kenshi sensed the laser before he tackled them down to evade it. He and Jax volunteered to take care of the terrorists, and Kenshi offered Johnny to stay beside Sonya, as they were a couple after all. The two agents struggled against the vicious duo while the rest of the team got their hands full of the Tarkans. Jax emerged victorious against Hsu Hao reaching for his artificial heart and tossing it aside while Aiko, at first feared, made it and Hsu explode!! Jax then confronted Mavado and made him weak enough for Kenshi's psychokinesis, making his eyes spew out!

The Tarkans continued to grow in numbers until the God brothers came to their aide; Raiden with bolts of lightning, and Fujin with a F2 tornado, despite their aerial dives! They confirmed as former Elder Gods, their powers were enhanced slightly, despite the warnings on being defenseless in Outworld. They can't be as powerful as the Deadly Alliance, much to the mortals' concerns, thinking it was up to them now, much like Liu and Lao's adventures across Outworld. Kitana then suggested to take a quick respite, even though they were missing Bo due to his desperation in rescuing Li Mei.

Con't XI: Kulmination[]

Mortal_Kombat-_Vengeance_(Finale!!)

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Finale!!)

The heroes were escorted by Baraka to a nearby, abandoned Tarkatan War Kamp, where they rested before their inevitable battle against the Deadly Alliance. Kung Lao was meditating near the bonfire beside Aiko with Nightwolf in the rear. His and Liu's minds merged into one subconscious at the same placid landscape as a quick review for Lao's new techniques; including the Whirlwind Kick in which Liu admired he's finally getting the hang of. Lao pined if they should win, what would become of his Shaolin brother... The two woke up as they heard a muffled tenor belonging to Nightwolf who brewed a hot broth which ingredients he kept; they were designed to keep the heroes' minds focused despite being in the midst of rage. Lao and Aiko were the first to try and the cardiokinetic offered it to the other Kombatants while Lao discussed with them. Hanzo and Kuai dreaded the former would cave into his wrathful self if he should encounter Quan, Kitana agreed Lao should have a wingman, Raiden and Fujin monitored the shadowy perimeter, and Baraka was just sharpening his blades distracting the chats. Lao wondered how long he was out of it, as the shaman confirmed a few hours, and he slept like the dead. Liu remarked it was why he's always late for class. Lao remorsed over the fact, as he would've saved Liu from his tragic fate; Raiden assured his spirit is still in Lao's hands. Aiko announced everyone was ready.

Shang was about to add Li Mei as the last sacrifice to the undead army, until he and Quan sensed the heroes' souls. He ordered the blanch to open the way of the Soulnado! The heroes noticed the sudden gales and Raiden alerted them while Fujin shielded the strong gusts! It expanded and the dead souls were being held hostage in the heavens! Fujin ordered Lao to shut it down so the Alliance wouldn't absorb the endless souls! Liu mentioned he wasn't safe, so while the dragon amulet was offered to Aiko, she gave away her heart gem, as an experiment contrary to the Gem of Tetsurri. Raiden and the consumed wraith, Scorpion, breached the Palace while Bo' escorted the villagers and carried the unconscious Li Mei out! Unfortunately, Scorpion's insatiable rage and Raiden's strength were mere distractions as Quan tossed the ninja into the vicious storm, where his soul and vessel were torn asunder! Bo' headed straight to the funnel and kept the souls at bay that were entangling Lao and Fujin! They powered up their aerokinesis, the light blue funnels overriding the Soulnado!!

