Palom is a playable character in Final Fantasy IV and its sequel, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. He is a Black Mage from Mysidia who trains together with his older twin sister, Porom.

Trials of a King/Conquest of the Blue Planet[]
Palom and Porom witnessed the cataclysm at the summit of Mt. Ordeals. They both alerted the Elder when he was in the middle of prayers with a White and Black Mage. They worried for Kain's welfare, but luckily, he escaped with Cecil in tow.
Palom and Porom were captured by the Injukhal as they did their absolute best to fend off the tribe and the brainwashed Mages, though the onslaughts were too much. They were taken to the limestone tower at Tenebre, and Cecil found them! They had their arms raised and tied by chains, and Palom dared to make a move to help them escape, whereas Porom was more nerve-wrecked if the Injukhal or the brainwashed tribesmen would notice. They heard footsteps, worrying it'd be an enemy noticing them, but it turned out to be Cecil! Palom questioned him on why was he wearing some of the Injukhal's getup and war paint. He had no time to explain as he cut them loose and teleported them to Mysidia!
The Elder was happy to see his kids safe and sound! Cecil urged him to take them to Baron where they'd be safer. The kids then noticed Ceodore's birth when the war was over.
