New York, often called New York City (NYC) to distinguish it from the state of New York, is the most populous city in the United States. With a 2020 population of 8,804,190 distributed over 300.46 square miles (778.2 km2), New York City is also the most densely populated major city in the United States. Located at the southern tip of the state of New York, the city is the center of the New York metropolitan area, the largest metropolitan area in the world by urban area. With over 20.1 million people in its metropolitan statistical area and 23.5 million in its combined statistical area as of 2020, New York is one of the world's most populous megacities. New York City has been described as the cultural, financial, and media capital of the world, significantly influencing commerce, entertainment, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, dining, art, fashion, and sports, and is the most photographed city in the world. Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy, and has sometimes been called the capital of the world.

New York was the breadbasket of the series especially concerning the Fantastic 4 and their base of operations, the Baxter Building. Terri's apartment and her favorite place, Central Park, are also represented. John Myers also lives there.

It was mentioned numerous times in which Rick Wheeler traveled there from Boston. He soon became a Formula 1 champion thanks to Haruka's advice and tutelage, even with Rose's support: it's the home for the 2 women. This was also the location where he was killed by Zoda, also born in the Big Apple, and how he and Haruka ambushed each other at the East Bank. This was all before it was renamed as Mute City.
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Part II[]
This place was mentioned it was the home to Kurtis Stryker, as he was the Riot Control Officer there before he was summoned by Raiden.
It was later represented as Shao Kahn started to merge Earthrealm with Outworld. It became the main site for the Emperor's new Castle! Stryler noticed the commotion as the streets were being bombarded by the extermination squads. He surveyed the damage, and numerous cars, buildings, and people were severely mangled. He followed a scuffle to the abandoned subway tunnels and gotten ambushed by Kano! He was unable to fight him off till Kabal came to his aide! He sent Kano crashing thru the ceiling and onto the streets above, and the assassin finished him off by his Fatality removing his respirator mask and screeching loud enough to make Kano's skeleton be torn from his body, run, tripped, and scattered its bones! Stryker thanked Kabal for the assistance, though Kahn challenged them to meet up at his Castle. But the lone warrior ensured they needed to recruit allies.
Kabal led Stryker thru the abandoned subway system to keep undercover from Kahn and his extermination squads. They heard some scuffles, metallic ones, in which the former figured it'd be from robots. Stryker went on hot pursuit and spotted the Lin Kuei cyborgs, Cyrax and Sektor. They split at a crossroads and the duo went after Mustard as he went to the nearby Bank. Cyrax bombarded the place, and Kabal intervened. He was soon uppercut thru the roof, but he won over the defective warrior, plummeting to the street below!
Kabal then dealt with Sektor, aka Ketchup, but he was little to no match. Smoke took over the battle, matching the assassin's battle prowess, though since he was still human, he was worn out. Aiko used her cardiokinesis to subdue the relentless weapon then Sub-Zero froze him! Sektor initiated a self-destruct and Smoke was able to teleport him into the air! He exploded, and Smoke was safe, then the heroes were surprise attacked by Tarkatans and Shadow Priests. The latter electrified the soldiers by their metal plates, even Smoke himself! Inert, he was then taken straight to Shao Kahn's Fortress.
Mortal Kombat: Vengeance[]
Stryker alerted Sonya that he and Kabal wound up in a hospital, with the latter in critical condition. He stated the suspect was a man with an artificial heart and an engraving of a red dragon on his arm. Sonya came to the conclusion it was Hsu Hao, and she and Johnny were on the chase. Hsu ambushed the couple, and he hadn't seen the general in so long with an ogle. Cage took the offensive and was weakened due to Hsu's heart empowering him. Fujin arrived via funnel which tossed him into a dumpster! He then conjured a portal leading to Shang Tsung's Island where Raiden awaited.