Shang nearly strangled Quan and the heroes arrived fighting back the Tarkatans, while Lao and Fujin witnessed Raiden struggling. While Aiko was immersed with the Tarkatans along with her comrades, Liu ordered her to face the dragon amulet she kept and faced it to Lao. His spirit jotted out and merged with his body! They challenged Shang while Nightwolf dealt with Quan Chi, remembering the past travesties he had with him. At first Quan tried to possess his soul, but it was a ploy to dice him with his soul-empowered weapons. Lao eventually switched to Quan and the shaman was at a disadvantage. Lao's broadsword seemed to overmatch Quan's twin swords, until the Matokan seemed to fair better against Quan, even playing Death Man's Volley with his projectiles. Utilizing his soul-draining techniques taught by Bo', as well as Lao using the Whirlwind Kick in conjunction with Liu Kang's own lethal moves, they were proven a force not to be reckoned with! At one point, Lao was getting weary and remembered Bo's advice on evading and leaving room to strategize. Liu's spiritual dragon leapt out but it wasn't long before Shang attempted to steal it! Kenshi, wounded in the ribcage, managed to slice Quan's neck with his powered-up longsword, before Lao became irate and rained down severe blows to the sorcerer! Lao made a warcry before he, assisted by Liu's spirit and Kenshi, forced Shang into his Tornado Brutality evaporating Shang's souls and exploding him from the inside!!

Lao emerged from the bright light and nearly collapsed as Nightwolf and Kenshi caught him! They carried him arm in arm as Raiden and Liu declared Kung Lao as the new Champion avenging his fallen brother and proven to be Liu's equal! Jax and Sonya grew irritated they should take the Celestial Portal back, but Johnny pointed out the hidden Nethership! Raiden and Fujin powered it up and made it soar to the portal in the sky after all passengers, excepting Hanzo and Bo'. Lao rested inside a room in the dim lit cabin, with Aiko tending him. Liu decided to hang out with Kitana anyway, and he congratulated his Champion before Lao dosed off as the heroes returned to Earthrealm!

Mortal Kombat- Deadly Alliance - Kung Lao's Ending

“Rage fueled Kung Lao’s thirst for revenge. The memory of holding his fellow monk’s broken body on the lei tai of the Wu Shi Academy grounds konsumed him as he rained blow after blow down upon Shang Tsung. Kung Lao had finally mastered the attack Bo’ Rai Cho had taught him. The sorcerer kould not withstand his whirlwind assault. Shang Tsung begged for mercy. Kung Lao granted him none.

Mortal_Kombat-_Deadly_Alliance_-_Raiden's_Ending

Mortal Kombat- Deadly Alliance - Raiden's Ending

"Once again, the threat to Earthrealm has been vanquished. The Deadly Alliance is no more. What dangers lie in the future, I kan no longer foresee. Perhaps the Dragon King will in fact return. Perhaps the depths of the Netherrealm will spew forth a legion of Oni. Even the Vampire people pose a threat to peace now that Outworld is in khaos. But one thing is certain… Earthrealm must be protected.

"I have abandoned my status as an Elder God to aid these mortals…an act defiant of the Heavens. I will instead remain here on Earth…as God of Thunder.”

Epilogue[]

As the Nethership sailed thru the open portal, Kuai eventually heard while he was healing Kenshi's ribcage wound with Frost of Hanzo's unfortunate fate in the Soulnado. Although, after a moment of silence for Liu Kang, he announced to the Lin Kuei he was proud on having Frost as his most promising apprentice and wished for her to fight alongside him again. Members of the clan, even Tomas, could've sworn they saw Frost's and Kuai's crystallized eyes as they gazed into each other and slowly closed in before they kissed and made a warm embrace... Kuai and Frost were officially a couple!

Sonya then called the New York hospital as soon as she spotted the severe abrasions on Kenshi's ribcage. Kuai and Frost were on healing duties stalling infections, pain, and blood loss, and she jogged her memory on dealing with the treacherous Hsu Hao using Kaba's hookswords. Stryker updated on Kabal's condition from critical to stable, and he congratulated her for a job well done.

Johnny still worked with Bollywood and the Special Forces, but he might also propose a lower form of media, if he would produce Aiko's fanfiction series as movie adaptations, word of mouth from the Shaolin!

Moments later, Kenshi reunited with his lost son, Takeda, at the Shirai Ryu headquarters. He was unable to get his sight back, but as long as he had his psychic sword, with his ancestors at rest, and his kid alive and well, he was forever grateful...

Sindel was thrilled the heroes were successful liberating Outworld and putting Liu's soul to rest, even shocked to see a time displaced Baraka escorted by Kitana and Jade! She decreed that since he proved to be an essential part of the Kombatants' success against the Tarkatan army, the Onis, etc. Thus, his punishment would be reduced, and he can relocate close to the Edenian border, although Sheeva and Goro warned the Shokan and Centaurs shall keep an eye out for him and the remaining Tarkatans. She also pined on Raiden's words what would become of Outworld, Liu's soul, and whether or not Onaga shall be reincarnated; even wondered what would become of Reptile according to the lone nomad.

Raiden and Fujin were still surveying the ruins of Shang's Palace, whether or not Outworld would be in chaos on account on its liberation. He discussed with Fujin on the possibility that Reptile, along with Baraka, would have also been time displaced, according to the latter's theory. But Quan denounced the resurrection of the Dragon King would soon commence.

At first, Kung Lao was awakened when sunlight shined thru the side window in the Nethership, and he groggily said he needed to sleep more... Several minutes later, Aiko and Liu woke him up again, then he was escorted into the Academy by Aiko, Kiba, and Nightwolf. He tuned out the monks cheering for their victory and their cries for the loss of the Champion. Lao was then greeted by his cheerful tween nephew and Jin's mom, before he was led to the built Tomb. He was awestruck at the sight of it, even the sacred hearth. He observed the candles surrounding it and began to light a stick of incense. He placed it with the others, took out the dragon amulet and bowed low as he prayed for Liu's safe passage for his dear friend and brother... Lao began to tear up as he reflected on the memories of being his bitter rival and companion. Liu forgave him on being so jealous and short, always wanting a peaceful life but his efforts became overshadowed by him... Lao mourned him farewell, until Nightwolf interrupted the ascent!

Mortal Kombat- Vengeance (Epilogue)

Fujin grew irritable and to his horror, Raiden witnessed the inanimate mummies reanimate themselves, moments before Fujin killed Quan, the sky darkened and flashed with radical lightning, and the Gods beheld Onaga letting out a roar that he was finally free!!

Trivia[]

  • Mortal Kombat Vengeance working titles

    MK Vengeance working titles

    Mortal_Kombat_Vengeance_Marathon

    Mortal Kombat Vengeance Marathon

Ikran was disappointed that the working title, Vengeance, wasn't chosen as the official title for MK V. Instead, it was just about the demonic duo, rather than Kung Lao's, or perhaps another hero's, agenda on avenging Liu Kang and dealing with old, familiar enemies.
  • She really wanted Kung Lao to be in the lead, as he's Liu Kang's Shaolin brother and rival, and according to True Underdawg Gaming, this was when his downfall/comeuppance started.
  • Deadly Alliance was the first MK game to never have an arcade release, and it never had John Tobias at the helm, and considering that Konquest Mode and other things were mediocre, it shows. Ikran felt this was the start of Ed Boon taking full charge over the series, and she felt he has corrupted it since without Tobias. Like Final Fantasy VII being greenlit and no longer caring for the quality nor the consequences that ensued.
  • The idea of having Liu Kang in Kung Lao's body was like having Vegito or Gogeta from DBZ.
  • She also hated how every Kombatant lost in the end! Other than having Lao's time to shine, she promised to not let their victories be in vain... She did just that as Liu's spirit was spared, he and Nightwolf assisted Kung Lao in the final battle, and their source, the Soulnado, was shut down!!
  • Smoke was supposed to be corrupted by Noob Saibot, but they weren't in the actual game. Nevertheless, Smoke remained in Arctika instead of being imprisoned in Outworld, even though he was captured in Kahn's Fortress, and he escaped with the other Kombatants!
  • Of course, since Tobias was out of the picture, Ed Boon wanted to wipe the slate clean by eliminating the main onis, Liu Kang and Shao Kahn; however, since Kahn and Kano were destroyed since Shaolin Monks, Part II, there was no need to add them again...
  • Aiko's reference to Moloch was indeed Ikran's experience with the Sleepy Hollow TV series, in which there was another demon with the same name ruling over Purgatory.
  • The place in which the monks' subconscious lies with the islands and precipices was inspired by The Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, in which Mantis and Peter explore his emotions to find members of his broken team; the training sessions were difficult as they were based on Kung Lao's Konquest Mode.
  • Erroneously, Hsu Hao was mentioned as the one who assaulted Kabal, but it was actually Mavado. However, since Hsu was more interesting, he had a better role.
  • Unlike the end of MK4, Hanzo doesn't wind up as a damned soul, nor does he chase Quan Chi out of the Netherrealm. He and Kuai restored the real Amulet to the Temple of Elements, and thus he reclaimed his humane form, but still has the wraith like a ticking time bomb.
  • Recently, Ikran has made several fast friends on Twitter involved in the Kommunity; all of them are roleplayers of different Kombatants! Several of them include Kung Lao, Reptile, Fire God Liu Kang, Queen Sindel, Sheeva, Kitana, Rain, and Baraka! Baraka was such a good friend to her, as well as a close ally and trainer to her OC, Aiko. So much so that it was a tough decision involving him into the story. She eventually decided to give him a chance, as a time traveler much like her, as an escape from future Jade's corruption and abuse over him and the Tarkatan, when they were allies to the Shokan, Sheeva, and Kitana Kahn!
  • There were also some story elements inspired by Sindel's picfic, Mortal Kombat: Legends, in which the Kwon Do was the red staff Sindel gave to Aiko; she trained her how to use it, including what to do if the weapon should be knocked out of her hands, thus open hand kombat came into play! Both Sindel and Bo' trained her that, including the Shaolin Fist. It was also mentioned like in the roleplay that Baraka stated Aiko bested Bo' and Baraka in the Wu Shi tournament!
  • The betrayal and bickering Bo had with Baraka was also based on the RP, as Aiko figured Baraka betrayed her as he turned after Kahn rose into power replacing Kitana Kahn and Sindel who're deceased.
  • Aiko now has 3 distinctive fighting styles, like the other Kombatants in Deadly Alliance, counting her cardiokinesis, her open hand kombat, and Bo' staff as a melee weapon aside from her club!
  • There's a chance that arenas like the Acid Bath and Quan Chi's Fortress may not be included; none of them she found interesting, and the former can just be a rehash of the Dead Pool from MKII and Shaolin Monks. It's most likely others like the Lung Hai Temple, House of Pekera, and the Kuatan Palace might not be added. Mokap may be scrapped as well.
  • Erroneously it was mentioned that Hanzo no longer uses his spear since he's no longer the undead wraith as it protrudes thru his palm. However, later on, it was stated that Hanzo HAS retained his spear! It was an error, but it can just be Hanzo changing back into his wrathful self temporarily, ie against the Onis and/or the Tarkatan army.
  • Nightwolf's tactic on using the Soul Drain taught by Bo' Rai Cho was actually an idea made by Jack the Ripper; it wasn't necessarily based on the infamous English serial killer, but rather the curved weapon named the Byzantine Parang, introduced in Sleepy Hollow's Season 3 capable on corrupting the wielder and most notably draining the victim's vitality after a stab. Much like the impalement strategy in Deadly Alliance.
  • The Tag Team feature was inspiration from MK9; at first, Ikran thought it was like the Endurance Matches from the og game, being the reboot, but instead Kombatants switch out for another teammate, just as she found inspiration as Kung Lao took on the Deadly Alliance, before Kintaro, on his own!
  • Unlike in the games, Frost doesn't have a jealous, toxic relationship with Sub-Zero nor the Lin Kuei; she was actually admired by her peers as she appreciates her cohorts even the women. In fact, because of that kiss, they were a couple! Those ideas were inspired by the sprite animation, Mortal Kombat Reconciliation.
  • The story was completed on December 14th, 2022, a year before she made Every MK: Defenders of the Realm Episode Ranked. which was also the same date the series got cancelled in 1996 which was Jerrod's 5000th anniversary of his death. It was just the date amongst the holiday rush!
  • Unfortunately...while the original podfic marathon was released on August 21, 2023, it didn't have the epilogue; instead, the prologue was posted twice! Thankfully on March 9, 2024, Ikran managed to remake the marathon with the epilogue proper.
  • Aside from Swamp Levels and her progress on The Return of the Dragon King, this was a project that was nearly lost since Ikran accidently spilled coffee on her Windows 10 laptop while fixing a bedsheet; thankfully most of the old files on its hard drive were spared, including her progress and several songs.
